^^nung 1st time ni baby kumain almost a week sya naka-cerelac but after that tyinaga ko maghome made rice cereal for her para mas healthy. nung una powdered rice ginagamit ko pero nung nagkateeth na sya, almost two weeks ago, whole grain na ginagawa kong cereal nya pero minamash ko pa rin. i mix it with veggies lang. allergic si baby sa chicken kaya afraid ako magbigay nun pati tuloy fish ayoko pa ipatry sa kanya, she's 8 months already.
if you're stay at home mom lang sis mas ok at mas healthy na ikaw na lang magprepare ng food ni baby. its fun pa :)

never nakatikim si baby ng processed baby food, cerelac or gerber pa yan wala talaga.

got some recipes here: http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/

basta base ko nun is 1/3 regular milled rice + 1/3 brown rice + 1/3 oatmeal tapos ibe-blender ko lang para maging powder ng onti. di masyadong pino para may onting texture. I cook this na parang lugaw tapos i add fruits and veggies na pureed. i would start with just 1 kind tapos i build along combinations like squash and apple, carrots and peas etc etc.

i would these in ice trays tapos i would freeze them. normally a batch would last for a week 2-3/feedings a day. bahala na kayo mag adjust how much gagawin niyo depende how often you can cook, ako kase since working single mom, weekends lang may time gumawa niyan.

sis Nhetskii ganun kay sis Curious Ava ang ginagawa ko. but i'm using combi of regular rice dito sa house and brown rice, i have oatmeal seperately. blender lang din gamit ko. i'm preparing foods good for 3 days only using ice tray method too :)

^yes sis. actually sis cereal din inadvice ng pedia ni baby noon, cerelac pa nga to be exact, pero nung nagdecide ako na home made na lang pumayag naman sya as long as the consistency is almost the same sa cerelac since first time kakain si baby tapos iniadjust ko na lang gradually yung consistency.

^Matrabaho po talaga gumawa ng home made baby food.  I'm also a working mom but I prepare my baby's foods, and stock them in the ref para hindi araw-araw ako nagpreprpepare.  It's so fulfilling and rewarding on our part when we prepare our baby's foods.  Hindi po rason ang nagwowork kasi ako kaya wala akong time gumawa.  There is always a time for everything especially for our babies needs and benefits.

Try mo babynatura.  It's organic :) Some moms skip cereal and go straight to squash, potatoes, sweet potatoes.  Ok naman, baby loves squash, just add a little milk.  My baby is so chubby.

joining mga sis. My baby is 5 1/2 mos old and getting ready na rin ako to start her on solids. I'm also planning to make homemade baby food. Question lang how do you reheat yung food niya? Is it ok to microwave? I'm not planning to freeze kase we don't have enough freezer space. I'm just planning to make baby food good for 2 days and ref lang.

crookshanks - based sa mga nabasa ko dati sis, it is not advisable daw to heat yung food ni baby gamit ang microwave. if you have a food heater you can use it instead. i have a bottle warmer and food warmer in one so dati yun ang ginagamit ko. kaso yung baby ko kasi is medyo may pag ka weird, she prefers yung malamig na pagkain. :D hehe! and since yung nag start sya ng solids ay pureed fruits and veggies give ko sa kanya, parang okay lang din naman kahit malamig.

I personally prepare my baby's food everyday. As in every day ang pagboil, pag mash at pag store sa ref. I want my baby to eat the no-preservatives, everyday cooked food, and all natural food (no salt, msg, etc.) Puro bland talaga kahit ako ayoko kainin ;D, pero my baby likes it naman kahit fresh from the ref, her yaya feed her my prepared baby food every lunch and dinner.

Here are the veggies I usually prepared for her :
-Kamote
-Carrot
-Kalabasa
-Sayote
-Patatas

In 10days time 6months na si baby and i'm excited to introduce solid to him  :) I'll be preparing his food din kaya nagbabasa basa na ako ng mga guides and sample recipes.

Question lang mga sis, when adding formula milk instead of water when pureeing meron ba specific na timpla pa din? I mean kelangan ba kung paano mag-timpla ng usual na fm ganun pa din or basta water plus milk okay na? Ebf kasi si baby kaya wala ako alam sa FM, and since ebf si baby kelangan ko pa ba i-consult si pedia before ko introduce ang FM thru his soild food? Di kaya manibago sya sa lasa dahil iba yung milk and worst baka di nya tuloy kainin yung solid food.
