Mama,

Keep that to yourself!

Wag mo akong pagsabihan!

Kahiya!!  Dad is the Best!!

TAMA, at may pinagkatandaan.

Be sensitive Ma, di madaling mag tinda ng 3 araw. Tapos makakatanggap pa ng comment na ganyan!  Ako pa pala ang mali!! Wow! What a terrible logic you have there!!

Ma and Pa,

It is very difficult to have parents like you. From my childhood up until now that I am married, you are the ones who bring me hurt and pain. But I will still try to honor you because it is the right thing to do, and it is what the Lord commanded.

Mommy, di tayo masyado expressive sa love natin as mom-daughter, but I love you very much! I can't imagine life without you.

Daddy, you have mellowed down so much, pero nasobrahan naman ata. itigil mo na yang kaka-COC mo! Wala ka na magawa sa buhay mo. Hahahahaha. I did not expect that I will forgive you for all the harsh words at sa pambabato ng Pitchel sakin dati. Haha. Pero now I have completely forgiven you. Parehas pala tayo ng ugali, but I'm enlightened na and I will not do it to Saab, I promise, :)

I love you both! I'm working on it.

I can't show affection because I was not used to doing it. Even if you're asking, I find it really hard. Maybe because I feel that I grew up alone and did not learn how to do it. I know I was the sweetest when I was around 3-7. But I changed because I felt that I was the only one who's like that. I felt that I should not be doing it. Another reason maybe is that I still remember how you did not want to help me and did not even worry about me when I could not breath. Yes. What I saw in you that day is that you were so used to seeing me having asthma attacks that you just do not care anymore. "Patulong ka sa ama mo." - I can still remember how you said it while I was struggling to breath. I learned to keep whatever I feel to myself, whether good or bad, because you do not care. You're so pretentious - acting like you're always there for me when there are visitors. Don't you realize how much you struggle in thinking of things about me that you can share with them? You barely know anything about me. So it leads to you making up stories and concluding for yourself the reasons for my actions. Most, of course, is wrong. I started locking myself in my room because 1. you do not genuinely care/listen so why speak with you?, 2. I do not want to be a part of your pretentions. If you want to do it, then do it yourself., and 3. You fight everyday - when I wake up, as I leave for school, when we're home, when we eat, before I sleep, etc. It stresses me too, and it actually triggers my asthma attacks. And now, you beg for affection. I recognize how you've worked hard to provide material things. But I just can't. I feel guilty. I can easily be sweet with others but not with you. I'm trying, but it's really really hard...

Even with the above, I am still worried. I'm very much worried but I can not let you know. I'm worried that there will not be enough time for me to be able to give back to you. I'm just starting with my career, and your health's not really okay, we all know that. I do not really know what I should do right now. I'm scared that by the time that I'll be successful, you won't be around anymore for me to share it with. I'm scared. I feel that I will lose purpose in succeeding. What's the point if I have no one to share it with? I'm scared to be left alone... I'm so scared. 😿

Hello. Just wanna share my thoughts and vent out my feelings as well towards sa taong sabi nila "nanay" ko daw but no, I can't even call her that anymore. So here it goes..

