20 reasons why I dislike Philippines

well, i cringe while watching the video hehe.. a lot of cuss words and the annoying word itself kaya na-annoy din ako. but basically, totoo naman, mahirap lang kasi mapamukha yun mali. americans are blunt, tayo kasi ayaw natin makasakit ng damdamin kaya reyna tayo ng sugar-coating.

so, ano na? we watched and formed our opinions, then what? [textspeak!] no need na to wait for government to watch and do something about it. pwede naman sa atin na magsimula ang pagbabago. ika nga ni jfk: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.... simulan natin sa plastic, kahit ba hindi pa plastic free sa buong pilipinas, eh di let's make it a point na i-practice na natin na me dala na tayong sariling eco bag pag namimili... ano pa ba? wag basta magtapon ng basura sa kalsada, mga ganong bagay...

i think alam naman ng middle class and upper middle class. its the lower 70% that's the problem. yung cultura din nananaig. walang tissue kasi ang tissue ninanakaw. kaya nagbabaon na lang ang mga tao.

mag lagay ka nga lang ng poso sa tabi niyo, hindi magtatagal maraming tao kung saan lupalop makiki igib ng tubig sa inyo.

tao ang magchachange. the gov't has its part but kahit anong tigas pa ng gov't. nasa masa ang problem.

if we want to see change at least for the next generation (it's too late for this generation, imo), the education system must be overhauled and inculcate more values and love for one's country.

^sis, kahit educated ang tao ay hindi pa rin magbabago yun (like pagtatapon ng basura) kasi culture na yun..

ang tingin ko para mabago ang pinas, talagang magsimula sa leaders.. punta ka sa ibang part ng pinas, hindi naman ganto tulad sa manila.. tama ba na good example dito ay marikina at subic?

Correct sis, siguro kung may mabigat na punishment for those mahilig magkalat ng basura ay baka walang magtapon ng basura sa kalye  . Kinaugalian na kasi ng pinoy na gawing basurahan ang buong kalsada. Good thing yung ibang establishments like SM ay may no plastic bag day sila sa grocery nila then sa Handyman naman no plastic bag every friday .

Pansin ko lang pag sa sariling bansa natin natatapon or pasaway ang mga pinoy, pero pag once na nasa ibang bansa sila ay super behave at sumusunod sa batas  .

So I found out Cebu City's councilors are declaring "persona non grata" on Jimmy, which I don't get.

Are they really going to waste their time and energy on that, rather than fixing their place? Does that change anything?

The subject video that was aired was made in good faith and as a legitimate and reasonable execise of my right, "freedom of expression". There was no intention to scrutinize the city nor the people that governs the same. It's an honest observation and opinion that I myself think needs to be worked on not just specifically in Cebu. These are little things that we see around us as normal people and from the eyes of an ordinary man like me. ^^ grabe naman sila. they're just wasting their time and resources by  declaring Jimmy a "persona non grata". dapat iimprove na lang nila yung mga nakitang mali ni Jimmy. pikon masyado yung iba, di man lang nila isipin na pwede pang ayusin mga nakita ni Jimmy.

Kelangan magbago ng presidente natin. Kelangan natin ng disciplinarian na presidente para mahigpitan ang mga alagad nya para maging faithful sa trabaho.

Well, it doesnt sum up the entire Philippines, yun yung mejo unfair don, but it's this right to air his opinion about the country anyway. Masaydo sigurong natamaan yung mga nag-react ng hinde maganda. I think they should just take it as constructive criticism and work in improving the country kesa mag-obsess sa issue na yan. This isnt the first time a foreigner said something negative to the country.

In my point of view, Jimmy is not the only foreigner who thinks about the negative side of our country, lahat ng nasa video niya ay very true. Siguro kaya nag declare sila ng persona non grata is because they felt na napahiya yung mga kinatawan ng Cebu dahil it's their home town. Sis may i ask if sa Cebu lang ba siya persona non grata or is it Philippines ba?

i know those guys personally and ive worked with them and that site -- they're cool people who stayed here long because they love the philippines.

cuss words? c'mon, are people still so offended by the word "f***"? whose problem is that, then?


i have the same complaints about the Philippines. heck, that was even tame. how about if he said these --

"Filipinas trying to get me to marry them and bring them to the US to feed their entire clan?"

