Hi! just wanna share my experience. I tried applying for a SCC at BPI Mercedes Pasig august 6, 2013. sa paguusap namin nung nag assist sakin, kahit daw may hold out deposit ka if wala kang source of income, ano daw ipambabayad mu incase magkarun ka ng balance, kaya daw subject for approval pa sila. then dumirecho agad ako sa RCBC Craymundo para mag apply for instacard naman, wala pang 30 minutes tapos nako magfillup and all. then yesterday, august 13, na'get ko na card ko..

Will be getting a secured CC thsi month. San ba maganda? I'm considerin BPI, BDO and RCBC. Pero parang mas gusto RCBC since they offer 100% CL. But in terms of perks, anong CC ba ang maganda?

Parang ang labo, kaya nga may secured collateral deposit ka, in case you default on your balance may hawak pa sila to cover your balance. And hindi naman nag bibigay ng credit limit na mas mataas sa deposit mo ang mga bangko.

anong difference nito sa regular cc? can i use this cc to buy online purchases?

^ in terms of card usgae, same lang ang scc and regular cc, afaik most, if not all bank issue the same cc be it scc or regular cc. Your difference is your scc has a collateral deposit at the bank (you have to deposit a certain amount of money, and it will be on hold, meaning you can't withdraw it unless you settle your outstanding debt, if there is any, and cancelled the card). Your credit limit for the scc is based on the amount of deposit.

hi mga sis
nag open kc ako last week ng secured cc sa bpi at ngdeposit ng 20K.
then kanina my dumating na letter and they are asking for my ITR, certificate of employment
at pay slip.
Actually kc online dn ang work ko at wala pa akong itr
so ano ang pwd kong gawin?
akala ko kc di na un need.

PS. meron din bang di naaaproved sa scc? if yes, pano na maku2ha yung deniposit?

^nung nag open ka sa BPI did you tell them na u want a secured CC

ako kasi last December nag apply and they didn't ask for anything aside dun sa application form na ni fill up ko

yup, sinabi ko secured cc, then need ko daw magdeposit ng 10K pataas.
Should i ask them or confirm na scc ang inaply ko? at wala pa ako nung mga requirements nla?

^^ what bank did you applied at? Some bank are less stricter than others, as mandated by BSP, bank do required or submission of ITR. I assume you are engage in your online work for less than a year hence the lack of ITR, i think you can inform the bank about it, if they still insist you can ask for your full deposit back and try with another bank.

this may sound OT but still about credit card. recently may nakita akong nagpost about depositing a time deposit with BPI, after daw mag mature ng TD nya, may tumawag daw sa kanya offering a credit card. Parang gusto ko e try hehe. 2k lang daw ang TD with BPI nun. Anyway, just to give idea lang po.

Hanggang ngayon di pa din ako nakakapag apply sa RCBC, lol! dami kasing gastos!

Declined ako sa eastwest declined ako sa BPI

Pero nakareceive ako ng letter n mag bpi express start program so i'm thinking secured card ito. May savings na ako sa bpi and i'm wondering if pwede na yun na lang gamitin ko kesa magopen ng TD pwede ba yun?

Gaano katagal po ang holdout period normally?
Isang taon ba? Which means for 1 year hindi ko pwede i withraw ang pera ko?

May bank ba na less than a year ang holdout period?

I have my BPI secured CC for 2 years already. I tried requesting for a withdrawal for my holdout and applying for a regular CC. Unfortunately I was disapproved. I pay my dues in full and on time. And I spend around 10-12k a month, so malaki din purchases ko. Nakakadisappoint pero kasi I love my bpi cc. Kaya kahit may ibang regular CC ako, hindi ko malet-go. I ask the reason as to why I got disapproved, kulang daw ang financial documents ko.

hello everyone
sa bpi ako ng open ng account, pumunta ako sa branch nila para iclarify yung letter
then my tinawagan yung ng assist sakin, then i disregard ko nalang daw yung letter then wait nalang for the card.
Then after how many days wala pa ding dumadating kaya tumawag na ako, yung application ko daw need ng income documents. Then after ko daw magpasa iccheck pa daw kung ma aapprove.

If i withdraw ko kaya yung application ko, maku2ha ko kaya agad yung deniposit ko?
Plan ko na lang kasing mag open sa rcbc

tanong lang sa mga may rcbc instacard na SCC, monthly din ba may bill na dumadating?

Meron pa kaya nung bpi express start? Hinahanap ko yun sa website nila, wala naman. Matagal na kaming depositor sa bpi family savings bank since nasa elementary palang ako. Interested ako sa secured credit card, di ko naman need ng mataas na limit. Gusto ko lang ng credit card pang online purchases. Ang hirap kasi sa e-prepaid ng bpi, ang tagal ibalik yung authorization hold, di tuloy ako makabili.
