Breastfeeding Advocate Pediatricians, pls recommend!

My daughter's pedia is Dr. Anthony Calibo of SLMC-QC. Strict sya na breastfeeding dapat pag less than a year old. He'll help you talaga na mapa-breastfeed yung baby mo. During the first two challenging weeks of breastfeeding, he even offered to visit me and my baby at home para icheck. Madali lang maginquire through text din.

Very thorough siya sa consultation. I noticed pag baby pa at least an hour ang tagal ng consultation sa kanya. Ok lang if you'll bring the whole family during check-up kasi iinform nya talaga everyone who handles baby paano ang mga dapat gawin, especially yung sa pag-store ng milk. He will explain pa yung development ng baby every month, yung difference ng mga vaccines (pati vaccine brands).

He works at DOH rin. Mura lang vaccines niya and he prefers giving generic meds sa prescriptions niya (pero I still ask for the brand

Pro-breast feeding to the max, ultimo facial rashes ni baby, breastmilk ang solution niya, kesa mga topical treatments pushed by medical representatives. Ang galing niya, she takes time to explain, super humble and friendly, and empathetic, tas 300 lang PF niya.

personally my pedia is Dr Cricket Chen, but her consultation fee is too steep for me at 700. so i switched pedia na, anyway I dont need a bfeeding advocate anymore as my son is weaning na kasi.

^ Hi.  Some clarifications lang in so far as my doctors are concerned.

Dr. Valerie Guinto also has a clinic at Don Santiago Building along Taft Avenue across PGH.

Dr. Resti Bautista also has a clinic at PGH-FMAB every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings (by appointment only).  I don't think Dr. Bautista holds clinic at Fabella Hospital.  Dr. Bautista is also affiliated with the NICU of St. Luke's Global and PGH.

Dr. Mianne Silvestre does not hold clinic anymore.  Dr. Bautista took over her St. Luke's clinic sked on Monday afternoons (3-6 pm) and Madocs clinic sked on Friday afternoons (1-5 pm).  Dr. Rose Rex took over Dr. Silvestre's morning sked (Tuesdays and Thursdays, I think) at St. Luke's QC.

had i known na bf advocate si dra. elynn go and sa pdh din pala siya, siya na sana inirequest kong pedia sa ob ko. dun din naman ako nanganak. will have check up with her tomorrow. gusto ko talaga kasi lumipat sa pedia na mas maalam sa bfeeding. yung pedia namin ngayon is okay, but when i have breastfeeding questions/concerns, di na nagrereply. parang she just keeps on saying na okay naman milk supply ko and my baby is gaining weight so no worries. i want to have someone more knowledgeable and can check if i am doing it right and how to improve further.

would you guys know if Dr. Elynn Go is affiliated with Maxicare? How about the prices of her vaccines? My original pedia was Dra. Vina Cabahug. She's pro-breastfeeding and super ok, unfortunately she's not affiliated with any hmo, consultation fee is at 800 and vaccine prices are expensive, so I've decided to change my son's pedia. His pedia now is Dra. Karen Castillo. She's ok. Consultation fee is at 600 but since she accepts Maxicare, free consultation. Vaccine prices are reasonable. She respects that I'm exclusively breastfeeding but I'm not sure if she's bilib with my breastmilk as she prescribed my son to take nutrillin. From what I know, breasfed babies don't need to take vitamins. My son is very healthy and is actually on the above average when it comes to weight and length, but since I don't want to doctor our doctor, I'm giving my son vitamins as instructed. Now, my concern is, I want a pedia who doesn't just respect my choice to exclusively breastfeed but also encourages and helps me with my breastfeeding concerns. Oh and I prefer a pedia that holds clinic in Paranaque/Alabang. My current pedia holds clinic in Makati, btw.

^^sis, got her contact details via internet na. Called her secretary and yes, she accepts maxicare. Wasn't able to get prices of her vaccines though as her secretary doesn't have a copy of it. Anyway, I'll visit her soon. Sana ok sha for me and my son.

yes sis, she's into homeopathic meds. she prescribes natural meds, some she even makes on her own.
