Hi, girls! I'm planning to visit Norway in February, and I have so many questions because it will be my first time to visit a country during winter. I have no gear, no winter clothes, etc. Help me out, please?

These are my questions for now, though:
1) How much is a roundtrip Manila-Norway ticket normally?
2) Like I said, I haven't been to a country in wintertime. What kind of clothes (or other needs) should I bring with me that a typical Filipina doesn't already have?

^ hi sis fabuleuxmoi. I am so excited for you sa pagpunta mo but, just be ready sa lamig. Hehe february is still winter and if malas-malas, can be very cold. Last year we had a very mild winter, meaning not so much snow and temperatures did not fall under -10C sa Oslo. If I many ask san ka banda magstastay here? The weather is colder as you move up towards the arctic pole.
Anyway to answer your queries:

1. Roundtrip ticket costs usually from 45 to 70k php depending on the airline and when you book it. February is  low season so prices may not be that steep.

2. For a first timer here are the necessities:

- winter boots, no heels (self explanatory) you can buy normal leather boots or any shoes but buy 1/2 to one size bigger because you have to wear thick socks or layer 2 -3 socks.
- bubble jacket with hood
- bonnet
- wool stockings og leggings to wear under your pants/jeans.
- thick mittens or gloves, preferably wool or with insolation
- scarf, if madali kang lamigin sa neck and shoulders
-  thick socks
-  cotton kamiseta to wear under your sweaters
- sweaters and pants

tuition-free pa ba ang bachelor's degree sa norway? i searched for unis, most ng undergrads nila are taught in norwegian

^sis deity17, for university education in Norway, everyone pays for tuition. Norwegian students here take up study loans from the government to afford getting a degree if not, their parents pay for it or they have to work on the side to pay. And yes, Norwegian is the language sa lahat ng courses nila unless specified. To get into a university, you have to pass first the Bergenstest, which is the highest level in their language proficiency exams and other universities also now require that you pass IELTS.

Hi to all the Filipinas here. My name is Dee. I'll be in Bergen by August to be an au pair. I'm a Registered Nurse in our country. I have started just basics of Norsk which is on youtube with Teacher Karin.

Anyway, my question is I'll be applying for an authorisation to practice my profession from SAK. In which it will take 6 months for us outside Europe to process. I will work as an au pair in August this year and while doing so, will wait for their answer.

Anyone here who is a nurse or a nursing assistant working in Norway already? Can you please give us an advice on how it goes? I got my license just last year and took a 6-month contract of volunteering work at Army gen. Hosptal. Which according to my cousins in norway, they dnt really acknowledge foreign nurses' experience outside EU??

it wouldnt take 6 months to apply for the helsefagarbeider autorisasjon, if walang problems sa papers mo, mabilis lang.. you can apply there in the Philippines and just wait for the autorisasjon here in Norway, mag change address ka lang.. I have friends din na ginawang stepping stone ang pagiging au pair para maka work as helsefag, since nag close na ang jobseeker etc visas last year..

Advice ko lang sayo is to study norskkurs once na andito ka na, dont waste your time. may responsibility yung host fam mo sa norskkurs mo kasi kasama yon sa contract as an au pair.. then mag take ka ng norskprove 3 para mas madali ka makahanap ng work as helsefag.. I have a friend just this week na nag change na sya from au pair visa to working kasi nakahanap sya ng 80% stilling as helsefag.. wala pa syang one year as an au pair..
