US Embassy/US visa thread 10

My bro and mother got another 10 year visa. They applied last thursday and they received their passports yesterday.

I went to the US embassy for my VRP appointment awhile ago. I came at 1130 and was done by 130pm. They only asked for my complete name, birthday and how long was my longest stay in the US. Last filipina girl who interviewed me (finger print phase)said: will deliver your passport in a week, uwi ka na iha.

Nako noh if they don't give me a 10 year multiple, maasar ako talaga. I'm really happy my previous 10 year visa expired na, super panget ng picture ko doon and I just can't wait to get rid of it.lol

Bakit ako August 14 na yung earliest na nakuha ko for interview?  pano ba mag-view ng other open slots? Pano ninyo nakikita yung available slots without cancelling the first schedule muna? May back arrow ako nakita but disabled na kaya hindi ko na makita yung May and June na months. August na yung navi-view ko.

hi mga sis, update lang ako sa inyo:  VRP last april and reappearance last May, I was denied a visa.  My consul was a young mga early 30s or late 20s siguro na Caucasian guy. 
Reason being: my 5 months stay did not make sense to him.  He said that out loud talaga and he says it worries him.  Kahit I tried to reason with him wala pa rin oh well...apply nalang ako uli...he said naman I can always apply again daw.

sydxoxo, when I was trying to reschedule my VRP appointment parang you have to cancel your previous appointment. Maybe you can call the US embassy nalang and ask for an earlier slot. Dad ko June ang schedule niya (normal interview/ none VRP) and he submitted his application this month lang.

There is no other way to view the available slots other than cancelling first your existing appointment. I already inquired about it last year through the call center.

My kids' and inlaws' passports arrived yesterday. They were all given 10 yr B1/B2 visas, including my sister in law, who was denied during her first try a few years back. She has never travelled yet and is still single at 40. 😊

I'm soooo glad I don't have to deal with that again for another decade! Whew. The moment I got hold of the passports, I immediately got RTTs for my 2 older kids and had our tickets issued today.

Visiting the Golden Gate again, in time for its 75th bday next weekend! ✈

Theflygirl, honest opinion and based on experience, you think i should take the risk of cancelling my intial appointment and wait for earlier slots? Hindi kasi ako matahimik, i really want an earlier slot  i'm worried lang na baka pagsisihan ko and mas later date pa makuha ko.

^I haven't personally tried rebooking appointments. I just like to cover all bases and inquire a lot all of the time. Call me OC whenever I apply at ANY embassy, but I guess it works because I've never been denied anywhere. I wouldn't know if there are a lot of earlier open slots now than August but based on others' previous posts, some have tried canceling and have gotten earlier interview dates. That is a risk you'd have to take. Logically, it's almost school time so the demand for getting non-immigrant visas must be waning right now. Let me remind you lang that if you choose to rebook for a 2ND TIME, there is a waiting period of 90 days before you can set a schedule again. Good luck!

^^ sis try mo na lang tumawag, ask them kung may available na earlier slots, sasabihin nila sayo kung meron,ganyan kasi ginawa ko sa sis ko, tinawagan ko sila para sa appointment schedule niya, kaya lang medyo matagal yung available na date nakuha ko,kaya i called again and ask them kung may mas maaga pang available schedule,and fortunately meron daw, kaya pina-cancel ko yung una and grab ko yung mas earlier date HTH


update ko lang kayo mga sis,tapos na pala interview ng sis ko,unfortunately she was denied,tanong ko siya ano reason,sabi yata nung consul sa kanya, Financial something daw, parang hindi strong yung financial status niya, naisip ko given naman na yun since she's not working yet, still a student. may Bank acc. naman siya on her own, yung college funds/Tuition and school allowances niya laman nung account. oh well,maybe it's not her time yet to be given a U.S visa,

BTW sis, 3 times ka lang allowed mag cancel ng appointment, after 3 cancellations panibagong payment/application ulit ata, not sure though,medyo naka limutan ko na,anyway re-remind ka naman nila about this

tanong ko lang sana if meron na married to a US green card holder at nagtry mag apply ng tourist visa?

