E
With all that we have  we’ve been truly blessed.
Your presence and prayers are all that we request.
But if you desire to give, nonetheless.
Monetary gift is one we suggest.

kami din mas preferred ang cash.. this is my choice sa mga binigay ni sis katrinac  :)

LOL Cash siyempre kasi we're having a house built sana. But there is absolutely no way are we putting that on our invites :) Word of mouth na lang din from our moms (who are more kapal about these things). We also like gift certs para exciting :)

We did ask guests to give cash as gifts and they did follow:-) I guess depends on how you put it sa invite. Ours was like a poem but no monetary or cash word nakalagay:-)

It's okay naman. For us we invited really close family and friends and the best part was we didn't worry about the hassles of bringing gifts at home and we get to buy what we like for our condo and save for our honeymoon:-)

this is me lang ha, i thought about this long and hard kasi before i wanted to put something sa invites but i thought it was tacky.

for me kasi, it seems some people spend more than what they can afford in a wedding thinking na they can opt to ask for cash as wedding gifts to make bawi sa gastos. in the first place, dapat you spend what you can afford lang on a wedding without breaking the bank or computing what you might receive from the guests.

gifts kasi are token of appreciation for spending that special day with you.

Honestly at times I find it weird talaga na there are some couples who are having their bonggang bonggang kasal as in luxury lahat tapos biglang sasabihin na gifts are appreciated but we prefer cash.  ??? Parang huh?

I find those poems, kahit pa sobrang ganda pagkaka-compose, tacky. The end--you are still asking for money. We all prefer money. But I will not put that 'blatantly' in an invite.

I would tell to friends that I prefer money at ia-assume ko na lang na ikakalat nila LOLS

I wrote  "The couple will be residing abroad after the wedding"

I like this idea though :) Completely true sa case namin  heheh

i think cash talaga ang the best unless you want to surprise the couple with the latest gadget which is handy and easy to wrap.

but if it is a usual gift then it will be a burden to the couple... syempre if it is bulky bka mag rent pa sila ng van para lang maiuwi sa house yun. or if sa house ang reception then san naman nila i-store yung mga yun? baka mapuno pa ang bodega nila. hehe

we didn't put anything in our invites and we still got 70% of our total spend for the wedding back through cash gifts. i think you don't have to be blatant about it, people will know and it will turn them off if you out it in the invite. it's an invitation, not a wishlist.

^Exactly the point, kahit ako natuturn off kapa nakakabasa ako na gifts are appreciated but we prefer cash tapos everything were luxuries from Church to Reception. Hindi ko naman minamasa pero that is really how I feel na at times hindi ko malaman kung they really want us to be the witness of their celebration of marriage or it is because they need something that is why they are inviting us. I respect the decision of others if they want to give cash kay mahirap or mayaman. But in my case I feel awkward na nagbibigay ako ng cash sa mayaman whereas ako pa nga ang mas nangangailangan. Sa mga unstable or yung mga budgeted maiintindihan ko pa if they indicate it.

Okay lang kapag sinabi na both presence and cash are appreciated huwag naman yung gifts appreciate sabay may word na BUT we need cash na parang sinasabing we are expecting more from you.

for those who are going overseas mas practical talaga kapag cash diba alangan naman i fedex mo pa yung mga gifts mo  ;D But for those who are getting married you can go to Rustan's naman and request to be listed para your guest will have a clue what to buy and if you happen to receive a gift from Rustan's and you don't like it pwede mong ibalik sa kanila as long as the bar code is there, you can change it with gift cert or other merchandise.

^That’s what we’re doing, a gift registry in Rustan’s. We prefer cash talaga, but we’ll never, ever say it. Although we do understand why some need to imply their preference for cash, esp those residing abroad. But kami we can’t bring ourselves to do that talaga.

I’ve been to maybe two weddings where there was a “honeymoon fund” instead of cash/gift. Is that the uso thing now? Hehe.

I give gift cards.

Kaya yung iba gift naipapamigay. In our  case tinago ng parents ko lahat. Na yung iba until now gamit pa rin namin. Yung iba nasira na hindi nagagamit like blender, wall clock etc. hehe. Maganda talaga cash or gift check para the couple can choose their own wedding gift at sure na magiging useful sa kanila.

As we have most of the things we require,
Some money for bigger things is what we desire.
You can place it in our treasure chest,
And we will buy for what is best.
Now that we’ve saved you all the fuss,
We hope you’ll come and celebrate with us.

Thanks, Sis!

Jeannef I totally agree with you. Sige given fact na yung iba kasi mag aabroad so most likely they are preferring cash. But then the result is still the same na at times understandable but then sa iba nakakaturn off pa rin. I also agree na yung presence itself ang mismong pinakamahalagang gift. ??? I told my boyfriend about it na hindi dapat sila magreklamo tapos my bf even defend again na kesyo Ninang raw yun, sabi ko kahit na! Pagiging Ninang is not about giving gifts and they are not even obligated to do that. Na I have a second thought if my mom is obliged to give money.

But again same feeling rin natuturn off rin ako.

As for us ni hubby, syempre we prefer cash. We bought a townhouse and the turn over date is right after our wedding *fingers crossed*.

Given the circumstances na hindi kalakihan yung nabili namin, mas okay on our part na cash para at least, yung gamit and appliances na mabibili namin is fit and magmamatch sa future home namin.

With regards sa paglalagay nun sa invitation, for us we have decided na hindi na yun ilalagay kasi parang ang awkward ng dating. And since family and friends naman yung invited, alam naman na nila yung case namin at kung ano ang kailangan namin in starting a new journey in our life. Ang dating kasi sa amin kapag nilalagay pa sa invitation yung 'we prefer cash/monetary gifts etc' is parang ininvite mo sila kasi you are expecting something in return.

Sa doble doble issue naman, since family and friends naman sila for sure mag uusap-usap at magtatanungan naman sila kung ano ireregalo ng bawat isa or kung as group na sila. Even sa part namin kapag may ikakasal naguusap sila mama, titas and titos kung ano mga ireregalo nila para iwas doble nga tsaka iniiwasan nila magregalo nung common gifts like plates, bed sheets, flat irons and the likes para daw just in case na yung friends nung bride and groom yun yung maisipan na gifts.

And ang trend naman na ngayon is monetary gifts, even my mom prefers to give cash sa mga newly weds kasi alam nya yun ang mas kailangan this generation. Alam naman na nila yung mas need ng newly wed so for me hindi na talaga need pa ilagay sa invitation yun.
