^ for me iba yung feeling eh. Ang saya lang. Saka never ko pinapa alam na birthday ko. Ang nakaka alam lang is yung mga gt friends na kasama ko and yung tiga foundation / organization na pinag coordinate-an namin. Hindi din naka broadcast sa fb. Ni hindi din alam ng immediate family ko.

^i am totally clueless what people do sa feeding program. where they get the food from, what they do pagdating etc etc. can i join? haha kahit yearly thing din.

I tried volunteering rin naman but there's just this sickening feeling na am i just doing this just for me to feel good about myself kase nakatulong ako or para talagang makatulong ako? Kase parang for me ah, ang selfish nung ganung dating. To feel good about myself. Kaya kahit shortterm lang yung tulong, ok na yan kase i felt good naman doing it eh.

I am sorry sis but maybe it's just you or maybe you need to reflect on what exactly is your purpose when helping others. The fact that you are asking why you are doing this speaks volume. Maybe you are not sure why you want to help. Like someone said here, iba-iba ang tao. Marami pa rin tao ang bukal sa loob nila ang tumulong. COMPASSION for others is one of the reasons why people want to help others. It's innate and it is something that you cannot force to feel and if bukal sa loob mo tumulong, you won't feel this sickening feeling na maybe you just want to help so you can make yourself feel good. One time, I went to Baclaran church and merong kid dun with his mom, they were sitting on the floor. The kid is bald and he is obviously suffering from cancer. May mga taong lumalapit and then someone gave them a large amount of money. Now, I don't think that someone gave the mom's kid money just for the sole purpose of making himself feel good. That is compassion.

Yes sis, I used to teach in a Catholic School and one time we went in to an orphanage just to share what we have and iba yung feeling kasi nakikita mo na masaya sila sa mga simpleng bagay lang. I don't have any plans of sharing it in FB too feeling ko din kasi Charity..when advertised, can't be considered charity anymore. Pero parang gusto ko magdadala lang ako ng food on my birthday. required ba sis na magfacilitate ka ng program and talk to them?baka kasi ma awkward yung mga kids pag ganun..

Hmmm really up to you mga sis if you want pa may program. Ako kasi wala namang program. 

Last year kay Anthony Vivero. Hindi pa kasi ako ganun ka exposed sa pag oorganize ng outreach program and that time palagi ako nagpupunta dun kasi down na down ako then nakakasama ko sa healing mga patients na mas malaki pa ang problema sakin. So nagpatulong ako sa isang GT sis natin na volunteer dun then kinausap ko din si Senyor personally then pinag usapan yung budget and kung anong food ang gusto ko i serve. Tapos binilin ko na lang na wag ipaalam sa mga tao na bday ko, walang happy birthday na kantahan etc. then nung mismong araw makulit si Senyor pinakanta pa din yung patients ng happy birthday pero di niya na lang minention kung sino.

Then this year, another GT sis suggested yung Grace to be born if gusto ko daw beneficiary. Bale this year nakapag organize na kami ng iba pang outreach programs dito lang sa metro manila so medyo gamay na. So ayun kinontak lang ni GT friend yung tiga Grace to be born, nagpa book ng schedule, ask kung ilan mommies and babies and kung anong need ng mga nandun mas preferred nga lang nila cash donations pero tumatanggap naman sila in kind. Order ng food ahead of time tapos dun pina deliver. Wala ding program.

Hi mga sis, i am organizing another outreach program for december, its Project Kulayful Christmas. I am looking for a venue pa, most likely hindi orphanage since marami ng magpupunta dun, so im looking in to a place na hindi naabot ng mga organizations, if may massuggest po sana kayo and if anyone wants to join po! this will be my third outreach po this year for my project kulay!

Thanks, killbill! Yun na lang din gagawin ko. Sabi nung friend ko na mahilig mag outreach, Jollibee daw talaga default for kids kasi dun sila enjoy. So Amber's for the adults and Jollibee for the kids

Also, may binibigay ba kayo na parang goodie bags sa kids? Eto rin gusto ko sanang gawin but need ideas what to put inside a goodie bag aside from toys...

