smart casual attire

hi ladies.. i have been looking for an example of a smart casual attire. any recos? TIA. this attire is for a small discussion group in an office setting, so i believe that wearing jeans is a no-no.. please help on what to wear.. thanks

^could be a pair of trousers paired with a decent blouse, wear a blazer or a cardi on top to add more "smart" look to it.

i'm also looking for any smart casual tips.  i have this dinner meeting with a foreign dignitary and cant seem to find anything to wear so no-no ang jeans kahit yong mga dark colored ones?

^ yes sis, no-no ang jeans, kasi iba ang definition nila ng smart casual (foreigners)..unlike dito pag smart casual, ok na si jeans.sa kanila, more of slacks type pa din if pants and blouse, not shirt.You may put on a light sweater or cardi since malamig naman weather these days.

^ thanks sis.  kaya pala nong si hubby nagtanong ng smart casual for him, parang usual office attire na ang sinasabi.  tapos isip ko rin non, yong parang jeans na slacks (tipong fit jeans) then just a blouse.  di pala pwede. 

my gulay, so bawal pala talaga ang jeans...me mga pang-office ako but now i think di siya presentable to use since foreign dignitary nga i-me-meet namin.  and sa sat na yon.  have to go shopping na ata, hay.

but contemplating if should i wear a heeled shoes or a just ballet pumps.

then i think hubby also needs to change his plan to wear his m&s a polo shirt, kasi checkered yon na pink, dapat dark na plain na lang plus his dockers na beige and yong leather shoes niya.
