Please help, my baby is constipated! at may blood sa poop nya

Hi mga sis,

help me please...first time mom po...un 6month old son ko kasi, lagi cya constipated.  pinapainom namin cya water pero konti lang cya uminom talaga...we tried using suppositories pero iyak din sya pag lalagay mo un.

kanina daw nag poop sabi ng hubby ko (nasa work ako ngayon)...at medyo may konting blood daw...kahapon, sa pedia nya, sabi painumin daw ng yakult si baby when I asked her about sa constipation nya...di naman nag advise pedia na ichange un milk nya... basta water at yakult daw dahil pede naman daw un yakult sa kanya...

what can I do aside from that???

Anong milk niya?

When my baby turned 6 months old, we switched her from similac he to gain advance plus. She got constipated. We switched back to similac hw muna kasi pwede naman ito up to 12 months. Then when she turned 9 months, pedia said to try gain advance plus daw ulit. Mas ok. Baka daw i niya ma-procces yung gain when she was 6 months kaya na-constipate.

When we switched her to gain plus advance when she turned 1, na-constipate nanaman so mas madaming water than the recommended ratio pag nagtimpla ng milk niya as advised by the pedia din.

baka yun blood dahil sa nahirapan magpoop, switch milk na sis kahit  advice ng pedia mother knows best ganyan ginawa ko, si baby bonna lang milk niya pero super healthy, wag na yakulit sis use erceflora nalang mix 1 vial sa milk or painom mong direct

Sis, most likely baka kaya may blood is because may na-rupture na tissue because of the stool na nahihirapan ilabas. Kawawa ang baby pag ganyan, diba kahit sa adults ang hirap ng feeling?

When my daughter got constipated, I gave her oatmeal and papaya. Pero she was already 9 months that time, I'm not sure kung pwede na sa baby mo since 6 months pa lang sya. Try increasing the water proportion of his milk. Let's say 3 scoops of milk for a 6 oz bottle, gawin mong 7 oz na lang yung water. Also, I also read somewhere na adding corn syrup on the water can help soften the stool.

sis i suggest switch milk..one sign na hindi hiyang ang baby sa milk pag constipated siya..

kung fresh ang blood na lumabas nasugat lang pwet ni baby kaya may dugo...

ok lang na mag yakult sis kaso lang i think medyo baby pa siya for yakult e...

daughter ko din before ganyan, super constipated, yun pala dahil sa appebon..try changing her medicines. hope this helps. btw, iron causes constipation.

Naku sis ang baby ko lagi ding constipated before, i tried a lot of milk when she turns 1 at so far nahiyang sya sa NAN PRO Three. My previous pedia said its not good to lessen the milk na hinahalo painumin daw ng madaming tubig.
Naku pag 1day na ngskip magpopoo si baby naku panic na ako kc sigurado matigas na yun, kaya soft diet sya like lugaw, then water effective naman. Then less ang saging at apple.

Your baby at 6mos is still too young for Yakult.

Now Lang na siya nag-constipate? Cause if only now it is possible na baka its not the formula. Kasi if formula dapat dati pa comstipated na siya bec of it. Is he on solids already? Cause aside from the milk, you might have introduced a solid food that does not agree with him tummy hence the constipation.

hello guys.. i am a pedia, i just wanna be of help..

the sad truth is.. constipation is very common sa mga bottle fed na babies.
babies tummy is really designed for breastfeeding, pag brestfed and baby kahit di sya gaano uminom ng water, di sya magiging constipated.

Give him/ her an ounce or two of prune or apple juice by bottle, cup, or spoon. Increase her intake of fruits (other than bananas) and veggies.

Stick a rectal thermometer in his/her rectum and hold it there for a little while. It might make your baby a little uncomfortable but it causes him/her to clamp down on the thermometer with his/her rectal muscles which, in turn, will help move things along in the intestinal tract.

