Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan Thread 17

Hi sisses, just got back from palawan. We were on a budget trip, and we stayed in Big Brother House Condotel (in rizal avenue, not in manalo branch). Eto feedback ko sa kanya:

PROS
- i think the place is relatively new (?), kaya malinis and bago pa talaga mga gamit
- it's in the heart of the city -- nasa gitna ng chowking and greenwich, katapat ng jollibee. then walking distance sa balinsasayaw, nccc grocery, itoy's coffee, heavenly desserts, and the smaller tiangge tiangge. Lagi kaming foodtrip pag gabi, actually hindi na nga namin pinansin ang regular fastfood, kasi dami choices along rizal ave (unlike sa bohol)
- at P1200 per night, meron ng kitchenette (we like para tipid kami sa breakfast)
- super nice at maasikaso nung contact person dun, si Jun

CONS
- ang room namin nasa 3rd floor and walang elevator. So napipilitan kami mag-exercise pa after gumala, lol
- hindi maganda ang cooking pan para dun sa induction cooker, ang bilis masunog nung niluluto namin. haha
- under maintenance ang pool

Reading this thread, makes me remember our DIY trip in Puerto Princesa, on the spot, because our supposed to be well-planned DIY Coron (USU) trip was re-routed in Purto Princesa (PPS) due to cancelled flight issue by CEB. Were more than 10 pax, so imagine how we did a new set of itineraries to explore Puerto Princesa, and were thankful we met hospitable Palaweños, and gave us some tips on where to stay, to go, what to eat, and lahat ng iyon ay DIY for 4D3N. Glory to Him, that trip was a success and fun one.

Mga sis, help naman po...yung flight nmin sa february na puerto princesa-manila, naiba ng time..almost midnight na...sa marianne inn kaya pwede po mag extend ng stay with a minimum charge sana? or magpa book na lang ako sa go hotel habang may promo? Tingin nyo po? Thanks po.

Cari - stayed at Marianne Home, ang charge nila for extension is 200/hour. Kung wala silang masyadong guest pwede magstay at no cost. Like us, ang flight namin 6am so nandun na kami before 8am. ang check-in time is 2pm since walang guest pinaakyat na kami sa room namin.

sisses, need your help, please... pretty pretty please... nag-backread ako pero there's not much recommendation na tour coordinator. only very very few were mentioned.

i just need a reliable tour coordinator for Honda Bay - Baker's Hill - Iwahig (yes, Baker's Hill lang yung sa "city" tour kasi we're not much interested sa ibang spots). so tuloy-tuloy na sana sa isang araw ito kasi keri naman.

i know na kayang i-tricycle ang Baker's Hill pero kasi if we're getting the tour coordinator for the Honda Bay (which would end around 4pm) tapos sila din ang coordinator namin for Iwahig (which starts at around 6pm), ang weird naman na maghiwalay pa kami ng coordinator between 4 to 6pm para lang mag-tricycle papuntang Baker's Hill. FYI, hindi ko option to DIY Honda Bay and Iwahig.

sis.. what we did is.. we render one day (day3) for Honda Bay... since it's a wharf to different islet.. like starfish island, snake island, lu-li island, and isla pandan and after this(Honda bay), bago dumilim before we get back in the city (sa transient house we rented) dumaan muna kami sa isang hot spring few meters lang sa city.  Bale yung Iwahig Penal Farm, pinuntahan namin kinabukasan (day4) since afternoon kasi flight na namin pabalik ng Manila, we did the city tour ng 8am-12.. Iwahig, Crocodile farm, Palawan Ranch Zipline, Baker's hill, then goin' back to the transient house to eat lunch, pack-up and go to airport.

^sis, thanks sa reply. pero gusto namin gabi ang Iwahig kasi firefly-watching gusto namin. tsaka Baker's Hill lang naman ang isa pa naming pupuntahan so definitely kaya siya ng one day. the help i really needed was for recommendations on tour coordinators. but thanks anyway.

^ I see, at Iwahig night pala.. so pwede rin na after Honday bay, derecho kayo ng Iwahig, or Baker's hill before Iwahig, kung ano mas convenient unahin puntahan.

^sis, you may PM sis tiara. she is a girltalker and tour coordinator too. siya ang kinuha namin for our trip last nov 9-12. i can say na wala kaming naging problem na kahit ano because she took charge on everything.

^sis, yung package na nakuha namin from sis tiara is 4,800Php/pax kasama na dun yung accomodation saka yung mga tours. good for 4D 3N yun. dagdag ka na lang for souvenirs saka for dinner (sagot na kasi ng hotel yung breakfast tapos yung lunch kasama na sa tour package.

pa join mga sis... We'll be going to Puerto Princesa this coming January, naka booked kami sa Purple Fountain kasi nagandahan ako sa rooms nila ang colorful kasi at bago pa.

     Last January dapat pupunta kami ng Puerto Princesa naka book na kami sa Marianne Inn  kaso si Daddy di pinayagan mag byahe ng doctor kaya pina cancel ko jusko ang tagal nila mag bigay ng refund, ngayon lang nila November nabalik yung reservation fee ko minus the 30% charge to think 3 days before our January trip ako nagpa cancel . super dami ko nang nagawang follow ups sa email di sila nag rereply kung di ko pa kinulit ng kinulit over the phone wala silang gagawing action. hay naku after 10 months ko nakuha yung refund ko

So, we need to book an accommodation while in the city and also book one for the beach? sa area ng underground river tama ba? naku, pardon my ignorance sis ha? i still need to familiarize with the areas. Yung IT mo maganda siya kaso i assume malaki ang budget ninyo since nag dos palmas pa kayo. What IT can you suggest if 3 days 2 nights lang? maaga kasi arrival namin sa PP would you suggest to do the city tour na kagad? i really appreciate it. TIA!

hi sis ceejhei. to clarify: you don't need to book an accommodation in Sabang (Underground River area), but it's just a good option for people na hindi gahol sa oras ang tour, like us kasi 5D/4N kami kasi chillax tourists kami. so kung 3D/2N lang kayo, naku wag na kayo mag-overnight sa Sabang.

What IT can you suggest if 3 days 2 nights lang? maaga kasi arrival namin sa PP would you suggest to do the city tour na kagad?

kung 3D/2N kayo and on a budget, don't include Dos Palmas kasi mahal yun and limited din time niyo (malaki kasi budget namin - 16K/pax for 5D/4N). you said na maaga dating ninyo sa Day 1, how about yung departure ninyo on Day 3? what time ang departure niyo? para we can suggest an itinerary.