"Fuucking taxi drivers abusing the fact i'm a foreigner and charges me 10x the meter?"

"In fact -- just Filipinos thinking i'm an ATM and have a lot of money because i'm fuucking white."


instead, he stuck to what we would've said and complained about, everyday, to ourselves. and of course it would be sarcastic, and he'd be pissed. wouldn't you be? also... see: the video's title. 

what sucks, i think is that i know that if a Filipino hosted that video instead of him -- it wouldn't matter so much. which means, we don't value our own countryman's opinions... and that we are so concerned with being liked by these foreigners.

i think yung mga politicians na medyo OA ang react, kaya sila ganoon kasi naman nakakahiya talaga and dating nila....san napupunta yung pera ng lugar nila? proves na sa bulsa lang nila kaya yung mga simple things na sinabi ni jimmy sa video di nila maayos agad...

sobra kasing corrupt ng bansa natin...it sucks talaga...

If im jimmy i would never apologize, nagsabi lang naman ako ng totoo, masama ba maging honest. Sa halip na mag over react, magwork na lang for the better. napapansin ko sa ating mga pilipino pag may problema laging gobyerno sinisisi. pwede rin naman na tayo na rn mismo ang mag-umpisa ng pagbabago. example na lang yung plastic, pwede naman siguro natin sabihin sa kahera na hwag ng ilagay sa plastic or magdala tayo ng eco bags natin or bayong.

napansin ko lang sa taong yun, ang dami nyang issue sa buhay. pati ba naman pagtilaok ng manok inirereklamo pa nya. ano gagawin natin tatakpan natin beak ng roaster katulad ng sa aso para di sila tumilaok.

natural lang naman sa tao ang magreklamo pero may ways naman tayo para ilabas yung reklamo natin di ba??? we tell our friends, family pero bat kailangan pang i youtube. tayo ba pag may rekamo tayo sa ibang bansa do we post it in youtube and generalize an entire country. madami tayong reklamo sa boss natin pero dapat bang ilagay natin sa youtube, what more a country.

lahat naman ng bansa may maganda at may pangit eh. and that what makes it unique and special.

philippines is my home and i find it very rude for someone to visit my home and tell people what he doesnt like about my home. kahit na nakatira ako sa ibang bansa for many years pilipinas pa rin ang tahanan ko na babalik-balikan ko kahit ano pa mangyari.

dito sa ibang bansa pag may naringgan silang nagrereklamo ka sa bansa nila sasabihan ka nila right there and then bumalik ka sa bansa mo. ke totoo man yun or hindi sasabihan ka nila bumalik ka sa bansa mo.

kaya para sa taong ito, bumalik sya sa pinaggalingan nya. hindi kailangan ng pilipinas na hamakin tayo sa sarili nating bansa.

tapos may sinabi pa syang bago pumunta ng pilipinas mag-isip-isip muna. ang mga foreigner bago pumunta ng ibang bansa ang mga yan nire-research muna nila ang bansa na iyon tapos ito makikita nila. so maaappektuhan na rin ang tourism ng bansa.

nalaman ko lang ito dahil may canadian friend ako na natira sa pilipinas ng 2 yrs at tinawagan ako na may nakita nga sya sa youtube nitong guy na ito and she was upset about it...isipin nyo canadian sya pero upset sya sa sinabi ng guy na ito about s bansa natin...sabi nya its very rude na sinabi nya yun at ni youtube pa, because she loves the philippines...kung sya nagalit at ibang lahi nya what more tayong pilipino....tahanan natin ito!

dapat sa sa taong yan...ipahalik sa lahat ng ladyboy sa pilipinas ng matauhan sya...dami nyang reklamo sa buhay!

sa mga tao kaya na nagalit, na-offend sa youtube video na yan, ilan ang gumawa ng paraan to make the philippines a better place?

ang hirap kasi sa atin, ayaw natin na nasisita tayo. hindi tayo accountable sa kapalpakan natin. we should learn to take criticisms and use them to make us better. i get na mahal natin ang pilipinas, pero magpakatotoo tayo, there is so much more to improve.