I'm 17 turning 18 this year (hoping na walang magsabi na I'm too young to understand adult stuffs or for this kind of situation whatsoever)... I hate her. I don't like her ever since. I never did. So she was an OFW for 17 years, yes, hindi ko alam exact na nangyari pero siguro after she gave birth to me ayun nagtrabaho na siya abroad. I grew up with my Dad (whom I really look up to and love but that's another story) and my Kuya na 10 years older than me. As usual routine ng mga OFWs, umuuwi siya once a year for 1 month stay. I can't remember anything na before nung bata ako every time na umuuwi siya. I don't feel any disgust or galit kasi nga bata pa and I was still so innocent to understand things going on around me that time. Siguro nagstart 'tong feelings ko sa kanya (That Mom) na hindi ko madesribe e basta parang I'm not comfortable and can't really like, even love her no matter how much I tried. We had a huge family matter that time, siya nasa abroad and I was living with my Dad and Kuya.. this is about financial. So ayun, siguro almost a year kami nagtiis sa patina-tinapay lang and lubog sa utang yung That Mom left and right. Pag naalala ko yun, gusto ko umiyak, feeling ko naiiyak ako not for That Mom but for my dad. At this point, you'd ask if kung financial problem, why didn't my father find a job and get paid to help That Mom.. the reason is, he can't. He was only a HS Graduate and my father is too old na that time unlike that one na kumikita ng pera who finished College and took board exam and flew abroad. About sa financial problem, it wasn't my dad's fault nor my brother kesyo hindi nagbubudget or what kaya nauubos agad, the thing is, That Mom thinks very highly of herself. I was young but not so innocent na to know and feel that to her. Almost lahat ng sweldo niya is binibigay niya sa Mother niya, and kapag may nanghingi sa kanyang kapatid or nangutang, sobrang luwag ng pera and ibibigay na niya lang agad without thinking na may dalawang anak siyang binubuhay, as well as husband na nagpapakahirap to take care of me and brother and makisama sa mother-in-law dahil nga iba ugali nila when it comes to money. TAKE NOTE, ANIM SILANG MAGKAKAPATID, 3 OF THEM ARE OFWS INCLUDING THAT MOM, THEN THE OTHERS KUMIKITA DIN BECAUSE OF THEIR WORKS... but That Mom, hindi dahil sa siya ang pinakamabit na anak kaya almost lahat binibigay niya for her Mother, but because she wants to brag about what she has achieved sa mga kapatid niya at para sa mata ng Mother niya is siya yung may narating kung baga... pero it's all the opposite.

Mayabang. Mapride. Mataas tingin sa sarili. Those are the names that I can call her. OKAY I KNOW ITS A SIN pero that's the truth. I mentioned na my dad only finished HS, and no stable job.. I mean no job at all but to stand as a REAL PARENT saming dalawa ng kuya ko. That's what my father's job is for 17 years. Pero for That Mom, she sees that work of my dad as simple and easy.. walang sinabi sa hirap na nararanasan niya as an OFW. Well I can't blame her for that, kasi mahirap naman talaga mag OFW but hindi yun yung point ko. She never sees my dad as her Husband. When I turned a bit older, my dad started to tell me things like, he's tired with this life, or pagod na siya magtiis sa That Mom kasi halos lahat ng masasakit na words, sinasabi niya sa dad ko. Minamaliit dad ko kesyo wala siyang sariling income or walang narating sa buhay ganun ganun. Every time I think of it now and then, gusto kong umiyak for my dad, I feel so ashamed to have that kind of MOM. Dun nagstart mamuo ng galit puso ko, I can't even love her nor talk to her. No I just can't. She has her own ways na sobrang mali. Lahat ng gusto niya kailangan masunod and she's full of negativity. I remember on my HS days, when I tell her stuffs like sumali ako sa quiz bee or some competitions in school, she would always answer, "Sus, kaya mo ba yan?" things like that, unlike my dad na full of encouragement even on the simplest things that I do. Pero siya, wala kang mapapala talaga. Until I graduated HS and syempre it's about courses and invesment sa college na, I told her this one course that I really want to take but she all she said to me is, "Be practical." No, you can't take that course, wala kang mararating dyan. SEE? WHAT KIND OF A MOTHER?!

I never liked her! Feeling ko sasabog ako every time nakikita ko siya, even the way she talks is so annoying na for me. I can't even move around the house whenever she's on the same place as I do so I prefer na maglock sa room ko kesa nakikita ko siya. I feel disgust. I'm not gonna say this because of her physical appearance, but one thing similar about the way she acts and the way she IS, is like an Unemployed 30ish Obese Junkfood Eater Man. Sorry for that. She can't even take care of her own hygiene. SHE DISGUST ME IN SO MANY WAYS. I don't mind kung ilang dasal kailangan kong gawin for committing this sin pero willing ako magbigay loob kay Lord, everything that I have.... kesa makisama sa ganong klaseng nanay. She is not a Mom after-all.

I'm really planning to move out na with my dad as soon as we both can kasi hindi ko na masikmura pa na may ganito akong klaseng kasama sa bahay.

PS: My dad got a job now pero hindi ganon kalaki sahod, although we both can save naman for both of our future. My brother has a son and an OFW wife. And that mom? She's unemployed and living her life as what she thinks of herself as a highly-respected-mother-who-spends-most-of-her-money-on-bingo-games.

I never want to be her like her. Will never be. Yun lang.

