Khriseee: what i do is i stop for a few seconds take him Off my teat then babalik ko. Unfortunately, its really up to him when he stops complaining, i just try to make things comfortable for him or figure out what could be the cause of the grunts and whining.

^^waaah, ganyan si baby ko. even biting my nipple when i offer the breast na awake siya. sakit kaya. ang ending talaga namin, kapag kakagising or antok na antok lang saka ko lang inooffer breast ko at nagdedede. we also do the kangaroo care. sometimes it works, sometimes dont.
kagabi, tulog straight. :( dra elynn go said he has high arched palate kaya hirap magfeed. suggested the use of habberman feeder. but i still want to nurse directly to protect my supply. i sometimes let him cry but sometimes i dont, lalo if may sipon. hindi ko na nga alam gagawin eh. im super stressed today. i want to take a leave kaso nakapagthaw na ng milk (6oz pa naman) kagabi. if ganun pa din tomorrow, i will take a leave and have a "nursing vacation". kapag talaga nagtuloy tuloy yung ganito, looks like i have to resort to exclusively pumping.. :(

^sis what's a nursing vacation?

I also found that my high needs baby maybe high needs because he has GERD or silent reflux :( it was khriseee who mentioned this in another post, I got curious and read up on it and all the symptoms again point to my son :( haaaaaaay!

Were going to his pedia on tues for the 2nd month check up and will ask her abt it... I hope though im worrying abt nothing :(

I forgot to mention, my baby has reflux and she's on zantac since she's 3.5 mos. laki ng improvement nung nagtake ng medicine. Sis cindy_1981, siguro my pain n nrarmdman baby mo kya ganyan sya.

She's taking zantac twice a day, and she sleeps better din. Her pedia said she will outgrow it by 8 mos or so.

Base nung pedia ko sa mga symptoms ni baby, like sobrang iyakin, fussy etc. but before sya nagprescribe ng medicine nakailang switch kami ng formula, from regular similac advance to sensitive to milk for protein sensitivity, tapos pinaiwas din nya ako kumain ng mga dairy and eggs.
Now my baby's on lactosefree milk.
Ibang symptoms are wet burps ( always), sometimes kahit after full feeding umiiyak pa rin, sometimes nman shel'll suck then let go sa bottle then suck again. My baby's pedia said its bacaues of the pain and discomfort due to reflux.

Mention mo na lang sa pedia ng baby mo yung mga symptoms na napapansin mo.

sis strauss can zantac be used for babies as young as 2 months?

I'm still having problems with my baby's feeding - I really think she has silent reflux, but at our last checkup my pedia was still firm that it was due to teething. She really dislikes feeding times, eh if it's teething she should be fussy all the time right? My pedia said for teething there is a topical gel I can use but that's for babies 3 months and above - no testing done for babies younger than 3 months. As an alternative my pedia recommended a chinese medicine to rub on her gums and so far I have noticed an improvement in her feeding - the instructions said it's for vomiting too so I'm thinking it helps with the reflux.

Sis khriseeee, according to our pedia, yes pwede sya as young as 2 months. The dosage is based on age and weight of your baby.

Kung may improvement baby mo sa binigay ng pedia, then that's a good sign. Maybe its really because of teething. If youre still in doubt, you can always seek second opinion.=)

I backread your posts by the way, you dont need to wake up your baby at night because your baby's not a newborn anymore. Hayaan mo lang matulog sis, kung kusang nagising at nagutom you can feed your baby.

^thanks sis! I'll ask at our next checkup at the end of the month. I forgot to ask about nighttime feeding last checkup so I'll include that also next time.

My yaya said she's too young to forgo nighttime feedings, ending story is whenever she sleeps with the yaya (I work nightshift) I can hear her crying when it's her 3/4AM feed (I work from home). I feel so bad coz she sleeps really well and then her sleep is disturbed :( When she sleeps with me, I'll feed her at 11/12MN and next feeding mga 6/7AM. Yaya gets upset when I tell her she didn't feed during the night.

