Got my secured CC from BPI last month. Took a month for the CC to arrive, but after that ok na naman. I've use it for shopping both online and off and so far, so good naman. :)

I'm planning to get one pa naman. What I do is kada swipe ko eh pay agad if kaya ng 1 day if not within 1 week e pay ko na agad. I make sure na pay agad especially kapag straight payment hehe takot ako macharge ng late fees. Kaso ang hassle magpabalik balik sa bank. I got this scc sa bpi family.

Direct na ba yun or need ko pa ng papers for that like additional proof of income.? Btw home baker ako so wala ako proof of income. Help naman po! 😟

My BPI secured credit card application was denied. WTF? I applied last January 28, 2016. Today, I called and found out that it was declined. Shouldn't the Express Start Program be 100% approved after the processing?  :P ??? :-\ >:(

^for real??? Bakit daw?

My banking branch called me nung Tuesday morning. Sabi ko dapat for generating nalang yan and within this week makuha ko na. Until now wala pa ring update. Tatawag ako later to check on the status ulit.

Kung paperless ang pinili mo, they will email you, sasabihin lang naman sayo na ready na ang statement and to log in to your online banking to check it. Ang due date usually 20 days after cut off. Kung wala ka nareceive na email, check your online banking account na lang to view your statement to know how much total you need to pay. You can also check it via mobile app. Or you can call them too. It is very important to keep yung mga receipt or slip para we have records kung ano mga na purchase para we can compare sa statement.

I hope someone can help you here.

Ako naman I applied for SCC sa BPI last October 22. Sana naman ma-approve so I can rebuild my credit standing. Hay..

Share ko lang experience ko with the Secured Credit Card. I hope GT folks can learn from me. Hehe. Wag tularan.

So I ran into a series of bad credit card a couple of years ago (Citibank and Standard Chartered) which I had settled when I was able to get a job. But the damage has been done, I had been refused several times over by credit card companies DESPITE having a six figure monthly salary.

So I took the advice and got myself a credit card from Metrobank. Started with a  35K deposit for a 3OK+ limit. So far so good. Use it for two months and paying in full everytime. Come tuition time, I called Metrobank and asked if I can charge my daugther's tuition and and then convert it into installment. Okay daw. Charge away ako.

Then AFTER I charged about 30K worth of tuition, I called Metrobank again to convert the charged amount into 6 month installment. Hindi daw pwede, kasi wala pang one year yung card ko. This really pissed me off and I didnt pay the bill when it came. Sa sobrang inis ko di ko binyaran ng full, I just paid 30% and didnt pay na for the next 2 or 3 months. On the third month, they decided to call on the amount that was in my hold-out account. I tried to make habol and deposited another 10k to forestall them calling on the hold-out, but to no avail.

Moral of the story, never let your emotions run (or ruin) your credit card use. The first time my credit cards went bad, was due to the same thing, they wouldn't let me convert a straight charge payment to an installment basis and naiinis ako to the point na ayokong magbayad.

Also, i was shopping my bad moods away. I felt that I deserved nice shoes or bags or clothes and maximized my CC all the time.

Ngayon pa lang ako bumabangon financially. I am planning to open a Unionbank SCC with a lower credit limit. Just so I have a CC for emergency purposes. I have a prepaid Visa AMore, but its just like spending cash, kasi reloadable.

I hope some of you will learn my lesson. Ako, it took me two incidents to realize how horrible I really am at managing my finances. :D

^Thanks for sharing sis. Kaso dapat ininform ka nung nakausap mo sa Metrobank na hindi pwedeng gawing installment if less than a year ang card. Mali din sila.

But anyway, like me, I am trying to rebuild my credit standing kasi nagkaroon ako ng 2 delinquent accounts (one of which I've already paid in full). So ngayon, I will really manage my finances the right way.
