important announcement mga sisses:

effective march 6, 2012 lahat ng mga turista na magtour kailangan ng magbayad ng php40 environmental fee, wag po sana kayo magagalit kung singilan kayo ng additional php40 para daw po ito sa maintenance ng mga tourist spot dito sa Palawan (sana nga mapaganda ang sistema kung ganyang may EF na dapat bayaran)

^super ganda ng weather dito ngayon fully book na din ang april 2 for underground river tour, please please mga sisses kung mag-tour kayo ibook niyo na 1month before ang UGR niyo para hindi kayo kabado na hindi kayo makapag-UGR, ang daming umuuwi na dismayado kasi di nila nakita ang UGR

just arrived lang today sa palawan, sa marianne home inn kami, nice naman kasi new siya. kasama na sa package yung city tour,uderground and honda bay. excited nako. tom pako nakabook kay kalui resto. mamaya sa dinner diko pa alam kung san kami kakai, aside sa kalui [textspeak!] pang ok na resto here. tia mga sisses

magpa-book na ng maaga para secure na yung permit, mahirap din atatin ang tour operator kapag late booking, di natin pwede ipilit kung fully book na talaga.

Sis sa Go Hotels ba bawal magdala ng foods inside the rooms? Hindi pa ako nakakapag book sa Go hotels, medyo nagdadalawang isip ako to sa site nila, may nakasulat kasing "The site's security has already expired etc". Does anyone experience that with their site also?

Uu sis mahirap magpa-book sa kanila, maybe dahil maraming tourist ngayon on PP. Siguro alternative ko to stay in is Marianne's Inn or Isabelle Mansion. Mukhang okay rin yung mga reviews na nabasa ko sa pag back reading ko .

Sis try ninyo mag-firefly watching  . Yung nakita ko ay worth 1,100php per person pero yung sa iba like Marianne Home Inn ay worth 1,200php with dinner na yun.

i had my puerto princesa trip last March 9-11. it was basically two full days as we had to leave for a 9am flight on the third day

march 9: plane arrived on schedule. all of my fears regarding my ensemble travel deal melted away when i saw not one but TWO placards with my name on it: aa plaza and njoy travel tours. I left the bags with aa hotel personnel, talked to njoy travel tours re: honda bay and proceeded with the tour that miss charisse arranged for me

for those who have motion sickness i really encourage you to drink bonamine or some sort of medicine as the road to the underground river is full of twist and turns. it reminds me of the old road going to baguio. thankfully the driver was experienced like a f1 driver and we got to the office for registration in less than 2 hours (including the rest stop)

the underground river itself was anti-climatic but the tour guide was great. he pointed out "images" of jesus, mama mary, candle, nude woman etc. the high ceiling in 1 area was the best part of the tour. Pls take note that the life jackets and helmets are really smelly from overuse... i had to spray mine with alcohol but it didn't stop me from being able to smell the other life vests.

the boat to and from the UR can accommodate a max of 8 pax only and the waves became choppy in the afternoon because it was raining. thankfully its only a 30 min ride to the main sabang beach and we had our lunch at 2pm + chill out. My only complaint was that ate ___ told us we will only be waiting 1.5 to a max of 2 so we headed back to the meeting point (coming from the opposite end of the beach) but we couldn't find the guide and the driver couldn't contact the guide because of weak signal. Ate charisse was extra helpful and got back to me that the guide will be returning soon (from ushering the other guest.) we waited a total of 3 hours.

tip: next time i will remember to get the guides cellphone number para i can try calling first before meeting up

Ka lui dinner-  their crab, sisig and guyabano shakes are all yummy. expect to pay manila prices 400-500 per person

next day: njoy travel guide arrived on time.  we went to panda island for fish feeding, group underwater photos, beach bumming and more crab eating. the other island we visited was pambato reef which was also very pretty. overall satisfied with their services. our guide was a newbie and couldn't explain things well in english but she was really nice and thoughtful enough to guard outs stuff while we did our water activities.

tip: get the exact feet size @ the shoe rental gear. made the mistake of getting 1 size bigger (like buying rubbershoes) and had to keep on getting water out of my very heavy water shoe.

tour finished by wish and we got back to the hotel by 230pm. at this point everyone in the group wanted to just freshen up for the bay cruise at sunset.

the bay cruise was my favorite activity in puerto princesa. we had to wait for an extra hour since some passengers came from the airport using PAL airlines (Palaging Always Late is what my guide told me.)

the guide we had was the best in speaking english and was so informative. he had on a microphone so everyone can hear him. Our group of 19 was split into two. 1 group will go firefly watching while the other eats buffet.
Touching the water on the way to the mangrove area emitted plankton lights (neon in color) and it was my first time to see fireflies and one of those rare instances that i can see the stars shining brightly in the darkness of the night amongst mangrove trees.  when we got back i wanted to go star watching but couldn't resist eating when i saw a buffet of crabs, shrimps, eggplant, fresh fish (it was called labahita?) etc. THE FOOD WAS GREAT.. it was yummy to the point that i only stopped eating because the second group came back and we needed to clean up.

TIP:choose firefly before eating buffet if you have a choice. if everyones too full i can only imagine that the darkness might lull you to sleep

afterwards, my friends and i hanged out at kinabuch and i saw two superstars:
1. the mayor who had people swarming around him for photo ops
2. miss charisse who booked my underground river and bay cruise tour.

underground river: 1300/ pax (transpo by van, food, permits)
rental of snorkeling gear: 150/ goggles; 150-200 for the shoes
fee: 40 @ monday bay terminal
trike from aa plaza to ka lui, kinabuch. 40/ ride. 10/ pax
pasalubong: we bought all of our stuff at the big store in the TIANGE TIANGE area
crabs: 450/kilo at pandan island paluto
