hello sisses! ako din i want to go to the US for tour lang. may 1 tito ako dun and his family. yung iba mga cousins na ng mom and dad ko so medyo malayo na sa kin yun. maapprove kaya ako? i'm 31, married, no kids yet but undergoing therapy to help us have one, working in gov't for more than 4 years, worked for law firm for 4 months then legal bpo for 7 mos before my current job, been to bangkok, shanghai, hk and singapore. jakarta in feb 2013. all my immediate family members, except my kuya (jakarta), are based here. my parents will pay for my trip. i can present bank docs and employment docs. do i still need an invitation from my tito there? also, my husband and i acquired a parcel of land, but it's not yet fully paid. will i need to present the contract to sell and receipts? sabi dun kukunin nila all docs and will not return them, ok lang ba na hindi original ang ibigay? of course, i would want to keep the original copies for myself. thanks.

^ bibisitahin mo ba tito mo dun? if not naman, i mean di yun yung main purpose at di ka naman sa kanila mag-stay, then invitation's not needed na.  bring original and copy, alam ko yung copy need na naka-notarized (not sure though). walang kinuhang docs sa akin tinignan lang. HK's not that big naman kasi and we have HK national id na makikita dun lahat ng info so formalities lang yung bringing of docs. since your a gov't employee, you will need to have a clearance or certificate from gov't or sa sector na pinagtatrabahuhan mo. i know necessary jun i forgot what exactly yung tawag dun.

^sis most likely dun ako sa mga pinsan ko mag-stay para makatipid. permit to travel yun sis. yup kailangan ko talaga yun. pero binibigay lang kasi yun pag definite na yung alis. eh gusto ko lang naman magka-visa para if ever in the future madali na makapunta. check ko na lang din sa developer if makakuha ko certified true copy ng land docs since wala pa ko title. thanks sis!

my husband was recently given a B1 visa good for 10 years. pinag-apply sya bigla ng company kasi dapat punta sya US for a meeting. pero sa embassy, hindi sya hinanapan ng kahit anong supporting documents. kahit letter of invitation hindi hinanap na buti na rin lang kasi hindi sya nagawan ng company nya. tinanong lang daw sya ng purpose of visit (meeting), kung san sya nagpunta the past few years (various countries in Asia and Europe) at saka kung ilang months na baby namin (5 months). at saka nabigyan na rin pala sya ng US visa nung 12 years old sya. hindi na nga lang narenew. tapos approved na. kaso hindi sya tuloy. ngek.

question... hindi pa kasi kami nagbabasa about US Visa types. can he use the B1 visa for pleasure? like kung mag-apply kami ni baby as tourist, pwede ba nya gamitin yung B1 visa nya pag sasama sya sa amin?

sis caprice, alam ko pwede pero hindi ako sure. B1 visa is "visitor for business". B2 naman is "visitor for pleasure". usually 3months stay lang ang binibigay sa B1. 6 months naman sa B2. yung friend ko pinadala ng company nya pero nakakapamasyal naman sa US kasama nmin.

^^sis ang alam ko pwede. yung friend ko kumuha ng B1 visa kasi dapat isasama siya ng boss niya dun sa opening ng new branch nila in one of it's states. pero naterminate siya before pa sila umalis pero nakakuha naman siya ng visa 10years multiple. hinanapan siya ng letter from company (permanent resident din siya dito sa HK). pero recently umalis siya to visit her so-called bf, with the same visa na inapply niya, so I guess pwede. andun pa siya till now eh. siguro if ever, immigration na lang haharapin and he can say naman na business and pleasure. siguro say conference or meeting for 1-2 days diba.  i'm sure di na sila mag-aask ng kung [textspeak!]-ano pa.

thanks, sisses sixteen16 and prettynvain! mukhang hindi na kasi talaga tuloy yung meeting nya kaya if ever pumunta sya sa US, for vacation na lang. sana nga pwede magamit. nagtataka nga kami bakit 10 years binigay sa kanya e 2 weeks lang dapat yung naudlot na business trip nya.

May B1/B2 visa ako, which is valid until 2018. I need to renew my passport kasi ma-eexpire na, and mag-change din ako ng surname kasi I recently got married. Mavo-void ba yung visa ko kasi mag-change na ako ng surname? Thanks in advance!

^no, you can still use that visa just attach the old passport w/ the valid us visa to your new passport. and bring a nso copy of your marriage certificate when you travel

i've done this 3x before us immigration never asked for my marriage certificate but its better if you bring it

Question po. If I pay the visa application fee, around how many days before I can secure an appointment schedule?

Medyo urgent na kasi, my boss is thinking of sending me to a conference in the US on sept 30. Bukas pa lang ako magpapa-renew ng passport ko kasi di ko napansin, expiring na pala siya sa March..

May possibility bang umabot pa ako?

^sis, for the passport pa lang di ka na aabot. rush is atleast 2weeks ata (not really sure), then yung appointment for visa baka wala na ring available agad-agad for Sept.

^^ Baka sis you might have a hard time getting a sched sa passport unless makakita ka nang sched this  monday. As for visa, if your company is a PIP member, medyo priority for the interview schedule. Pero yun nga, need mo pa din ang passport details mo when you apply for visa. Why don't you visit the passport thread. I believe there is a thing such as passport extension. something na certify ng DFA. Siguro you just need to present some docs lang and etc. You can ask DFA about it.

I renewed my passport this morning. Di ko lang alam kung kelan lalabas yun. Malamang nga too late na for me to apply for a visa. Nakita ko pa naman sa page ng embassy na conferences are not a reason for emergency or urgent appointments.

Oh well. Sayang.

I have my visa B1/B2 given to me last 2007 pero valid pa rin sya till now, me and hubby are planning to go to visa for a vacay, problem is expired na yung visa dahil 1 year lang na ang naibigay sa kanya. Mas madali bang makakuha ng B2 visa if you already have previous US visa and had traveled to US before. Gaano kadali for him to get a visa kung meron na syang US visa before saka pala, he traveled sa UK and other asian countries na required ang visa. Thanks

Hi mga sis! So I recently got lucky and got a 10 year visa.  I plan to apply for a visa for my daughter and return to the US late next year of early 2014 for her 5th birthday.  What po would be the possible questions during the interview?  Also, would it be ok if I declare that my daughter's grandparents in the US will sponsor our trip.  FYI, I'm not married to the father of my daughter and he has not legally acknowledged her, so petitioning is out of the question.  TIA!

lheimatte, yes mas madali siya IMO. Mas madali parin ang renewal over first timers. As long as he has a current job and some assets okay na yun. My dad renewed his visa (non VRP but previous holder of 10 year multiple) hindi na tiningan yung documents na dala niya (assets, certificate of employment etc). 2 questions lang then approve.


Medyo gracious sila ngayon to give out 10 year multiples.


Super_she, is your daughter carrying her father's last name? Ang alam ko lang kasi dinedeclare is siblings and parents as relatives eh. Medyo malayo na grandparents since if ever ang petitioner ng child mo is her father.