Hi sissies, just want to share. Went to my son's 2nd month check up and raised my concern to his pedia abt his possible/probable silent reflux. She prescribed Motilium suspension for him. Although she also said to try muna, aside from burping is to keep him upright for 30-45mins after feeding so the milk wont go back up. Havent bought it yet bec i want to do research muna kasi i read rin somewhere it's used to help a mom's bm production in some cases, so parang nyek...  ???

hmmmm I've heard of motilium and I think it's really for stomach issues, I used to get indigestion a lot so I know the meds available. But I only ever took tums...but I'm reading up on it now and I'm not liking how it sounds, its basically a drug that blocks the feeling of nausea or vomiting to the brain. So it doesn't really solve the reflux but masks the feeling of it.

Zantac blocks acid production sa tummy. It stops acid that is causing the burning of the lower esophagus. Its an acid suppressant mediation. If your baby has reflux, usually she'll arch her back when feeding because of the pain and discomfort. The dosage is based on baby's weight. My daughter's pedia said that  we can stop the medicine kapag nagimprove na si baby, and nagiimprove naman sya. No more backarching, no more fussiness after feeding, diredirecho na sya sa pagdede. Less spit up na rin, minsan nga wala na. I hope sa next checkup nya we can stop giving her zantac..=) crossfingers!

Ive decided to go to another pedia for a 2nd opinion regarding my baby's possible reflux... We've scheduled an apointment with Dra. cricket chen... Hopefully she can provide another option or alternative aside from what was prescribed to us... Since she's an advocate ofnhomeopathic medicine.

ganito din problem ko sa baby boy ko. sobrang fussy---iyak ng iyak ng iyak titigil [textspeak!] pg dedede tapos ayaw naman matulog so iiyak na naman sya. almost 6 weeks na sya and though meron na siyang 5-10 minutes na playtime by himself, problem ko is wala siyang tulog halos sa araw at gabi which means ako din wala! :(  sana talaga totoo na things will be better over time.  lgi ko nga din binubulungan din at binibilang ang araw na mag three months na sya.  hindi tuloy mawala ang post partum symptoms ko :(

C00lit: sis, like what khriseee said hang in there! Konting tiis pa. I can totally relate to what youre feeling since my baby was a crier and fussy as well and i also had post partim depression. It will get better bit by bit. Naka lampas ka na sa first stage! It will start to improve again on e your baby reaches 2 months, at 6 weeks kasi nanjan yung growth spurt na nakaka-sira ng bait. My baby when on a 7day growth spurt & through it all i just wanted to "die" pero malalampasan mo ulit yan.

Do you have family near you? Mom, sis, mil? Or yaya? Dont be embarrased or dont feel bad asking for help! That's one thing ive learned also abt high needs babies, as their parents we require lots of help kasi they really are a handful (theyre not bad naman but theyre not easily satisfied as well, kaya ubos ang time and pasensya talaga). Having people around lessens the pressure a bit & para you can rest.

I hope things ger better for you na asap! Sending virtual hugs

thanks for your support, sisses.  both my MIL and mom live nearby but both can't help me out kasi MIL is quite old na and can't carry my baby na, si mom naman is busy with work :(  buti na lang i have a helper with me but since fussy nga si baby, hati lang kami sa time to do our routines and house chores.

slowly naman may improvement pero dagdag sa stress kasi yung lack of sleep tapos iyak pa siya ng iyak kahit anong style ng buhat mo. hay... buti na lang sa umaga, after nya mamuyat, binibigyan nya ako ng big smile as if to say, "i love you, sorry." :P

^sis, late ko na nalaman na meron palang such thing as 'colic'. Kaya pala iyak ng iyak ang baby ko nung mga mag 2-3months sya. Had I known earlier, I could've asked his pedia about it (Normally they give gripe water dito). Stressful para sa akin ang stage niya na iyon. Like you, ako lang mag isa nagaalaga kay baby that time. Wala kami helper that time dito sa Singapore and husband needs to go to work kaya hindi sya hands on kay baby.

Next fussy stage niya ang teething. Had I known about camilia drops, baka napagaan ang problema ko.

I hope all is well sayo ngayon and sa baby mo.
