Hi CrazyLove!

I met my first girlfriend via MiRC. I can say it was the best 9months of my life. =)

Hit and miss ang online dating eh. Meron akong nameet na sobrang ganda na girl na panget ang ugali, girl na I like but didn't like me back.

I can't say all my meet-ups were positive ones, but doing so improved my confidence in talking to people. :P

Thanks, crazylove. :)

Oh and by the way, I met him sa isang phone app. That was the time na bed rest ako for half a year while undergoing therapy kaya a gay friend of mine suggested to download it para may "social life" pa din ako which I did after a lot of hesitation. Then after that, I deleted my profile and the app as well which he also did. ;D

Hit and miss talaga online dating. Pansin ko marami pa rin talaga looking for ONS. Weird, but I prefer online dating. The good thing is, pag nag meet kami, hindi na ako tahimik.

Most of the guys I've met, well, okay lang naman sila. Though ramdam ko they're expecting more. Karamihan hindi na nasundan ang first meet. Meron man, twice lang.

1st online dating is fail . He's a DOM. Never never meet sa mga guy na magpapadala ng pics tapos naka shades and cap.

2nd dating - it all went well. He's perfect and very handsome.
up to now, more than one year na kaming dating and ok padin naman so far.

Our first date, he held my hand while walking sa mall. At first medyo nagulat lang ako, second date he's trying to act like a bf na. Medyo clingy din. Dunno if that's the right term. He told me that he likes me. In the end I admitted that I don't feel the same for him. Friends lang talaga. Syempre ayoko lang din naman sya masaktan.

The other one naman, we both feel the same that we're not attracted to each other. But as friends, okay naman kami. Up to now nakaka chat ko naman din yung iba. :)

Yeah, but it's the same with real life din naman.

Online dating is a cheap and easy way to meet people, basta ba maingat ka.

Sorry to read that it never worked for you. What are you doing now to meet guys?

Never really signed up for online dating, but there was a time in my life when I got curious about chatrooms where you can talk to people with similar interests as yours. Parang girltalk lang di ba, haha. Anyway, meron mga guys who eventually asked me out on friendly dates, so ako naman inisip ko na okay, this is something new, so I accepted. Went out on about four or five dates before I stopped it totally, kasi naman yung mga naka-date ko turned out to be slightly sleazy types, so different from the impression I got from them online! I know baka minalas lang ako and there are decent guys online out there, but I don't wanna risk it anymore. It's not for me.

Pag kasi reto ng friend mo, at least your friend can vouch for his personality.

Some people find serious partners thru online dating, but most kasi are looking for hookups lang.

Pag kasi reto ng friend mo, at least your friend can vouch for his personality. - Yes, pero may chances na magiba ang ugali ng guy pag kayo na, lalo na kung yung babae is nagre-require ng traditional "courtship" and against sa "dating."

Some people find serious partners thru online dating, but most kasi are looking for hookups lang. - Totally agree with this, but does the notion of "most men in online dating are looking for hookups" demotivate you in trying online dating?

So, again, back to my question. What do you girls do to meet new guys?

Pag kasi reto ng friend mo, at least your friend can vouch for his personality.

Some people find serious partners thru online dating, but most kasi are looking for hookups lang.

^Haha okay. So you're into online dating, got it. :) I'm just saying it's okay but siyempre don't expect too much especially if you're looking for a serious relationship. Kahit gaano ka kapursigido, minsan wala talaga e.

Re: how to meet guys, aside from reto, how about meeting them in person? Yung mga nakikilala mo thru common friends, sa office, in orgs and activity groups, or whatever. How do people expand their circle before this online thing di ba.

I am.

And again, it's the same with real life: never expect too much - hindi naman siguro magkakaroon ng posts about guys being lazy/cheating/hurting women kung matitino kaming lahat di ba?

So let's say you meet someone at work/office/organizations/activity groups and you really like the guy (assuming na-attract ka sa kanya physically or dahil sa ugali niya et al factors), what do you do?

^Let's just say iba-iba tayo ng approach and end it at that.  ;) If you're really into it and you find it works for you, then good.

i went out on a couple of dates before with guys i met online. my friends actually convinced me to set up this online acct since i've been separated for 5 yrs. the first 2 guys i agreed to meet up with were epic fail. haha! yung una ang kulit at nagpipilit pumunta sa house e may rule ako na di ako nagpapapasok ng strangers sa house especially since i live alone. from that palang alam mo na iba ang gusto nung guy. the second guy naman e huge turn off kasi napaka nega. puro na lang tungkol sa ex nya kwento nya - like how she cheated on him and used him etc. e first meet up pa lang namin yun puro sya kwento about that. as in literal na sya lang dumadaldal the whole time. kaloka. kaya ayun, after an hour e nagdahilan na ko i really need to go na at may appointment pa ko. tapos he had the nerve pa to ask for another date at manliligaw daw sya. nawindang ako. tapos panay ang tawag at text kahit hindi ko na sinasagot kaya ayun binlock ko number nya.
tapos parang sabi ko ayaw ko na. kakatamad din naman kasi. pero may nakachat ako na guy na ok kausap. as in walang bastos or anything like that. as in tamang kwentuhan lang. tapos when he asked for my number after mos of chatting, binigay ko na. then i deactivated my account dun sa online app na yun and sa text na lang kami nag usap. tapos after almost a year of texting, nakipagmeet na ko and he was a perfect gentleman. he asked if pwede nya ko dalawin sa house and i said no, naintindihan nya and he respected my decision. and on our second date, sweet at gentleman pa rin sya. months apart yung mga dates namin eh. so i realized na i like him na rin so ayun recently lang sinagot ko na sya and ganon pa rin sya. sweet and a perfect gentleman.

Great story!

Nagalit ako to show na I don't tolerate comments like that kasi gumagawa ako ng paraan to meet women naman.

It's not about luck/swerte in terms of getting a good match pagdating sa online dating and AGAIN, in real life, it's about making sound decisions and weeding out the ones you really don't like. But that doesn't mean you'll give up easily.

But life doesn't work that way.
