Yes, they had a coordinator. We also wonder why the coordinator did not make suggestions, even if maybe she was just an OTD.

It's also possible that the coordinator already made suggestions but they didn't want to provide for everyone because of the expense.

@j.adore- we're still friends. im friends with the groom, so we tried to understand na lang that he tried to give in to everything his bride wanted even if it was out of budget..:-(

...i'm also not sure if they mentioned anything or apologized during the speech because i already left when it started to pour along with many other guests. As I said there was no transpo service, so we had to hitch a ride with those going back to downtown

(well, unless ikaw si denise laurel na 2M yung wedding) Another friend, whose father is a high-ranking political figure sa lugar nila, opted to have a destination wedding to avoid just that - mga PG na makikikain lang, who don't even bother to know the names ng mga ikakasal.

I have a question. My church is at the manila cathedral while the reception is in felicidad mansion, which is in roosevelt, qc. Accdg to google map, 55mins ang max travel time with traffic. Would that be okay for the guests? What can you suggest? Should I tell them in advance na we can provide their transpo para di hassle for them?

^i agree with sis elarose. consider din the date/day of your wedding. is there a tendency to rain? is it a friday? tsaka yung time ba rush hour? pero manila cathedral to roosevelt is really far, i'm guessing kulang ang 1 hour travel if traffic is to be considered, google maps is not really reliable kasi sa time. try siguro traveling from the church to your venue on a similar day and time as your wedding para maestimate mo talaga. pero in my experience as a guest, if i really care for the couple, i wouldn't mind attending sa ceremony kahit malayo ang travel time. what irks me is pag dating sa reception, gugutumin kami nang matagal despite the effort we exerted. kaya more than providing transpo (kasi regardless if you provide transpo, same din, ieendure pa din nila ang traffic), make sure you provide more than enough cocktail food and refreshments when they arrive at the reception para worth it ang pagod.

Thanks for your replies. Our wedding is on a saturday, 3pm. Mother ko ang nagbigay ng go signal na ok lang daw kahit 1hr ang travel time since 4pm matatapos ceremony and 5.30pm na ang latest arrival ng mga tao sa venue. Maaga pa daw yun for dinner. We will just provide super daming food while they wait.

yes you may indicate on your invite that transpo will be provided from church to reception venue. I agree with the others that it will likely take more than an hour even on a Saturday though.

I reckon pag Sunday lang lumuluwag ng konti mga daan but I'm not sure now.

Kahit di maulan sa wedding day nyo,  for sure itll take more than an hour from your church to reception. Para sa guests yun. But how about you and your husband? Syempre may postnup photo shoot pa kayo. So most likely baka mga 7pm na kayo makarating sa venue. Kakain pa kayo, retouch and all. Just make sure nga enough ang food para di malipasan ng gutom ang guests.

I attended the wedding of my cousin (groom) and there was an incident that pissed my aunt she almost lost it. Before the couple left the church, the family of the bride asked the groom to take off her shoes at palitan daw with a pair of converse. Parang pinalibutan nila yung couple tapos pnressure nila na ganun. Only to find out that the bride's family pala believe sa pamahiin na paghubarin ni groom ang shoes ng bride before leaving the church magiging under daw yung husband sa wife. Super pissed off my tita pero pinili niyang deadmahin nalang, pagpray nalang na any bad intentions will not prosper. Minsan, especially pagsuper mapaniwala yung parents sa pamahiin nagccause talaga ng problem. tsk tsk.

And btw, the MOH was super chill during the wedding as in nakaupo lang siya, yung naglift ng veil ng bride sa communion is yung priest pa. And the candles were not lighted kasi yung "coordinator" hinahanap yung secondary veil. After witnessing this, nagdecide na ako na never scrimp on my OTD.

Nevertheless we had fun naman and we enjoyed the reception.

I have attended two weddings na mostly is wala kaming nakita sa mga pangyayari during the program because of super daming tall flowers. (unless tumayo ka talaga sa harap ng stage/dancefloor para makita mo yung mga parts of the program) Nasasayangan lang ako coz it is supposed to make the wedding beautiful but ang ending, your guests find it very hard na makita yung program nyo sa and ending, they wouldn't just mind at all.

^the reason why we had a simple set up. ayaw namin may tall flower vase. kasi sa picture taking din hindi makikita yung mga tao, baka hindi din sila makapanood ng ayos during program.

The HMUA did not show up.
We were at the preps area around 5am only to find out no one's gonna make us up. We had to prep on our own with so little time kasi late na narealize na wala pala mag-aayos. Even the bride had to put her own make up. My hair was literally air dried and I didn't have time to fix it. As in ganun ka rush. But still this wedding is one of my favorites kasi I know how my best friend fought for her now husband.

____

There was tension between the families at ramdam na ramdam sa wedding.
After the reception, nagmamadali yung side ni lalaki na umalis (the wedding was held at the bride's hometown) at wala ng paalamanan, obvious na obvious na bastos ang lalaking to. The bride was 10weeks pregnant na that time pala. Up until now the bride is forced to stay away from her family, as in bihirang - bihira sya umuwi sa kanila kahit noong surprised 50th birthday ng tatay nya.

____

Maingay at madaming activities.

^nightmare sis ang hindi dumating ang HMUA  :'(

so far ang worst na naexperience ko eh yun hindi ko alam na may cocktails pala hahahahah we waited for the couple till dinner at gutom na gutom na kami. No one told us, may emcee and coordinator naman. So yun buong table namin kuwentuhan lang. And the surrounding tables din di rin namin nakita na kumain. Maybe it was announced when we're not there yet. ;D

So from this, I will really remind my coordinator and emcee to tell guests maybe twice or thirce na may food, kasi di lahat sabay sabay ang dating. So they might miss the announcement.

^ naranasan ko yan, hindi nga lang ako yung bride.. bridesmaid ako at kanya kanya kami kumuha ng HMUA para sa sarili namin. yung sakin hindi sumipot yung magme make up sakin, at take note, walang pasabi man lang! so on that day, on the appointment hour, dun ko lang nalang nalaman di niya gagawin pinag usapan namin. wala pa naman akong sariling make up kit! yung haggardness kong maghanap agad ng parlo na mag aayos sakin in punto dahil after ilang hours kasal na ng bff ko at bibiyahe pako. kaloka yan. natrapik pa kami. huli nako nakarating sa kasal at halos nasa gitna nako ng misa nakaabot.

I attended a wedding last year na late ang food by almost an hour.  Well, it's a budget wedding where they had to ask the aunt to cook and they just rented utensils and the like, pero gutom na ang mga guests.  Tapos, naubusan pa ng kanin! haha!

Okay lang sana, pero I heard that the bride spent a lot for her gown and yet she compromised the food naman.  It's true when they say that guests are not really into too much details, as long as you give them masarap at madaming food. :)

Gosh, nightmares! For me, ok na yung issue sa food, make up artists, and ulanin pero yung mga drama queens na kamaganak, LALO na parents, THAT'S LOW so unacceptable.  >:(

^What do you mean drama queens ang family? I think normal lang na maluha ang parents lalo na sa side ng bride during the wedding. May nagwawala bang kamag-anak sa kasalan kasi ayaw nila pamigay kapamilya nila 😂