Ma and pa, i honestly hate you both for being so negative in everything. In terms of finance and savings, myou have taught me the best. But in other aspect, i wish i had other parents na lang. Because of you, i dont see the happiness in having my own family or even my own kids. Mas masaya maging mag-isa. But despite all that, thank you for bringing me down and discouraging me and always being negative in most aspects in life. At least i know i shouldnt be like you. And i know that those kind of attitude wont help me as a person. I have to make sure not to be like you

Sensya na I can't  support both of you. I have a son na first priority ko. I will try but I won't go out of my way and work extra hours so that I can send you money. I have my own life now.

My family was never perfect but we are happy, until he was sick and my Grandpa (mother side) died.
Before, we would always eat out during Sunday, spend time kahit na sobrang pagod si Dad sa trabaho. When Dad was getting the operation because of a mild heart attack due to heart blockage everything changed with both of you.

I was Nursing student so I understand a bit of how you are going thru, Ma. But it doesnt mean na nagaagree ako sa ginawa mo. Yes, may pagkukulang si Dad sayo, i know that now (dahil may anak at naglilive in din kami ng bf ko). Although, I can sense na nahihirapan ka. You had a bf (tomboy pa), tapos you talk to strangers sa FB and I think you give them money or I don't know sinusustentohan mo sila? (Btw, some of your phone calls from guys/tomboy naririnig ni Kuya when he was still living with us) Kaya din siguro, umalis si kuya sa bahay dahil dun. I don't hate you, Ma. I just hate the fact na nagpakacheap ka! Or naging ganito ka.

You have us, you have a grandson na din also, si Dad he never left. He's always with you kaso you don't talk.
Way back when I was still in college, akala ko I can fix you. Kaso namatay din si Lolo. Kaya lalong nadagdagan yun. You and your younger sister fought about your shares with Lolo's money (didn't know what happen) until Dad talked to us that Tita told him about your bf! Kasi kung nangyari yun, I don't know what can I do.

Mom, i love you! Please stop this nonsense! Tumatanda na kayo pareho ni Dad. Also, I hate the fact na pati si Dell (younger sister ko) naapektuhan na. I know, you love us! Please love us back wholeheartedly. If meron man kaming pagkukulang we have to work it out. Kasi we are family! I hope we can bring back the good times! I am sorry if I can give you material things and all that. You know I have Sam already and I have a family of my own. I wish my love for you is enough.

To my Dad, I hope you will have good health as always and I wish to give you more travel memories. I know sometimes I can be stubborn. Sorry Dad! Will always love you! PS. magiipon ako for our next travel! Please take good care of yourself :)

--- buti na lang di ako naiyak while doing this. I just hope I have the courage to talk to my mom regarding this. Kasi it's been 4 years or so already. :(

Ma,

Nakakapagod ka na. Pagod na ako sa iyo. Di mo ba napapansin na everytime you hold my arm for support, ayaw ko?! I CRINGE! Yes, Ma.. I hate the feel of your touch!  Maybe growing up, wala akong naramdamang love sa iyo. Puro pasakit, both physical and verbal yun.
For spanking me, with things na mahahawakan mo pag nagkamali ako. Walis tambo, walis tingting?! You should be living alone Mama! When we all learned you had breast CA.. wala akong naramdamang awa sa iyo.  Ganyan ba gusto mo? Yan kasi tinanim
mo sa akin growing up. I know that your eyes are failing you na.. pero... wala akong paki! Naawa ba ako sa iyo?! Nope! Not one bit!

Nakaka depress at parang nag se self pity ako. Hay

nagtatampo ako sa parents ko kasi they do not want me to save. they want the big portion of my salary kasi ibabayad sa utang. sabi ko naman sa kanila na magbibigay ako and naka budget na yung money ko perp may precentage naman talaga sila sa salary ko. hindi ko lang gusto sa opinion nila. am i being a bad daughter? kelangan ba ako sumang-ayon sa kanila? ilang percentage ba sa salary ang ibibigay sa parents monthly? they are both government employees pero marami utang. i have a brother kakasimula lang din sa work and my youngest sister is still schooling.  ayaw ko matulad sa kanila kaya gusto ko mag save and sana mag invest in the future. di nila ako naiintindihan dahil talagang gusto nila bayaran ko some of their utang. huhu. please enlighten me.

^The problem is not you but our culture of utang na loob. Tulong is different from aakuin mo na lahat ng responsibilidad. Kung allocated na lahat ng pera mo at meron kang extra then you can help them. You are not a bad daughter, they are bad parents.
