US Embassy/US visa thread 10

I took a chance of applying for a tourist visa instead of a transit visa which supposedly has a higher probability of getting approved.  On the day of my interview, I was ready with all possible documents the consul may request.  I answered the questions directly and honestly.  I thought that I'll be denied because I had no strong financial ties. 

Anyways, I was approved and given a 10 year multiple entry visa and it felt like a miracle just happaned!

I wish everyone good luck.  Like what others have already adviced, be honest, calm and have presence of mind.  PRAY!  I was holding the rosary my mom got for me from Lourdes the whole time I was being interviewed.

@matchykoi - there's really no formula or 100% assurance of being granted a visa. the insufficient family ties they give as reason, subjective rin eh.  just pray for God's will...

hi po. Finished my interview kanina. May instance ba na, kinuha na nila yung passport niyo the biglang babawiin? Kinuha na kasi nila [textspeak!] passport ko, so it means approve na yun? Just wondering lang if possible bang bawiin? Hhi

She just told me the passport will be mailed  in a week.

Usually,anong mga visa ang binibigay? May one month lang ba? Or puro ten years?

Question lang po mga sis. Sa two sites kasi na tinignan ko (manila us embassy website and ustraveldocs website) magkaiba yung pinakita na fee. Yung isa $140 and yung isa $160. Alin dun yung tama? And may info po ba dapat na ilagay sa deposit slip sa BPI besides yung passport number? Wala kasi akong mahanap sa sites nila kung ano ang ilalagay pag nag pay ng cash sa BPI. Thanks in advance.

^If you're applying for B1/B2 and a few other NIV categories, follow the new US$160 fee. Effective April 13, 2012.

Yes, I know it's confusing. Their application process page still shows the old $140 fee. Di pa updated yung page na yun. Always click on the home page of the NIV to get the latest embassy updates re procedures and fees.

As for additional info on the BPI deposit slip, all you need to bring to the bank is a copy of the bio page of the passport. The passport number is the only thing needed to pay for the application fee.

goodluck sis! nabigyan ako ng 10 yrs multiple entry.. pray hard lang.. if para syo ibibigay talaga.. madami ako nakasabay don 2-3 times na mga stable naman sa buhay. may mga asset pero denied. tiwala lang sa sarili.

Planning to renew my visa under VRP, mine expired last January 2012, and I was wondering what month na kaya yung makukuha kong appointment if I apply now?

I want ti have an idea before I pay the visa fee, where can i check?  Thanks!

Renewal of my US visa under VRP went pretty smooth. I'm given 10 years again and I'm so glad.
I got my passport within 5 days.

Hi mga sis. I need your help. Nagparesched ako ng appointment, dapat appointment ko June 17, kaso hindi complete reqs ko. INADVISE AKO NG GUARD NA OK LANG MA'AM, I-uuntag nalang kita, pa resched ka nalang. I have to attend a conference by October and guess what, up to now hindi pa ako na-uuntag. So di ako makapagresched! Naiinis lang ako kasi bakit nireassure pa ako ng guard, eh everday ako nagfofollow up, di pa nila ako maresched. HAYYYY.

May nakaranas na ba nito mga sis?
