Presence is enough. But if pipilitin Cash!

Pero I won't mind a new tablet, psp or gadget. Madaling ibulsa.

(Taray!)

Yay finished na! Update lang ako. We received about less than 10 gifts! Sobrang love namin lahat! We got super awesome pillows, a hardcore cutlery set, some baking stuff (kasama sa wishlist!), a rice cooker (classic, may feeling kami if you don't receive at least one of this, baka malas hahaha!), bedsheets (awesome too kasi we don't really want to go out and shop for this na), preorders of the expansion of the game we both love and we've been waiting for (yaaay! nasa wishlist din!), and the rest cash gifts na :)

Dito sa Singapore if you attend a Chinese wedding wala talaga nag bibigay ng gifts other than monetary and nakakatawa man there is even a website na nakalagay na guideline on how much you are supposed to give based on the hotel saan i held yung reception. Then dun sa registration table may drop box dun mo hulog yung Ang Pao :-)

Sis IronLady, di ko alam yung sa butal pero kung monetary gift, silent rule ay equal to or greater than per head cost ng reception.

Pag mayaman na yung couple, wala bang gift registry? Hehe
Pwede din yung something unique, nasa interests nila, o yung gawa mo especially for them.

May ganun ding guideline. May range of amount depending on the level of your closeness to the couple. Kapag acquaintance lang kayo or not very close friends, hindi pwedeng malaki ang ibigay :P

hello! i've heard of this similar practice from a friend who works in vietnam. pag mas mahal and mas sosyal reception place, the higher dapat ang cash gift  :P buti na lang, it's not a practice here though i would prefer to receive cash. and pag invited, i appreciate it that the couple writes sa invite that they prefer cash too

Hi!

Just married. ;)

Well, we put this in our invites since both of us are going abroad.

With all that we have, weve been blessed,
Your presence and and prayers are all that we request,
But if you desire to give nonetheless,
Monetary gift is one we suggest.

based sa mga nababasa ko na wedding etiquette, it is not appropriate daw to put in the invitation na No Boxed gifts (or something to that effect), or yung mga gift registry.

kaya ako I will opt to put something of a poem to inform them that we prefer cash... pero hindi naman maiiwasan na may magdala pa din ng gifts pero at least ma-miminimize yung pagkakapare-pareho ng mga gifts... :)

So hindi ako nahirapan magdala pauwi from reception. To think na may dala pa kami gown and yung gamit namin before the wedding and mga accessories pa.  Nagkasya lahat sa isang taxi. :D