Ok rin ba na may ibigay na something sa parents? I dunno, mga grocery items? Di ko alam eh basta I know I want to give them something din...

^ Suggestion ko sis e include reading and coloring books in the goody bags, art supplies and school stuff din like crayons, pencils and notebooks.

Why not give them seeds for edible plants as well?  I don't know if this is practical in your case, but if the parents or the kids have access sa mga paso or some small bits of land e pwede sila magtanim ng plants na ito and in time e pwede nila to iharvest and kainin or ibenta.  Alam ko may public schools and may communities that have areas where you can plant stuff like tomatoes, papaya, etc.  That way matututo sila paano mag-alaga ng halaman, they'll have a sense of achievement after working hard to care for the plant and healthy pa yung makakain nila kasi fresh yung gulay or fruit.

I want an organized group din na hinde masyadong publicized. For the longest time kase, kame lang ng mag-ama ko ang gumagawa. Better pag madame, mas madame din magagawa and matutulungan.

Kami naman wala na goodie bags. For my birthday outreach last year food lang talaga then this year food and cash donation kasi mas preferred nila yun. Natuwa lang ako kasi first check i've ever written is for charity, wala lang meaningful for me hehe.

Sa ibang outreach naman with GT sisters: Bahay Maria school supplies ang pinamigay namin, then sa Child Dreamer's Day Care workbooks and teacher's table. Sa San Lorenzo Home for the Elderly toiletries.

Much better if makipag coordinate ka na lang sa mga volunteers sa mapipili mong foundation / organization para masabi din nila kung anong kailangan nila, age bracket, head count and kung ilan ang boys and girls, anong pwedeng food ang i serve. Like sa elderly kasi depende if kaya pa nila nguyain yung food, karamihan din bawal ang softdrinks or juice etc.

Maganda mga sis alam niyo yung background ng beneficiaries so you'll know what to give.

Ang ginagawa namin is we focus in one goal. If we plan to give school supplies, then school supplies it is. If major outreach, we also give groceries and/or goodie bags. If alam namin na most children in the area na pupuntahan namin lack basic clothing, we also give brand new/pre-owned clothes and slippers.

For goodie bags, since hiwalay namin binibigay ang school supplies, ang laman usually is candies, biscuits and cupcakes. Yung mga matutuwa talaga yung kids. Meron kaming volunteer na bata who gave about 150 toys last summer. Nakakatuwa lang.

If you're coordinating with a local barangay or management ng institution, best ask them ano bang mga kailangan and hingi din kayo suggestions for food. Sila ang mas nakakaalam niyan. Okay din if mag-oocular kayo.

I'm visiting cancer stricken children... the same hospital I was treated in. Cash donation, I already asked and it will cost more than half a million pesos to shoulder one patient's full treatment. I don't know what kind of cash donation I can do. Kung ilalagay ko sa sobre paisa isa bigay sa parents? Worry ko baka sa iba magastos like new phone or something. As much as possible, gusto ko sa talagang magagamit nila. So siguro nga grocery items na lang for the parents.

I don't have a goal like giving school supplies or whatever. I just want to share our blessings, make them happy and give them that hope as well na look at me, I beat that disease so wag sila mawalan ng pagasa.

^hi sis same dream namin ng anak ko ang makabalik din kame sa hospital kung saan siya halos lumaki at na treat ang kanyang C (thank God survivor  siya). At tulad mo magsilbing inspirasyon na kaya rin nila malampasan.
Ang main purpose  namin ay ang mapasaya ang mga bata.Super  happy na sila sa Jollibee  Party at toys.

I will not give  money sa parents dahil yung iba  kung saan saan lang dinadala ang pera na nakita mismo ng mga mata ko.
May mga nagbebenta pa nga ng gamot na nakuha lang sa chairty.
