i'm glad someone created this thread because i'm a certified beauty minimalist! (i'm working on being a minimalist in other aspects of life too, but this takes more effort and commitment) to stay on topic, i have a very humble stash of make-up. sure i drool over crazy make-up collections since they really are pretty to look at. there even was a point when i spent most of my money on buying make-up. i'm relieved i got over that phase quickly before i filled my dresser with useless stuff. i observed, i can consume a pan of blush in a span of six months to a year, so.. having too many shades and similar shades at that proved to be a waste of money. the same case with other products. BUT.. when it comes to make-up.. i go for quality, not quantity. i'm not comfortable using local brands so i always splurge on more trusted, imported brands. i don't mind paying a few more bucks for what i use everyday.

speaking of everyday make-up, i love the natural look. i'm not a fan of a fully made-up face in going to work. it takes too much time and effort both in putting on and taking off, plus, it's not good for the skin. i also do not want people to get used to seeing me with lots of gunk on my face everyday that i become unrecognizable to them once make-up free. you know what i mean. all i apply is bb cream, loose powder, brow powder and sometimes, lip gloss. i only add blush, mascara and eyeliner when i go to the mall, special appointments or gatherings. i save eyeshadow and foundation for formal events.

with skincare, i like what i can easily maintain. i use products that are affordable and easily accesible. it is a given, of course, that they work for me. hiyangan lang talaga. i don't want expensive or unfamiliar skincare that would have me search the other end of the earth once i run out. kojic soap, olive oil and toner are my staples. i follow a very simple regimen that does not require me putting on layers of creams before bedtime. i come home from work tired and drained, and it really helps if i can take care of my skin without having to render another waking hour.

Nice, may ganitong topic pala. It's been a month since I started a destashing project. I placed almost all my makeup and skincare items in a bag. Tapos, kung ano lang ang kelangan ko, yun lang ilalabas ko.

Kung ano yung matira after 2 months (hopefully) less, I'll dispose of. Either give away or throw, Di ko alam kung expired na kasi yung iba.

Kahit na on and off padin ang pagpigil ko sa sarili ko bumili ng makeups, medyo getting there na ako sa pagiging masaya sa spending habits ko.
My stash is being purged na to the ones that really work.
