Turbo Broiler / Convection Oven
« on: March 08, 2012, 11:16:16 am »
Hi sisses! I'm planning to buy an electric oven but I do have a turbo convection oven na regalo nung wedding namin ni hubby. Gusto ko sana muna i-try mag bake sa convection oven para hindi sayang yung pera since nabasa ko sa ibang blogs na pwede mag bake using it and I'll just be baking for my family lang naman kaya hindi required yung maramihang pag bake. Anyone who has tried it? Pa-share na rin ng recipes sisses. Thank you! :)

^^For our new year's eve handa, I borrowed my mom's Halogen Oven (Turbo/Convection oven) so we can have Baked Lasagna. Ok naman. Similar sa result using a gas oven. Today, I used it again to bake White King's Butterscotch Brownies. Ok din ang result. :)

sis almaantones, hindi ko pa natry yung chiffon cake. so far, ang natry ko palang are cupcakes, chocolate cake and vanilla cake. alam ko pwede rin mag bake nung mga nabanggit mo, not sure lang kung anong temp ang gagamitin.

^hi sis! na try ko na rin gumawa ng lasagna using my turbo oven.. it was a hit. :)

I've been baking numerous times on our almost 5months old turbo broiler. Imarflex sya.

sis Dhee-dhee, im not sure kung ano ang difference ng turbo convection oven sa normal convection oven. but for me, as long as convection oven, mas tipid sya sa kuryente compared to other oven for baking and mas mabilis ang cooking time nya.

Baka masyadong mataas yung temp mo. Maybe what you can do is lower the temp by 10-15C then cover mo nalang ng foil. Mas maige yung longer baking time at lesser temp kaysa high temp at shorter time. If you really want, bili ka ng oven thermometer.

^ thanks sis, try ko next time habaan baking time. binabaan ko na yung temp last time tsaka may cover na ng foil, pero hilaw pa din gitna. siguro dapat nga mas tagal kong ibake.

You're welcome. :)

I'm contemplating on buying a mini-oven soon.

As promised, some pics ng maaayos kong gawa sa turbo. Kasi nga hit or miss sya atsaka kailangan medyo mas binabantayan
kaysa oven.

Chocolate Cake with Earl Grey Ganache

Lava Cake dapat to, naging Cupcakes kasi masyado tumagal sa heat
(*see, dapat binabantayan sya talaga dapat lalo sa ganitong recipes)

Blueberry Tart

Mango Coconut Upside Down Cake
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/5909/10101751.jpg

And an original, I call it Bibingcake. :)
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1083/1006354a.jpg

Hope ma-encourage ko kayo. Wag nyo lang kakalimutan talaga takpan if if gets too brown or else masusunog yung part na exposed sa heat.
At thermometer. :)

Good luck!

Thanks sis. :)

Eto ulit weekend project, :)

Peanut Butter, Strawberry, Raisin Rolls topped with Muscovado Glaze, more Raisins, and Chopped Cashew.

http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/8427/10102121r.jpg

Ganito ang set-up ko usually:
http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/6561/10102001.jpg

Most of the time, naka-150°C lang sya, according sa thermometer.

Spring-based thermometer lang kasi ang gamit ko, iba pa yung mercury based na thermometer which is mas accurate kaysa spring-based.

Ang Turbo BROILER with convection function means BROIL function na may fan to circulate the heat.

Ang normal na convection oven, usually nasa gilid ang convection/fan function and may top & bottom heat source, may choice din kayo kung top or bottom heat lang ang gagana and if naka-on or off yung convection/fan function.

Natutunan ko yung broil sa kakapanood ng cooking shows sa TLC, wherein ang pinaka-usual application ng broil is for melting the cheese on top of a dish and I've worked for food companies before.

Kaya remember, Broil is top heat source, convection is fan function to let the hot air rotate around. Wag nyo rin kakalimutan na takpan ang ibbake nyo sa middle ng baking and use the extension ring para hindi uber init at ma-shock yung baked goodies.

Ito ba?
http://www.citrusstv.com/gero3_files_pub/products/1641_393705_extralarge.jpg
Extension ring ito. Pang-dagdag volume sa loob if ever malaki ang niluluto or like kung malaki yung manok. In my case, para hindi masyadong mainit or kumbaga madagdagan yung space kung saan magfflow yung hot air.

Experiment ulit. Mango Pan de Coco :)
http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/7295/10104751.jpg

Instead of rolling it out, I thought of doing the siopao technique. :)
