^tanchahan lang talaga. try introducing mga 1-2oz. depends on your baby's appetite rin kasi.

it's really better to make your own baby food. it's super easy lang to prepare. you can use your breastmilk to thin the consistency of the food pa. And avoid cerelac, this is too sweet. better to give those organic cereals from earth's best. you can mix it with the pureed food then adjust lang the consistency.

We tried Gerber squash kanina and it's ewwwww. HinDi Masarap! D ate 3 spoonfuls at first then refused to open her mouth. Will prepare freshly prepared squash na lang. But I added cerelac sayang naman Kasi yung Gerber she ate but parang napilitan Lang  hehe. So I made a bowl of cerelac which she gladly ate at gets mad pa if I mabagal ako magsubo.

Question how do I know if my babies full ba? I'm afraid to over feed her kasi saka breastfeed Kasi siya sabi supplement Lang naman daw cerelac main source of nourishment pa din breast milk.

Babies shold get their primary source of nutrients from milk for the first year, so the goal of introducing solids is more to get baby used to solid food and not to get full. So a few spoonfuls will do. My yaya gave my baby half a bowl of lugaw and she was full and did't drink much milk the whole day, so now ive given my yaya instructions na only 2-3 adult spoons of lugaw per meal.

Earth's best squash is yummy, my daughter loves it, however we only crack out the babyfood when we've run out of fresh food. My baby loves steamed squash given to her in chunks, she can mash and swallow na even without any teeth.

I bought plum organics baby puffs in blueberry and purple sweet potato, she loves it too!!

actually, introducing solid food to babies is also one of the ways to train them not only for them to get used to eating solids but it also has something to do with training their oral motor skills (for speech) :) i believe babies have their own cues on eating solids, as stated in the article. no babies are the same so the amount eaten differs from each baby.

also, avoid bottled foods rin. d masasanay magchew ang baby. making your own baby food is easy lang :)

Just last week, i have started feeding solid foods to my 5 month old baby. So far, she likes eating rather than drinking her milk. She always leaves around 40ml of milk on her bottle, lol. Her first solid food was 1st stage Gerber bananas. Since yesterday, she's eating twice a day na although she's not yet 6 months old (she'll turn 6 mos a week from now). Now, I'm looking for baby food homemade recipes because it's quite expensive to buy bottled baby food.

my baby just turned 6 months last tuesday and his first food was mashed sweet potato with fm.  but he had a traumatic experience with his first solid food.  he cried for 1 hour!  on his second day, he was still crying.  his pedia said to introduce one solid food at a time for 4 days.  but i'll try to give him mashed banana today.  he trembled everytime he chewed on the food, maybe because of the texture.

^start first with a consistency that is slightly thicker than milk para di siya masyadong mabigla sa change. Then dahan-dahanin mo na gawing thicker

^ kahit almost milk na ang consistency, ayaw pa rin,  umiiyak pa rin siya. :( he doesn't open his mouth or he puts his hand on his mouth which creates a lot of mess.  i'm afraid he'll become a picky eater.  today is his 4th day to eat solids.

btw, gamit ba ang combined avent steamer and blender? mahirap bang linisin?

Baka your baby is not yet ready for solids. Why don't you take some days off first before trying again. Baka ma-trauma si baby if you try again tomorrow

1 y.o. na ang baby ko so 3 times na siya kakain in a day kaso minsan kapag breakfast di ko siya napapakain. Ano usually ang pinapakain niyo sa baby niyo kapag breakfast?

Recently I made homemade banana puree. I prepare it a few minutes before her meal. It's easier and quicker to prepare compared to mashed potatoes or carrots. My baby, at 6 and half months, can consume half of a regular size banana. She loves eating! My only problem is that she doesn't drink water. I give her water every after meal but she will only sip a little (less than 10ml).

sardonyx, meron ako nyan. di naman mahirap linisin, you just need to soak yung lid na parang perforated for a while to rinse off the food residues ng maayos. and hayaan mo lang baby mo, mukhang hindi pa ready nga ata. normal lang sa babies na patikim tikim lang kumain specially if they just started on solids. my baby was like that at first, tikim tikim lang.

Up ko lang if meron nakagamit ng Baby Bullet and Magic Bullet sa inyo? Saan din galing if yung locally sold or sa US? Yung locally sold kasi galing sa Granmerlen (distributor) and yung sa US Homeland Housewares (orig). Looking for reviews if okay ba ang locally made. Para sana kay baby ko. She's 8 mos but I havent been feeding her solids regularly pa. Exclusively breastfeeding pa rin ako. snack time lang paminsan ang Gerber or Cerelac.

^tale cues from your baby, as others have said seems like your baby is not ready. Does he look interested when he sees you eating food?

I started my baby on solids 1 week before she turned 6 months and since we are doing BLW, i gave her a 2inch piece of banana and she was able to take bites from it. Now at 8 months she can eat a whole banana, wedges of fruits and veggies without waste. Im introducing fish and ground pork to her now mixed in with her lugaw or rice

^ he sometimes keeps on chewing especially when he sees us eating.

@Grayce:  do you prepare baby's food by batches when using Avent's steamer and blender?

^yes! :) i store them sa freezer tapos thaw nalang using food warmer. yung blender nya i used it lang ng sandali, mas nagamit ko yung steamer. tho nung latter part i preferred to bake his food instead of steaming like squash, potato, sweet potato so that i can thin it more with breastmilk kasi pag steam then blend feeling ko ang watery na masyado.

to make yourself feel better, i think my son was already 7mos ata nun when he started to eat as in eat talaga, the first 2 weeks patikim tikim lang. i was worried at first also but my mom in law told me na hayaan ko lang but keep on offering and follow my baby's cues lang :) take 1 step at a time lang
