so refreshing to see how so many couples are opting to make their wedding day practical.  for some of us, it takes a lot to let go of designer shoes, touchscreen LCD guestbooks, and all the latest gadgets and fads designed to supposedly make our event one of a kind, the greatest shebang, and all of that.  gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside to see how the minds of modern couples tick when it comes to practicality.  thumbs up to you guys.

Hello newbie po! will get married this December! sana mafinalize na lahat!  will try the Rosy's bridal shop for my entourage, even for my wedding gown, sana maging maayus naman.  happy lang buti may forums na ganito for bride to be, atleast marami ako nakukuhang bagong kaalaman. hahaha! til next post.

sis, where u able to find someone who customizes a ring?  sa amin kasi ni hubby pinasadya ko talaga. di ko na alam password ng fb jengski bratinela acct. ko pero if you can open...makita mo yung photo nung ring doon sis.  Happy Preps =)

^sis! ganyan din ako! nasasangayan talaga ko pag one time na gamitan lang tapos bibilin mo ng mahal. well, it's me. the kuripot me. haha. Sa divi naman ako nagask ng cocktail dresses, they can give me daw each for 350php if i'm getting five. not bad na. sa mga guys naman, puro long sleeves lang with cute na tie, at least mas malamang na magamit nila ulit ang long sleeves kesa barong.

Sis naloka ako sa cocktail na dress na 350 pesos each. And to think super saya nako sa nakita ko sa market sa Marikina, 800 isang cocktail dress patahi! San etong natanungan mo?!?

^sa cluster building. actually RTW sya kaya ganyan kamura. ayoko na kasi magpatahi at ayoko na mamroblema sa sukatan at fitting sched. buti na lang madaling damitan ang mga abay ko at kasya sa kanila ang standard size ng mga RTW.

Just sharing - warning: long read. these are some of things where we were able to save. We did splurge on some items - ie the venue, but we sticked to our budget.

I became a practical bride because of my practical groom!

1) No band/DJ - My fiance is very particular with the music. We thought band is very expensive plus we weren't really impressed with the youtube clips of the bands so out talaga.  DJ - he said why get a DJ if we will give him a playlist. So, we will play music from the ipod (my fiance got this idea from his friend).  The AE in our resort said they've done this in the past.  Putting up a playlist is actually a fun process. we are enjoying it. He would say, 'I have a song for you...' we'll youtube it, and normally its awww.. nice.. and will end up in the playlist.

2) Shoes - I live in Dublin and very seldom that i can use open-toed shoes (dahil whole year malamig). So even if i saw this very nice designer shoes, fiance said no.  I ended up buying a €26 white wedge sandals. And i got a customised one too from Marikina - Php1,400.

3) Fireworks - a very nice to have. pero fiance and I agreed, we dont neet it. we will use sparklers (lusis) instead and chinese skylanterns. Hopefully weather will be nice so we could light up the lanterns.

4) No SDE, AVP slideshow, etc sa wedding. - I opted for parents album than the SDE. I know I could DIY an album but professional album are still much nicer than what i can DIY. And i wanted our parents to have a very good souvenir especially for me because I live abroad.  The videographer said we will get a clip of wedding highlights anyway so we have something to watch after the wedding.

5) Ento dresses  and prep dress - I opted for a dress that they could use again. Preps dresses - not going to buy one. I'm going to use dresses that i've used in weddings. okay naman na sya.

6) No prenup - we are fortunate to have traveled together a lot so we have used those pictures sa photobook and DIY Save-the-date video.   To practice [textspeak!] shots in front of pro photogs - i bought a deal from groupon for studio shot, cost me €24. ok sya meron pa kming picture in canvass. great deal. We did some DIY 'prenup' shots too care of my fiance. he's into photography din.

Sis Shegie_285, congrats for being a practical bride and for sticking to your budget    We're trying to accomplish the same through these:

1. I'll have a simple wedding gown (more like a wedding dress)
2. I'll just borrow the shoes worn by my sister during her wedding 2 years ago
3. We bought infinity dresses for our female entourage members (they love this very practical idea)
4. We did a lot of research on wedding suppliers and got to book great photogs and videographers at their introductory rates
5. We will use own car as bridal car
6. We got our photobooth at half of the original price thru group buying
7. We bought simple wedding bands
8. We do not have to hire a stylist for our reception since the place already looks so beautiful as it is. We're also getting the venue for free as long as we meet the revenue requirement for the food and beverage

mukhang dito dapat ako nag-post ah  anyway, repost from 2013 Brides thread, baka may mas makatulong sakin dito 

May 2013 bride here!   So far, church pa lang napapa-book namin para ma-block yung date. Next in line namin is the reception and caterer, which is medyo madugo para samin. We're on a tight budget pero ginagawan namin ng paraan na  maging memorable pa din yung wedding namin.   So happy that we got friends na nagpe-pledge ng kung ano-ano that made our resourcefulness oooooze out! Here they are:

Coordinator - bestfriend ni h2b (who volunteered! actually, she was also his 1st accomplice for the proposal he made, 4mos in advance!)
Invites - my officemate, who do our company brands and logos, then print na lang sa murang printer na pinagpapa-printan din ng office for marketing needs
Cupcakes - as special gifts for sponsors; pledged by two of my college friends na super hobby ang paggawa ng cakes
Bridal car - friend/former officemate ni h2b, who's now working abroad and promised to go home on our wedding and pay the car hehe
Lechon - another friend/former officemate ni h2b, same as above ^ hehe

We're really enjoying our preps, and as much as possible super search kami sa net to research for affordable suppliers and ideas.

Btw, does anybody here know kung saan pwedeng magpa-alter ng wedding gown? Mine kasi is from my sister. Actually, the gown was unused since hindi na natuloy yung church wedding nila ng husband nya (civil na lang). Nakahanap ako ng isa sa amin sa Laguna pero hindi ako ganun ka-confident kung magagawa nya yung gusto kong mangyari sa gown. Meron kaya sa divi? Yung gown din is from divi, pero nagtanong na ako sa 168 and unfortunately walang pumayag kasi puro MTO lang daw sila   sayang din naman kung walang gagamit nung gown eh.. hope anybody can help me out here.. TIA!

Yup, P795 tea length infinity dress sa Get Laud.  We bought long infinity dresses at 999 Mall Divisoria for P700 each, discounted from P780 kasi 6 and kinuha namin.  Kulang pa so we had to buy 2 more sa Cinderella at P980 each. Mas makapal tela sa Cinderella

sunflowers thanks and good job too! late ko na nakita yang infinity dress naka-commit ng ako sa designer. actually namamahalan ako sa ento dress pero hayaan mo na. but i would have opted too for infinity dress. mas sulit. hope we can really stick to our budget! hehe.. i have 2 1/2 months to go na [textspeak!] ang so far on track talaga.

hi sis! i'm a rosy's bride. they did my wedding gown and hubby's suit and we were satisfied on the outcome. maganda ang pagkakatahi nila at nagandahan din ang mga nakakita.