is there a chance ba? or talagang no chance at all?
di pa naman naka file ang petition ko. we're waiting for this citizenship na on-going na ang processing sa ngayon. since hindi sya makapunta dito to visit me, ako na lang muna sana ang pupunta dun.
pero super hesitant nga ako kasi baka masayang lang yung effort at yung money namin pag nagtry ako mag apply for tourist visa. gusto ko sana magpunta dun, malapit na kasi anniversary namin.
hindi pa naman nacecelebrate yun ng magkasama ever

Hi mga sis!  I was recently accepted to an international study visit to Mexico City.  The organization will partly subsidize my trip.  I may be able to meet naman the rest of the expenses but only is  I get a ticket via US.  Twice as expensive kasi yung price kung via Europe.

Here are my questions: 

1.  Has anybody applied for a transit visa?  Will I be allowed entry to and from Mexico (2 times na entry)?

2.  Would it be more advisable to get a B1/B2 visa instead? I have a cousin din kasi ni LA who I'm sure would love to be my host and well sayang din naman yung chance for a visit to the US with the subsidized airfare.  If I apply for a toursit visa, should I mention the invitation to the study visit in Mexico?

3.  Given these circumstances:

I am a licensed professional here in the Philippines and working in an LGU.  I earn a little under 20K.  I don't have a substantial amount in my bank account since it has been hard for me to save (I am a single parent).  Before having a child and since HS, I have travelled around Asia in non-visa (Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Hongkong, Macau) and visa (S.Korea, Taiwan, China) countries.

What are my chances to being issued a tourist visa, if I opt for one?

share ko lang, last December, nag-renew din kami ng Mom ko, through the VRP. fortunately na-approve naman kami. we were asked how long we stayed sa US the last time we visited. so we said 5 months. fortunately, wala na syang further questions about our stay. tinanong lang mom ko if she has pending petition. wala din naman. after that finger scanning na. we got our visas few days after that.

i have friends na maganda ang work and has substantial savings and all, pero denied din. siguro may halong swerte din ang pag-apply. you can try again naman diba after 6 months? goodluck!! =)

Sis Khat  yung brother ko turning 21 a few days before his VRP appointment. In his application.he indicated that he's a student and that my parents will pay for the trip. He got a ten year visa. Ako im 26 and i indicated my dad will pay for my trip, maybe thats why theu did not bother to ask me about my job and salary. Baka your sister indicated she will pay for.the trip.

Mga sis, pls help me. Is the "National Identification Number" being asked in the DS-160 form the same as our Tax Identification Number? Or do I just check "Does Not Apply"? Thanks! I would really appreciate it..

Does not apply sagot ko dyan. Alam ko kasi ID system is different sa TIN and SSS.

Better not to get tourist visa sis...ganyan kase ginawa ko  and i was denied.im going to  mexico and since sayang yung bayad ni try KO MAg B2 but then denied  now nagpay na uli ako for transit visa....

Just got my 10 year multiple visa today. I went last Thursday to re- apply through the VRP program.


super she, declare the school in mexico will partially pay for your trip. Maybe you can also ask your cousin if you can indicate that she will also partially pay for your trip.


Ako I wrote my dad will pay for my trip =) kahit na 26 years old na ako. I got a 10 year visa naman kasi may file din father ko sa us embassy as he is also a holder of a 10 year multiple visa so kita naman nila na he can buy me tickets. Hindi na ako na question about work and how much my salary is.

sis super_she: i think there is such a visa na transit going to mexico. how long will you be there? I check kasi na 90 days lang yung validity ng transit visa mo if ever -- C1 visa ito. I had my 3rd visa renewed last year and  my mom naman her 3rd as well via VRP. Mabilis lang talaga if you are honest lang with your documents. nakita din nila doon na i have a pending immigrant petition and asked if aware ako doon. Sabi ko yes. Mabait naman sila. They asked lang why ko gusto magpunta ulit sabi ko I am getting married and planning to have a short vacation after our wedding.

SA VRP naman my mom was asked lang to give all documents and the visa was delivered after a week with a 10 year multiple entry visa.
