1. wag bibili if di kaya isettle in full before due date (or di naka 0% interest) - hinayang kasi ako sa finance charge. as much as possible, pagkapost ng transaction, binabayaran ko na agad.

Never fall into the trap of swiping more than intended just because they have a "special" promo.

My big sister is a Starbucks addict, so when she found out that my HSBC red card has an offer for free TALL beverage every P2,500 she finds ways to increase our grocery bill from P1,8000 (average, since its just the two of us and we rely on wet market than dry goods grocery) to P2,500 just to meet it!

I told her, you know, the increase in our "unecessary buys" here in the grocery para lang makakuha ka ng TALL frapp promo mo is about P700?!?! ILIBRE NA LANG KITA NG TALL P100+ lang yan!??! Then sabi nya sayang kasi FREE DAW. I explained na mas nalulugi kami.

That's good, that's exactly what they're counting on  ;D

But how come you didn't just buy more dry goods that are on promo..
There are a lot of those in SM Supermarkets.

I remember one time I bought 1k worth of Shampoo, buy one take one
eh hehe

You can stock up on those goods that lasts a few years and that
are on sale.

Nagasgas ko na CC card ko mga sisses.. i bought all items on deferral mode with no interests.
I first bought my first digicamera payable for 12 months, a running shoes, black shoes for office and a father's day gift payable for 3 months.

sulit naman kasi i bought things na pinagisipan ko at talagang mga kailangan ko. secondly, i budgeted my next months salary to give way for my CC payments. :)

Kapag ba sinabi na 0% for 12 months, meaning payable sya for 12 months without interest?

yes payable in 12 months without interest yun. Kasi everyday we swipe our credit card may percentage dun na napupunta na sa bank, cash or installment man yun. So automatic na may kita sila everytime ginagamit natin ang credit card natin

^same question sis.

agree with sis sonia. no hidden charges on your card payment if 0% interest payable in xxmonths. kasi the interest was already included in the amount you paid. like 1k/month for 12 months. so 12k un price nya pero 10k lan if you buy cash/straight. HTH

for me - the first step to make the most of your credit card perks is to know what is the best card suits your lifestyle.

I have four credit cards - and iba-iba sila ng perks.
1) has automatic 5% rebate to any grocery purchases
2. has  tie-up with mercury drug
3) has promo when i applied
4) has number of discounts sa mga establishments dito sa province namin

2nd - is to manage their due dates and must be familiar with cut off dates - with this you can check your finances for next month's dues and you can manage what card to be used para the other month na yung payment

3rd - be familiar with perks and promos para you can utilize lahat like you can get freebies sa mga restaurants

4th - avail the 0% installment -- don't be afraid-- makikita mo naman sa statement of account mo -- the amount is really divided sa month na gusto mo

basta sisses, be wise and responsible. Dati kasi akong collections associate sa world's local bank - local accounts - kaya super naging aware ako sa responsibilities of being cardholder.

^^ regarding this 0% interest din I have questions example I bought a digicam na 0% interest for 12 mos. so kahit na minimum payment lang gawin ko every month di pa rin sya magkakainterest tama ba?

What if after buying the digicam I used my card to buy groceries, syempre madadagdag sya sa amount ng digicam on my card. will it still not gain interest? or dapat paisa isa lang ang purchase para di magkapatong. Dito ako confused eh been wanting to get a cc pero hesitant pa rin ako

allow me to answer your question sis.

0% yung digicam - it will appear on your statement. However, if minimum due lang ang babayaran mo, makakasama yung installment amount for the certain month sa Outstanding Balance mo na subject sa Finance charge.

I suggest sis, check your finances. Kasi if you're going to pay for the MDA (Minimum due amount), lolobo yung balance mo every month.

^agree..

Tama ba? Wala sila nung 0% interest for xmonths..

I don't know if that works din to fully pay the groceries or ididistribute equally sa lahat ng nasa list..

allow me to share what i know about credit cards.

first, basta straight purchase, you have to pay that in full amount when the bill comes. in that way, no interest yun.

second, pag installment in X number of months at sinabing 0% interest, wala talagang interest yun as long as you pay for the monthly installment amount in full.

third, when the bill comes, syempre mixed na yan, straight purchases and installments (kung meron), kapag tama naman lahat at wala any dispute sa bill, pay the full amount due, wag na wag yung minimum lang kasi sa susunod na buwan may finance charge yung natirang amount na di nabayaran, plus yung unpaid amount itself, plus the currect month's due for payment... naku sakit sa ulo yan, lalo na sa bulsa!

^thanks sis.. So yung mga yun pala yung may charges..

That time may ginagawa daddy ko kaya he said ok para matapos na.. It's 150 lang naman pero gusto na mag back out ni daddy. Ok lang kaya yun?

sis panu kung ganito...
i bought a digicam of 8499 for 12months 0%. and shopping spree of 5000 for 3 months 0%.

8499/12=  708.25
5000/3  =1667.00

Para maka-contribute ako dito, as much as possible, di ipa-increase yung credit limit. The higher, the more tendency to "buy" more.. Kaya minsan, out of track na sa budget..

Ok thanks mga sis, medyo nagets ko na... bottom line pala is always pay the full amount due to avoid interests.

As long as I know na wala akong kailangang bayaran sa credit card company na yun... snob ako! hehe

Ask your dad na lang to call the hotline of BPI and ask for termination of that insurance if possible. Iba iba kasi, may ibang bank na automatic ata, not sure though.
