Science Fiction fanatic?

Reading through many threads here, I've noticed that nobody is a serious science fiction/ fantasy reader (or maybe I am mistaken?). Karamihan ng mga SF/fantasy readers here only read stuff like Harry Potter, Hunger Games etc.. I was wondering if anybody here reads classic stuff like those written by Ray Bradbury, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein etc.. Anyone?

I don't particularly fancy fantasy novels but I like classic sci fi stuff like 1984, handmaid's tale etc.

I also like classic sci fi novels.. especially those written by Ray Bradbury, Heinlein and Asimov.

And classic fantasy novels by Piers Anthony etc. I don't like the recent ones, except the A Song of Ice and Fire series of course.

Here!  I love those authors esp Asimov (Robots and Foundations, all of them I have in my collection).  Right now, I'm reading the John Carter Barsoom series by ERBurroughs.  Robert Heinlein, i like reading his 'Time Enough for Love' over and over.  Intriguing yung parallel histories/timelines nila.  Isa pa lang ang read ko kay RBradbury, yung Fahrenheit 451 pa lang.
Akala ko ako lang ang fan ng mga mentioned authors na iyon.
I like sci-fi kasi reading them is like escaping from the current reality.

I've read Dune, A Brave New World/1984, several Kurt Vonnegut books... Connie Willis din. I've read the first book in Asimov's Galactic Empire series. Nainis ako ang pangit ng story Hopefully I'll have more luck with the Foundation series.

Anyway, madaming nakapilang SF books sa to-read list ko I want to read nonfiction works too like the ones by Stephen Hawking and Richard Dawkins - the popular ones - kaya lang I can't find good epub versions of their books.

I've never heard of Robert Heinlein and Piers Anthony, I'll look into them later.

^ I recommend Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time. As for Richard Dawkins, nabasa ko pa lang yung The God Delusion nya.

Author ng The Jurassic Park at The Lost World
Intriguing yung mga book niya. Kailangan talaga may knowledge about a certain subject. Kagaya nung 'Timeline', may hint ng Quantum Physics. Medyo deep pero you'll find yourself finishing the book.

Anyone here into the Hitchhiker series? I looove it. Kahit ano na sinulat ni Douglas Adams.

Sa serious side naman, naenjoy ko naman si Crichton for easy reading. I especially enjoyed Andromeda Strain, Prey and The Lost World.

May nabasa akong Asimov before, yung Fantastic Voyage. Cold war yung setting niya, so interesting. Mayron akong mga binili lang na Asimov books sa booksales pero di ko pa nababasa.

i have the full Foundation and Robot series of Isaac Asimov, my best all time scifi author.

Medyo OT and super late: Agree with Lady Blue, Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time is good, dun sa Grand Design, medyo grand na din ang claims parang medyo nagdedeliryo na
Dawkins is meh, he worships Biology and is blind to it with what he hates Christians for.

my taste for fiction goes from one extreme to another.  i really like the futuristic novels of asimov and heinlein but i also like the pre-historic of jean auel (the clan of the cave bears series).  yung latest book niya, the land of painted caves, i just send a sample to my iPad.  based on the stars, mukhang di yata maganda 2.5 stars lang.  but i really really liked the first 3 (clan, valley of horses, mammoth hunters).

^ Ohhh I love Jean Auel.. I haven't read the latest from her Earth's Children series though. Mahanap nga.. I have her book pero lahat galing Booksale. Para akong nakakita ng treasure pag nakakahanap ako dati ng books nya.
