20 reasons why I dislike Philippines

The way we work there is that we share our ideas and everyone else is free to pitch in and add something. -- A lot of the people who work there are Filipinos, btw. Including me.

Jimmy just took the bullet because he was in front of the camera. The dudes been an actor ever since I met him, and what people just don't get is that he was playing a character.

Here in OZ, ang ayos talaga ng buhay.  Sobrang ganda ng langit, hangin etc...

although I have a lot of complaints against Philippines (as in talong talo to OZ), pero Philippines is still home to me kahit bulok or ano pa.  There's no place like home.

sis, in this world, there are 2 kinds of truth: perceived truth and actual truth.

nobody cares about actual truth because PERCEIVED truth is more important AND it is the kind of truth that you CAN'T control.

hence, big companies, big people whether in business, religion, media etc exercise RESPONSIBILITY...and this includes ACTORS. and this is why big actors always choose what to say, side with, chose how to dress or behave, etc, because its not only about their image, it is also about jiving with society's standards. (perceived standards).

and this is something that your friend has to learn. From the way i see it, Jimmy took a bullet for the Philippines. and for me it is really a no brainer, to criticize the Philippines in public will surely raise hairs. and it's an old strategy - gumamit ng puti para makuha atensyon ng mga pinoy. strategy or not, aminin o sa hindi, yan ang lumalabas. at yan ang NAKIKITA.

the perceived truth, you have almost no control on this. kahit mag sorry pa kayo. but by now you have seen how the consciousness of the masses works.

but one thing is for sure:  madaling makalimot ang pinoy.

im not going to deny this. we have gotten quite a lot of hits on our own videos because of the incident, and have earned money off of it. imagine how much the director earned from it. all those ad hits must've earned him close to 10kUSD

not saying you're wrong either, because my friend has learned his lesson. while everyone else were happy they were earning and getting popularity from it, he, on the other hand, was in hot water. wasn't too happy with the way things went down.

Yes, i do agree on that. That he's the one who took the bullet . He don't deserve to be treated bad because of that video. I guess makakalimutan rin ng Filipino yung issue. In fact ako ngayon eh hindi talaga na offend sa video. I hope he's doing okay and let us just move on.

kapag ba may kausap kang badbreath..

a little courtesy goes a long way.. kahit anong race ka pa..

This country is great. What is not so great about this country is our cultural and political elite. They're too focused on their personal whims and caprice. Walang sense of duty to country kumbaga. Para saan pa na nag aaral yang mga yan sa ibang bansa kung hindi naman sila tutulong para i-raos ang bayan!

like yung recent habagat, ang dami basura na naglabasan, tapos sino sisisihin? government. tsk.. hell no. maling mali. umpisahan natin ang discipline sa sarili naitn.

i don't dislike the Philippines.  it's just that there isn't much opportunity available to improve one's status.   there's this big discrepancy in the quality of life between the haves and the have nots, parang extreme ends of the spectrum.

Kahit gaano sabihin ng iba na umuunlad tayo, hinde ako naniniwala coz everytime na nagbabakasyon ako, which is almost twice a year, pahirap nang pahirap ang pilipinas. Wala akong nakikitang pagbabago. At pamahal nang pamahal ang mga bilihin as in. naiisip ko, pano na kaya yung ibang hinde nagtataas ng sahod sa pinas? How can they cope with all these price increases?

korek, disciplina ang kelangan. pero matagal na namang alam ng mga pinoy yan eh.   wala kasing matinong leader, sa totoo lang.

Kahit naman siguro matino ang leader, kung ang subordinates eh walang disiplina, wala rin.

I find lang na ang mga Pinoy are too sensitive sa mga ganitong issue. And let's face it there's some t truth to this. Maybe instead of bashing the guy, it's a wake up call to realize what are the ailments of our society.

ang Indonesia mas corrupt pa kesa sa pilipinas pero mas progresibo. that's one the examples we must realize na the very idea of "corruption" is being used as a scapegoat for the failure of a functioning democracy in the philippines.

i think we have to dig deeper through our national psyche to know why, of south east asian countries, mejo bulakbol pa din ang pilipinas. I think it boils down to our premature level of what may be called the "leisure class".

Unlike other 'leisure classes' in other countries (a.k.a elite) who become philosophers, scientists, cultural aesthetes, yung leisure class naten is more devoted to entertaining the masses rather than engaging into speculative pursuits.

makikita naten ito sa forms of entertainment naten -- gay shows, movie sensuality, drama, sigawan etc etc which soften and effeminize our national spirit.

we are too much of an emotional people.

I love my country but I disliked it due to the Politics and Government na nagpapalala sa situation natin.

naisip ko lang. kaya siguro hinde nawawala ang corruption sa atin kasi pag nangyaring mawala nga ito, wala ng magagamit ang mga trapo during their campaign period.

for me, corruption is not the main root of philippine failure and poverty. kahit saan, may corruption pero umuunland naman ang mga bansa nila. may pagbabago.

ayoko din yung pagiging over sensitive natin kahit totoo naman yung mga observation ng ibang tao. tulad ng sinabi ni claire danes during the late 90s, sabi nya madumi daw ang manila. hala galit na galit ang mga pinoy pero nagtataka ako bakit eh sinasabi lang naman nya nakikita nya, which was madumi naman talaga.

yes maraming ibang bansa na corrupt.

nako maraming kailangan baguhin sa pinas. oligarchs aside.

problem is kaya ba tanggapin ng pinoy? makikita ba ng pinoy?

AAMIN ba ang pinoy? magpapakumbaba ba ang pinoy?
