And how much yung cheapest room with aircon? Dun na nga kami siguro mag stay sa Raymen ulit. I'm sure our 2 year old toddler will enjoy it there. The last time I went there kasi was 3 years ago nung namanhikan parents ni hubby. hehe

thanks sa tip sis, may latest comment sa baras beach resort, last month lang kaya ekis na lang sila s alist ko... im considering costa aguada or la puerta, pero parang mas gusto ko yung costa kasi may office dito sa manila, mas madali makipag coordinate, tapos mas mura pa yung rooms nila kaysa sa la puerta. but still i will compare comments and blogs about them.

temporarily close daw ang la puerta starting end of june... sayang! any other recommendations mga sis??? main island sana... kasi masyado daw malayo ang costa aguada... may kasama pa naman kaming toddler.

melmedrano... that was a consideration for us too, yung ibang resorts looked really lovely kaso ayaw ko ng malayo sa civilization kasi nga we had kids.  And yun nga, cellphone signal was necessary if you cannot find another one, there's always raymen or villa igang

KIZ... it's at Pit Stop, a restaurant that you pass by on the way to Raymen or back to the wharf and I think their lowest aircon room costs P1350 (good for 2 pax, w/o hot/cold shower)

im also considering raymen, pero di naman sila macontact... ok ba yung rooms nila, im particular with two things lang... bed size (at least double or queen size, co-sleep kasi si baby) and functional toilet and bath. Kung may contact number naman kayo ng raymen, pahingi naman po. thanks

err... melmedrano, pakihanap sa Hope This helps blog ko (siggy ko) yung mga Guimaras posts ko. I have pics and contact info there of Raymen   yung family room namin was more than alright, working ang CR and 2 queen-sized beds (family room kasi)

sa iyo pala yun sis... nabasa ko nga yun, and i have reached them already, baka yung same room ang kunin namin kasi kailangan ng hot and cols shower for my son... yung TV optional naman. :-)

Sumagot naman sila sa tawag ko pero di nag rereply sa text at saka matagal baka macontact pero ang importante the phone is working. Baka magpa-arrange na rin kami ng multicab na sundo at hatid from JOrdan to Raymen... 500 lang daw... from what I've read sa mga post dito at blogs parang OK ba yung 500. :-)

P450 yung binayad namin sa hatid samin to Raymen on a multicab one way lang... so if two-way na yung ino-offer nila, good deal yun

one way lang din sis... pero mas gusto ko na magpasundo kahit mas mahal ng 50 pesos para sure na may transfer ride agad kami pag dating sa port, at the same time iwas paibaibang presyo ng mga drivers... ayoko na kasi makipag tawaran pag dating dun, alam mo na, dialect barrier... hehe

nagkausap na kami nung taga raymen kanina, were also getting yung 2,200 na room with two beds, para di kami sikip, kasi yung for 2 nila na room, isang bed lang na double ang size. masikip yun pag katabi namin yung bata, malikot pa naman.

excited na ako... magdedeposit na nga ako ng downpayment para di mabigla sa gastos, airfare paid na, accommodation naman... para allowance for food and other expenses na lang ang dadalhin namin. :-)

for those going to Iloilo naman, I highly recommend Garin Farm Inland Resort... it's also in San Joaquin, Iloilo and your kids can go swimming, horseback riding, boating, kayaying, fishing.... there's zipline too... and okay ang agricultural exhibits nila kasi matututo ka... and then there's the pilgrimage part where you go up 400+ steps to a cross on top of the hill (the resort is on a hill)

again, i have blogged about it na... it was not part of our IT, we were supposed to start church-hopping lang at San Joaquin

^sis, 5 min walking distance from ortiz wharf is santa maria parish church, where ateneo de iloilo is. the church is in front of the ancestral house of former senator nikki coseteng.

thanks sis, dun na lang kami pahatid sa siguro sa taxi para makapagsimba muna kami bago pumunta sa guimaras... may kainan din malapit dun sis???

^just inform the driver to bring you to santa maria catholic school (there are 2 ateneo campuses you see. santa maria is the name of the old school then) at the back of UI (university of iloilo).

well, santa maria and ortiz wharf are very near the central market and gaisano supermart (fronting UI). a little farther away are robinsons mall, iznart st (chinatown) and sm delgado (besides the sm hypermarkets, there are 2 sm: sm delgado and sm city). from the airport, you may go directly to robinsons mall (try Ted's batchoy) so that it's nearer to santa maria. then after meals, you may take a taxi going to santa maria (you may take a jeepney but you might get lost along the route). once you're there, ortiz is just around the corner.

what time are you arriving sis? rob ata opens at 9 am i think.

Thank you so much sis... tamang tama kasi 9:50am ang expected time of arrival namin sa iloilo... that's why i think we really need something to eat before we proceed to guimaras... kawawa yung bata pag nagutom. Tamang tama yung suggestions mo, thanks! :-)

^^you're welcome sis. usually, the church's main doors open by 3-4pm. but you may still enter the church thru the school's side doors. just tell the guard that you will visit the church. they normally let the churchgoers pass thru the side doors.