You can also try to massage the rectal area to stimulate blood flow, especially if you see that you're baby is starting to poop na.

thanks for the input.  Bonamil na cya ngaun eh, kasi bonna milk nya nun 0-5 months cya sabi ng pedia nya wag na daw ichange un milk nya since ok un bigat nya...

ayaw nya ng yakult so pinainom ko ng bear brand priobiotics na strawberry, sa dropper ko nilalagay... so far magmula last week ok naman un pag poop nya at pinaiinom ko cya ng 25ml water kada hour (madalas di nya nauubos un water konting sip lang pero ok na din).  i tried giving him apple juice na may water, pero sip lang din ginawa nya...

sis marty_0214, kahit anong prune juice ba ok lang?? un mga nasa grocery pwede na ba un?

sis chirichan, san ba nabibili un erceflora? parang yakult din ba ito? di ako familiar dito eh

yes sis, any brand will do, basta in moderation lang ang bigay ha.. wag biglain si baby.
di din pwede sobra nyan coz baka mag loose naman ang stool nya.. take care!

erceflora sis sa mercury nabibili yun, probiotics din siya na parang nebules ang lalagyan

ah okie ask ko nga mamaya un erceflora sa mercury...

tapos bili na din ako ng prune juice.  kagabi nag poop na naman si baby, tapos ayun mejo matigas cya, nakakaawa at baka magka almoranas cya eh un ang takot ko

^is he on solids already? You might have introduced a food that's causing it. Like my son he gets constipate if he eats too much carrots.

sis hunny, yup nagsolids na cya, cerelac (un rice & soya, saka un monggo & soya), tapos mga pureed na gulay at fruits...

actually constipated na cya ng konti before, saka minsan 2 days di cya nagpoop pero sabi ng mga doc (3 na naconsultan namin), painumin lang ng more water...

un pedia nga nya na bago (un nakaraan na punta namin), sabi yakult daw..eh ayaw nya sa lasa ng yakult kaya I tried un nestle probiiotics na strawberry, sa dropper pinapainum namin mga 4ml...

mejo constipated pa din...yesterday at kanina I tried giving him erceflora, sa mercury nga ako nakabili...sana naman mag effect cya, ala prune juice ako nakita eh bibili din sana ako...kanina bumili ako ng small can ng Nan HW, kasi may nabasa ako na pag hirap i digest ang milk at constipated dapat hydrolyzed whey daw ang milk kaya try ko un painom sa kanya, pag ok cya sa Nan HW, un na lang milk nya...

^ Have you consulted a pediatric gastroenterologist already? If this has been a constant problem for you and your baby, it would be best to bring him to a pedia gastro to determine the cause of the constipation.
It is important kasi to determine the cause so that proper management can be instituted.
With all due respect to your current pedia, I would have to disagree with giving yakult as early as 6 months of age. Yakult, although a very good probiotic product, is a dairy product and thus, should not be introduced to babies less than 1 year of age. Same with the strawberry flavored Nestle probiotics. Strawberry is a highly allergenic fruit. Thus, it should not be introduced to babies less than 1 year of age.

oo nga ano sa pedia gastro, pede...may kakilala ba kayo pedia gastro na ok mga sis??? hehe

3rd day na nya uminom ng erceflora, yesterday nagpoop daw sabi ng mom ko at di naman cya umiyak although umiri pa din. kanina nagpoop at matigas pa din na buo un poop nya...pero himala uminom cya ng madami water kahapon at kanina...


naawa na talaga ako baka kasi magkaron ng hemorrhoids eh

How old na sis ang baby mo? My son had his visit sa gastro before kinapa yung tyan niya. Constipated daw. Binigyan ng suppository na dulcolax. Once a day for three days. Nagconstipate siya because of the chocolate flavored milk kaya resh milk nalang siya ngayon.

sis, have your baby take enough water. after milk, water. wag puro milk. kaya may blood kasi nagagasgas yung passage for the stool dahil super tigas ng poop. wag ka magbibigay ng kung [textspeak!] anung gamot. kung hindi ka satisfied, better address it to your pedia as well as yung milk kung need palitan.

brandi, sis, un pedia nya kasi sabi continue na lang un milk at more water nga daw, tapos bigyan din daw ng yakult to aid in digestion. so far, kahapon at ngaun nakakainom na cya ng medyo madami daming water, plus i am giving him erceflora once a day. tinry ko ipainom un Nan HA na binili ko nun isang araw (bonamil kasi milk nya) kaso ayaw nya ata ng lasa ng Nan kasi niluluwa nya kahit konti pa lang na-sip nya, tapos ayaw inumin kaya parang sayang lang un Nan HA.

buti na lang maliit na can lang un nabili ko...
