Got chef kiko for our wedding cake. We talked about my peg na and he quoted a fair price for a 3 layer (only bottom edible) cake.. then luckily, I was able to join his promo so now I am paying for the same amount but with lots of add ons..aside from the cake, I'll get 100 pcs cupcakes with boxes, 2 trays cake pops, and 5 jars of assorted lollies.. in short, may candy buffet nako! I am so happy! :) by the way, you have to pay in full before you can avail the promo.

Hi sis sorry ngayon lang ulit nakabalik kasi nagbakasyon ako ng 3 weeks sa pinas to finalize everything. Ganda nag cake tasting ba kayo? Di naman sa naninira ako pero before you confirm, better do the cake tasting first... We did try his 3 cake flavors and nothing passed our tastes. Sad nga kasi okay siya kausap and seems he knows his work. We already confirmed kay Judy Uson of The Cake Artist. Nakuha na niya yung gusto naming peg design and at the same time super sarap ng cake flavors nila, kulang na lang lahat ilagay mo sa cake hehe

Hi sis vitug.annie. How much was Chef Kiko's quote  sa 3-layered cake na peg mo? Hope you can PM me sis. :) Thanks in advance. I was tempted to book his promo however I wasn't set on giving cupcakes as guest souvenirs. Yung mga recent kasi naattendan kong weddings puro cupcakes bigay. And wala na din kaming budget for the candy buffet haha

Actually we're not very particular sa cake taste. We dont mind kung 1 layer lang edible. Kasi feeling namin ni fiance eh decoration lang sya. So di malaki budget namin sa cake. If I had the budget lang I'd really go for Joy San Gabriel. She's super nice and simple and her cupcakes were love talaga. Kaso yung basic 3 layered cake nya eh nasa 13k ata.

Hi sis maple19
Yung unang quote nya sakin sa 3 layered cake na bottom edible is same lang ng price ng promo nya so dun na lang ako sa promo nya para may mini candy buffet na rin.. not maselan naman with cake.. I considered alex franco before for a 5 layer cake pero our guests number is getting bigger na so I need to cut down on other things na di ko masyadong priority..even if I got chef kiko's cupcake promo I wont give the cupcakes as favours kasi 100pcs lang yon so kuha lang sino may gusto because I prepared specific wedding favours naman and may photobooth pa..then deserts ko with kbyc ay upgraded din so sa cake nalang ako nagbawas ng budget dahil di ko naman sya ipapakain sa guests.. :)

Thanks for the info sis vitug.annie! :) if that's the case sobrang sulit na nga nung promo.

Sis avane, I agree talaga kay joy san gabriel. Dumaan din kami nung september bridal fair and was so disappointed nung nalaman namin ubos na. And suprise!

I just discovered that Toy Cakes by Chef Kiko has very reasonable rates. Even more affordable than Hearts and Bells, however aren't Hearts and Bells cakes more intricate and polished looking?

Anyway super simple lang naman design ko. does anyone have feedback on Toy Cakes??

vain_kixie: I only inquired via FB,but this cake below daw is 17500. Hindi ko type the design, but based on the height of the cake OK the price!! Ive never tasted their cakes though, and parang the the design isn't so "pulido" but I guess you cant complain with that price hehe

Sis belle_v2g have you done a food tasting with Chef Kiko? His prices are very reasonable and since I only want a simple/contemporary design Im sure he can pull it off. How is the taste though? Madali sila kausap?

^sis Chili1113 nacancel ang supposedly cake tasting namin last nov. 29..nagkaroon kase sya ng event so unfortunately wala akong feedback about the taste of his cakes.. there's a group of w@wies who went to his house and did a group cake tasting and super ok naman the feedback. :)

We had our cake done by chef kiko. Taste was good. But i have to agree with you sis chili1113 that his cake designs are not that polished looking as compared to Hearts and Bells. I was able to taste the chocolate and the banana walnut flavors. I liked the chocolate more, it was moist and not that sweet, but i decided to have the banana walnut on the wedding day itself, coz i got scared of the thought that pieces of choco cake might get stuck on our teeth and it would look funny on pics! Haha!  ;D

Communicating with chef kiko wasn't really much of a hassle. He would respond to your emails within the day, max i waited for a reply was 2 days.
