sis panu kung ganito...
i bought a digicam of 8499 for 12months 0%. and shopping spree of 5000 for 3 months 0%.

8499/12=  708.25
5000/3  =1667.00

Always pay the Total Amount Due on or before the due date para walang finance charges. Also take note of your cut-off din para ma-maximize mo ang use ng cc.

First time kong magapply sa ganito and kakaregularize ko pa lang sa company namin.

:-[ Sabi kasi ng mother in law ko 5K lang daw ang pauna saking ibbigay ng bank for credit limit  ???.
E joke time ata yun? Ask ko po sa inyo totoo ba yun? :-[ Di pa ko nag iinquire sa HSBC. since waiting pa ko maaprove yung post paid plan ko para may sarili na rin akong proof of billing.

Preggy po kasi ako 5months so inihahanda ko po ang credit card in case my emergency groceries need kay baby sa mga panahong wala pang sahod.

based sa experience ko 10,000 naman ang initial offer na credit limit... pero yun yung pre-approved at walang kahit na anong requirements na submit... baka naman pag nag submit ka ng requirements like proof of income, they will evaulate and give you credit limit commensurate sa income mo.

Since nakuha namin ni hubby yung CC niya, never pa kaming nagbayad ng kung ano-anong interest.. we always make sure to:

Pay the FULL AMOUNT bago magdue date
Take advantage sa mga 3 to 6months to pay na Zero Interest! :)

always use credit cards wisely. never swipe your card kung walang pambayad in full para hindi magka-finance charge. kasi karamihan sa ganun nababaon sa utang. take advantage also of 0% interests, x months to pay kung kaya lang din natin bayaran ang monthly payment ng mga binili natin. nakakatempt din kasi mga 0% interest minsan di natin namamalayan sa dami ng 0% interest na inavail natin eh malaki na yung monthly payment natin. kami ni hubby we both have a lot of credit cards with huge credit limits pero we always pay in full and we never use it if we know na baka wala kami pangbayad kahit pa makakita kami ng sale or ng items na gusto namin.

The best and most practical way to use a credit card is to cut it in half! :D

The best and most practical way, use cash as much as you be able to provide paying.
Emergencies such as hospital bills and airline tickets, groceries, trips would make your credit cards worth the spend.

- Always pay the Total Amount Due para walang interest charge.

- If you can, buy with 0% interest or installment.

- Calculate your earnings first before swiping your card.

Because it's plastic mas tempting to buy since you don't see the actual value to you and since future expense pa sya. You have to be smarter in taking advantage of its benefits.

1) Promos are good if you are really spending for it. e.g. groceries, gas, etc. Don't try to meet the minimum just to get the freebies.

2) Always pay in full - File the transaction receipts and set aside in your 15/30 paycheck the amount you are expecting to pay. Leverage on the online facility to track your expenses.

3) Avail of mileage or bonus points privileges - we really have a budget for family travel and this is our way of saving up for it by using our credit card to pay utility bills anyway we really need to pay them, might as well reap some benefits out of it.

always pay in FULL amount on or before the due date para maiwasan ang interest.

i used to be a hsbc credit card holder kaso lately para puro libreng coffee lang offer nila kung purchase ka na 2.5k.

assess yourself muna:

- do i frequently make big amount purchases na hindi talaga maiiwasan (e.g. groceries, tuition, furniture/appliances)?

if yes, then credit card i think is really for you. to become entitled of the perks kasi you must make big purchases e. hindi naman pwedeng i-force mo yung sarili mo to meet the minimum value just to get the freebies. that wouldn't not even be called outsmarting your credit card. sana yung talagang necessities mo for your living.

never buy something which you cannot pay in FULL.

keep in mind your statement cut off and due date.  wag gawing dahilan ang hindi pagreceive ng billing statement on time ay hindi na rin magbabayad on time.

maintain one or two cards.  wag gawing habit ang pagwawaive ng annual fee.  keep cards that offer more freebies and lesser annual fees.

take advantage of the freebies so keep all the card receipts.

avoid instances of letting your card be charged by someone else's purchase.  kung ma-late ang pagbayad niya, may finance charges and late charges pa yun.

May I comment on the 0% installment  :). This is not always 0% interest, it is just one way to deceive buyers who are allergic of interests (like me). Fact: interest is already part of the selling price so it would appear to be zero interest. The true selling price is when you buy it thru cash. Pansinin niyo kapag appliances mas mura kapag inavail on a cash basis rather than installment. The difference of the installment price and the cash price is the interest. So akala ng marami, wala talagang interest but in reality, there is no such thing as 0 interest because there is what we call "time value of money".

The only good thing about 0% installment is of course the division of payments for months instead of a lump sum payment.

this is true. but what makes 0% installment purchases good is the fact na installment sya, deferrals. minsan kasi ang hirap maglabas ng cash lalo na kapag big purchases.
