I refuse to speng my money on things I reallt do not need. Like expensive clothes, gadgets, etc. I prefer to spend my money sa food and things na kailangan talaga ng family ko. Siguro nag iba narin yung mind set ko because I am a mother now. Hindi na ako gaya ng dati na nakikisunod sa uso. Yung tipong kung may damit na uso ngayon e kailangan meron din ako. hehe

^same here sis, I find myself spending more on food now and activities for the whole family before puros material things (clothes, shoes, accessories) I dont end up using all of them naman, sayang lang.

Even sa food - we love to eat out but I dont spend on ridiculously priced restos, you're basically just paying for the brand name.

I subscribe to postpaid, not because the savings is significant (nor is it more than what I previously spent on prepaid plus capital on a phone) but it works better for cashflow. Mas mura [textspeak!] units when bundled with a plan. Marami namang plan options ngayon so you can still save via the unli promos etc.

uber expensive bags... i have some, mostly gifts from dad (pasalubong always from trips nya sa labas)... kapag luma na, no matter how expensive, di ko na feel gamitin or di na sya as ganda as before... the value of the bag mababa na. it's NOT an investment. so it is just a waste of money for me. when bf gifted me with an expensive bag for my birthday this year, di ko feel... kahit free. feeling ko nasayang pera niya. but of course, di ko sinabi kasi ma-huhurt yun...

--upgrading gadgets, like right now, i'm still using my old iphone 3, kahit nagsilabasan na ang iphone4, 4s, 5 or may lalabas na na bago, as long as ok pa phone ko and i'm just goin to pay half the price of it coz added na sa plan, nevermind!

--expensive brand of make up, i've watched in dr.oz show 6mos up of keeping your make up isn't healthy na daw. since occasionally lang naman ako nag make up. just bought the affordable ones, i discard it after 6mos. kahit di pa sya ubos. pencils and lipstick after a yr. since shelf life nya is up to 18mos.

4. Cellphones - dahil nga di naman magagamit madalas.

1. Home decors like jars and figurines that collect dust and eat space.

2. Home appliances that exceed basic size.

4. Shoes that hurt my feet.

5. Jewelry that causes allergic reactions.

6. Cakes and pastries that tempt me to eat more.

7. Expensive cooking tools/utensils that are seldom used.

8. Expensive plates and bowls that break.

9. Network marketing products that cost more than they should because of multiple level commissions.

10. Full-priced airfare and accommodation.

• inuman sa birthday party - damn! bakit kaylangan pasayahin ang kapit-bahay kung pwede naman kaming mag-out of town na lang for the same price
• clothes for myself - kung para sa kids at kay hubby, may ceiling price lang 
• branded baby/toddler items - what for? meron naman same quality but lower ang price
• service charge ng bank at credit cards
• international text rates - pwede naman mag-YM sa phone.

kapag may anak na, nagiiba na talaga nag tao...
now, i refuse to spend money on the following:
1. alak/night outs- hindi na kasi practical. ibiliko na lang ng milk and nappies ni baby
2. out of towns- well, sa ngayon ito ha. kasi maliit pa baby ko ang bukod sa budget eh mahirap to travel with toddlers.
3. gadgets- i stay away from people with ipads, adroid phones, etc. kasi mapapabili talaga ako. as of now, hindi ito ang priority ko so yes, self-deprivation muna
4. fancy food - practicality wise, hindi na muna. ilalabas dina naman yan. as long as hindi naman ako nagugutom and i still get to eat healthy food, ok na yun for now
