looking for: White Sand Beach in Luzon

hi. my tito and tita will back in manila (from abroad) this coming april and gusto nila mag beach, they prefer white sand beach within luzon, magtatravel kame by a private car tapos mga 8 hour drive lang max from manila ang prefer nila. bale mga nasa 15 kame.

i was eyeing on pagudpud but then i found out na mga 11 hours pala byahe, scratch na yun sa list ko, my friend is suggesting puerto galera, ok lang mag RORO na lang siguro kame, pero i read kasi dati na di masyado ok ang beach dun

do you have any suggestions? thanks

sis matabungkay in batangas.. nakapunta na ko but hindi ako familiar sa mga beach resorts dun.. maganda beach nila.. sabi nung friend ko, maganda daw ang shoreline along that area.. san juan and sampaguita in batangas maganda din.. been to anilao before, may scuba diving sila.. and heard na yun area near (or part of) anilao.. SAN JOSE magaganda din daw.. sabi nung 1 ko client maganda din daw ang romblon.. parang boracay, hindi pa lang developed ang area meaning walang ganun mga hotels. unlike galera and bora..

^^i don't think romblon is accessible by land.  nearing visayas na kasi yun.

potipot is only 6 hours drive from Manila, sobra naman yung 11, daig pa ang Ilocos, hehe.  zambales is minimum of 4 hours drive.  you can also try the beaches in quezon province.  marami dun.  meron sa padre burgos, polilio island, cagbalete island, pagbilao, etc.  i've been to padre burgos and pagbilao.  ang gaganda ng beaches dun.  it is where you find the famous Borawan.  pero may mas maganda pang beach dun, the Puting Buhangin Beach.  it is just about 2 hours drive coming from the south (magallanes).  i wasn't able to finish my blog about this, siguro finish ko soon.

you can also try Patar Beach in Pangasinan.  i have a blog about it, check mo na lang   eto ang sabi nilang susunod din daw sa boracay.  the sands are not white but quite powdery na rin.  ok na rin dito.

^sis white sand ba sa patar? may nagsabi kasi sa akin na sa bolinao pangasinan breakwater yung beaches dun kaya ayoko.  sis white sand din ba sa quezon? ano magandang white beach dun sa zambales sis?

sis may roro ata going to romblon sa batangas port.. island siya after ata ng mindoro.. maganda daw sand dun.. lapit na ata siya sa boracay.. parang bangka lang daw from there, nakakapunta na boracay mga taga romblon..

visayas na yung romblon sis... ang sobrang puti talaga ng sand dun, wish i could send you a copy of my pix there.. taga dun kc yung relatives ni hubby... kaya lang sakit sa pet yung byahe.. like parang more than 12 hrs ata yun sa roro wala pa yung byahe mo to batangas ah.. best beaches are in romblon, romblon... me island din sila na malapit na sa bora yung carabao island at isla de gallo...

pwede din mg plane pero parang sea air lang ata me flight to tablas island, romblon...

re pagudpud, maganda din, layo din sobra ng byahe..

zambales, if you dont like yung parang camping, meron dun yung White Rock.. pero if me super budget naman try grande island..

super ganda dyan.. sya yung island sa gitna... basta yun... you'll see pag asa subic ka na or pagkalabas ng subic papunta sa mga beach...

^ Actually, Luzon pa ang Romblon; Region 4B: Mimaropa (Ro as in Romblon).

Pagudpud is good but land travel will be too long especially if 8-hour drive lang ang max nyo. Same case if I suggest Anguib Cove/Beach in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

Nearest would be Zambales beaches:

Anawangin & Nagsasa in San Antonio but there are no overnight accommodations in these coves, just tents.  Day tour lang and then overnight na kayo sa Pundaquit.  Gray na gray na yung sand sa Anawangin... May halo na rin sigurong mga waste from campfires.  It's white only when th sun is up and bright.

Potipot - a bit farther pa than San Antonio beaches/coves but with hotel/resort accommodations

In the south naman, Laiya in San Juan, Batangas offer some good beaches. 

All these are not as white, not as fine as beaches in the Visayas/Mindanao though...

honeybunny: sa iland ng potipot, walang accommodation pero yung island na katapat nun, meron. that's in candelaria, if im not mistaken.  sa candelaria kasi yung parang pick up/drop off point going to potipot.

hindi white sand sa patar beach, golden sand sya.  i don't know about that breakwater sis.  maganda yung puting buhangin sa pagbilao, quezon.  white sand dun at super clear water.  only a few ang may accommodation rito na beach front.

if zambales, you can also try anawangin cove.  wala rin accommodation rito pero dun sa lugar papunta dun (drop off and pick up point ng boat), i think thats in San Antonio, may mga resort naman.

^ Oh, wala pa rin bang accommodation in Potipot mismo, other than tents?  Kasi sa travel expo last year, i saw this medyo mahal na resort that's supposedly in the island mismo.

Anyway, kung wala pa ring accomm sa island mismo, boat ride from mainland to the island takes only about 5 minutes. super lapit lang.

^may mga small cottages but i'm not so sure if pwede yun for overnight.  maybe i'm mistaken.  medyo matagal na, like 2-3 years ago, nung nag potipot ako.

you can also try magalawa island in zambales.  check mo na lang din blog ko about it.

you may also try Anvaya Cove in Bataan. nice yung accommodations dun, but I think kailangan may member para makapag-check in ka.

yung munting buhangin, if that shares the same beach/sand as punta fuego, the sand is not white and powdery. even the water is not blue, better pa yung mga beaches sa calatagan.

patar beach kung may sariling car siguro 6 hours to 8 hours ang byahe. sa patar mismo, may accommodations pero mga native huts lang. usually walang website. there are resorts though like treasures of bolinao na stone's throw away lang from patar.

you can also go to hundred islands and rent the big boats if you're 15 pax.

Pwede din sa Canyon Cove in Batangas or baler in quezon. but i think in baler, you have to go to dicasalarin para white beach.

My best bet na malapit from Manila is Canyon Cove in Nasugbu Batangas...Youll enjoy the beach kasi malinis though small cove lang sya...i enjoyed kasi you can feed fish, pag may nakita silang tinapay na hawak mo sila na lalapit sayo.  malinaw tubig as in at hindi ako nakatihan sa tubig...hindi sya as super fine and white as beaches in luzon and mindanao, but its the nearest nice beach na napuntahan ko (2-3hours).. quality of sand is off-white/beigy side na...if family of 15 kayo, enjoy dito kasi may big pool pa.  as in immense...sawa sa swimming mga bata...what i hate about the place, is the checkin process nila, tagal nila magbigay ng room kasi fully booked daw the previous days at nililinis pa...they should do something about it, alangan naman lagi sila ganun pag punuan...eh dapat expected na nila weekdays talagang fully booked at summer pa...

additional fun when you go there is you'll pass by Tagaytay (we did)...food trip at visit Caleruega Church...

next nearest best bet ko is in pagbilao quezon...dun yung puting buhangin beach at kwebang lampas if my memory serves me right...theres also the dampalitan beach, dun kami nagpitch ng tent...no accomodations there, pwede magcamp and bonfire, chill mode lang, sarap...short boat ride going to these small islands...  Ito baka same travel hours din as Zambales...I have yet to see Anawangin, Potipot, Magalawa na white sand daw...

Hi sis honeybunny. U might want to check out Catanauan Cove in Quezon.. it's fairly new so hindi pa ganun kasikat..And its a few hours drive from Manila.. hope this helps
