UK TV: Sherlock

Sherlock is a British drama created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss (both popular in their works for Doctor Who). It's modern-day Sherlock Holmes, that is, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's work set in 21st century London. Everybody loves a good detective story, and I'm sure you'll find Sherlock both endearing and annoying. He even described himself as a" high-functioning sociopath."

The show is currently on hiatus. It concluded its second series last January (2012). Each series run three hour-and-a-half episodes.

This is one of my favorites!!!! Sooo good. So bad lang, coz it's just 3 episodes per season. Sana naman ginawa kahit 8 or 10 episodes. Heheh.

I'm a fan of this show! Badtrip nga yung 3 episodes per season na yan tapos tumagal pa lalo yung pag-aantay nung Season 2 pero worth it naman bawat episode.

I love love love Jim Moriarty! The first time he was revealed in the 3rd episode of series 1 ("Jim Moriarty. Hiiii."), I SWOONED. He is my kind of villain--doesn't need anything, just wants to stir up trouble.

3 episodes at 1.5 hrs per is like 3 movies per season. Kakaiba. Hehe

The creator of Sherlock (Steven Moffat) is pissed that US-TV is copying his show. Look for the previews of Elementary (CBS). I actually like the actor playing Sherlock there, but not sure about the chemistry with his "Watson".

Moffat is pissed kasi like this show, modern day Sherlock rin yung sa Elementary. But I doubt they will be able to do it as cool as this Sherlock. Iba rin kasi ang appeal ni Benedict Cumberbatch eh, and I've been a fan of his Watson (Martin Freeman) ever since The Office UK.

^ Ay sayang. Kaya pala Kimmel was doing this Cumberbatch thingy sa show niya, nominated pala siya. Nagkacrush lang ako kay Benedict Cumberbatch (not his character as Sherlock) because of his show. Also, I have weakness kasi with guys in a suit, ang yummy niya pag naka-suit most especially yung purple dress shirt. And honestly I like others characters sa show not only Watson, but pati narin si Mrs. Hudson, Mycroft and Molly.

The creators said viewers missed something that Sherlock did that was out of character.
Did he mean asking Molly for help? Crying? Making a spectacle?

i love this show super.

remember how irene faked her own death? parang ganun daw ginawa ni sherlock kasi they say if you look closely, hindi nya daw hands yun...i can't wait for season 3 though. steven moffat revealed 3 key words for the coming season - wedding, rat and bow.

What's not to love about this show?

Great cast, production and concept! Familiar ako sa original stories so sobrang naaliw ako kung paano nila inadapt. Sobrang creative and definitely for the orig Sherlock Holmes fans kasi may mga references na lang na biglang pag nakita mo, mapapa-nice one ka talaga (like dun sa Hounds ep, when Sherlock was standing on top of the rock).

Looking forward to the next season! Pinaka na-enjoy ko yung Scandal in Belgravia (from Scandal in Bohemia) but every episode is a winner so far!

uy, may thread pala for this! hehe. i LOVE this show. i finished reading all of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries way back in high school, so when i saw na merong modern adaptation i just HAD to watch it. soooooobrang nagustuhan ko how they made the series. i finished watching both seasons in 2 days. haha adik lang. and sobrang ok yung casting nila for Sherlock and Watson! perfect lang yung pagkaka-draw up ng characters nila in a modern setting while still preserving the original personality. can't wait for the next season! lapit na!

Season 3 is delayed. It may premiere late 2013 or 2014 coz the lead stars have movie projects, they can't start shooting yet.

^ hala kala ko 2013 balik pag natapos nila The Hobbit and Star Trek stint ni Cumberbatch and Freeman. Eto frustration ko since natapos ko yung buong series. Yung US counterpart na Elementary, ok naman kaso I still like Freeman/Cumberbatch tandem.
