WARNING: RICO THE MAGICIAN

i just want to warn everyone in booking Rico the magician. i know he is one of the most indemand magicians we have right now but you have to be warned!  I booked Rico last November 2011 for my daughter's 7th birthday this coming February 19, 2012 after seeing his performance in my niece's birthday last November. Right there and then, i told my party organizer that i'll be getting him for my daughter's 7th birthday.  You know how mom's are especially when it comes to the most important birthdays of their kids... we simply want the best! months have passed and still  i was so relaxed because i have booked and made a down payment on one of the best magicians we have.  February 6, 2012, i received a text message from him saying this, "Good morning po ako po yung magician humihingi ako ng paumanhin dahil po sa feb. 19 hindi po ako makakarating sa party dahil isang buwan po ako sa bisaya mula feb 15. pakipalitan nalang po ako"  after receiving this text, i immediately called him and asked what was going on. I told him I have booked him months before and is not fair at all if he drops me the last minute.  i told him my sentiments.  I tried to explain to him that it was impossible for me to find a good entertainment for my guests, if 12 days are all that are given to me.  You know how difficult it is to book hosts and magicians. To be able to get the best, we really should book in advance. This doesn't only apply to magicians and hosts. venues, caterers, photographers, etc etc are all the same.  It is very disappointing because i expected that he, just like the others I have tried, would be professional enough to meet their client's needs especially when they have made a commitment with them already.  By the way, i found out that his reason for cancelling is because he made another booking in Visayas. The reason why he double booked.. i really don't know. Perhaps a bigger talent fee??? Well, whatever the reason may be, they say karma comes back 10 folds. He never answered my calls after the 1st time i spoke to him.  He didnt even bother texting or giving me another guy to replace him. In short, he just left me hanging not caring whether my daughter's 7th birthday will be completely ruined by his actions. So there you go! i have learned my lesson the hard way, so please may this be a lesson to everyone.  Just because the person you're booking has a name to protect, doesn't mean they are professional enough to stand by what has been agreed upon.  I am just so thankful that despite what he has done, i was still able to find a good magician for my daughter's party to replace him.  Will update you what happens after the party. RICO THE MAGICIAN is now forgotten. This attitude of his will be the reason of his downfall.  Please please be wary in booking this guy. a down payment is not enough security you have to book this guy. I just got lucky that i found a great magician to replace him.. this doesn't happen all the time to everyone.  So again, be warned! Imagine the disaster this Rico guy would've created IF i ended up not finding anyone...Thank God I did. Thank God!  please repost.

Ganitong mga scenario yung sinasabi ko sa isang thread na magiging kampante lang na mang agrabyado ng kapwa kasi ang iniisip e d naman na sila maaasunto.

I think baka hindi na concern ni TS ang downpayment if mabawi or not. Sama kasi ng ugali nitong magician na ito, pwedeng abuloy na yun DP.


And to TS, kahit sino pa pumalit na magician sa bday ng anak mo e am sure ok yan.  Cheer up sis, para happy sa party

he shouldn't made a double booking... even if he will be getting a heftier payment... that's not good... not professional  or he should have given a replacement... to compensate for his absence...

anyways, i was able to watch Wanlu (Ventriloquist / Talentadong Pinoy) at a birthday party... even the adults enjoyed...

hi mga sis.. it was my party organizer handling the payments to all the suppliers since she was the one who provided mostly everything to me.  i got alakim to replace him.  good thing talaga meron pang natira na ok. imagine talaga if i didnt find anyone whos good enough?? kawawa naman daughter ko noh! anyway, i just added more sa tf nya because i requested for more tricks than the usual stuff he show in parties.  i havent really seen him perform yet.. hopefully magaling din sya. tomorrow's the big day! i'll keep you guys posted. as for rico... I WILL NEVER EVER THINK OF GETTING HIM EVER!!! EVEN IF HE REALLLY IS GOOD, WAG NALANG KESA MABITIN LANG AKO. i just hate the guy so much. buti nalang matanda na sya nung sumikat so konti nalang ang mapeperwisyo nyang tao.. tsk tsk tsk!

prettycha: alakim usually charges 25k but since i requested for more tricks, he made me add and made it 35k.. if you'd ask me if it was worth it... ummm.. no it wasnt hehe. but it was ok kesa naman wala. rico was charging 40k  for 5k price difference, i'd say, sobrang layo nila.. but then again, rico was very unprofessional so better than nothing, ok narin.  my party turned out super nice naman. it was very very successful so im super happy and all the stress paid off! will try to post some pics

here are some photos from the party i worked so damn hard to plan which rico almost almost ruined.. should've been perfect if everything went on as planned.  although i know it could've been better, it still turned out pretty well and i'm thankful that it made my daughter happy as well as the little kids and even adults who went.

wow! ang alam ko alakim is now  being handles by Star Magic thus the price pero good thing you were able to book him sis. very in demand si alakim even outside the country. as per Rico, if he is a talent of a network or a talent management, dapat nagpabook sa mismong handler niya. kasi minsan these talents really don't know their schedule. yung mga handlers nila ang nagbobook ng nabobook ng shows. but with his asking price, i don't think Rico is just operating alone. i am not pro-Rico ha, i'm just being objective here. kasi nga si Manny Pacquiao, natanggihan ng handler ni Alakim because he had prior commitment pero sabi ni Alakim, had he known, it was Manny's daughter's party, go siya!

wow sis! ganda...halatang you really have worked hard for it.  congrats.  na-inspire ako, [textspeak!] ko na i plan 7th bday ng baby ko..well 4 months old plng sya, nasa baptism planning plng ako hehe
