^Yeah may ganon pala na gusto madami nila invited rin friends nila i guess para di sila bored or what. E we don't even know those friends of hers ha. So buti nagsabi narin na di pupunta pero ang sinabi is dahil malayo daw. I would feel bitter feeding someone a 2k per head meal kung ganon pala sya. Gosh sana maglabasan na lahat ng ganyan para ma-weed out ko na :))

^Oo nga sis ano. Naiisip ko kasi yan kasi some of my hs friends may ugali na pag may invite to an event magtatanungan muna "Pupunta ka?" I guess that's a good thing nga din.

Ugh! I hate that! I get that from hs friends too. Baka classmates pala tayo ah? Haha kidding.  Anyway, like invited kami sa viber group or save the date thru facebook. & nag reply ka naman ng yes for all to see tapos i-message ka pa to ask. So, they just said yes but will think about it?! Ano tayo highschool? Kelangan dikit dikit? I also hate getting asked (as a host) "sino pa invited mo?" Ugh.

Good morning mga sis.

^Hehe medyo mean, but true! Di dapat sumama loob natin sa mga ganyang tao kasi loss naman nila. At least on the couples' end, di na natin sila gagastusan! Haha Im not bothered about it anymore nung naisip ko na i would feel worse if they only went for friends tapos pinakain ko pa nang mahal. :)) At least nagsabi nang maaga. Ok lang di pumunta basta nagsabi maaga so i can invite replacements :)

We're getting out of topic na seems these are more for the "problems" thread than "worst wedding" :)

From experience, worst for me would be di masarap yung pagkain to the point maghahanap ka ng restaurant right after just to satisfy your hunger. Sorry I'm such a foodie!

From what I heard from others, worst is bad weather in what could have been a beautiful beach wedding. Maganda yung mock ups kaso halos wala na execute at sayang yung mga DIY :-[

True sis j.adore... Weather could really turn a wedding into a nightmare... bilib lang ako sa mga suppliers that still show up despite the storms. I saw a wedding vid by my videographer, sa Bohol yung wedding and kasagsagan ng bagyo... they captured it on video.. pero good thing is it still turned out to be a beautiful celebration :)

On the worse wedding "heard", I met with a supplier who narrated that her sister booked the event venue for 200pax... but less than 100 showed up kase kakatapos lang ng bagyo that day :(

it happened few years ago. I was suppose to be the commentator. so ready na ang dress ko... then my groom who was my BFF called me christmas time to usually greet then ask if I can meet up with her bride the day after.. since holiday at no work i said yes..

naku only to be told that they are asking me to replace one of the secondary sponsor kasi daw nag inarte na after matahi ang gown sinabi hassle daw kasi wala sya transpo.. eh nag offer naman si bride na friend nya na dun matulog sa hotel at magbihis after.. iisa lang si bridesmaid kaya wala pwede iadjust na abay..

the day after i had to bring it sa coutourier nila kay edward teng!! to have it altered since tinawagan nila.. susme ako pa pagalitan nung nag adjust. flat chested si abay at ako eh gifted eh wala na masyado space!! no choice ako kasi 3 days na lang before the big day kundi mag tiis na ipit galore! napabili pa ko ng shoes to match at pa sched sa mag make up..

come wedding day wow na wow si bride sineryoso na yung mahaderang sister ang mag make up kahit sinabi ko na use the make up artist kasi big day nya!!!

habang kami ng bridesmaid na sister ni groom eh fully made up! siya namumutla kasi ordinary make up lang.. eh di rin naman sya kagandahan (peace!) hay sayang mahal pa naman ng gown nya..

===========
another wedding

nung reception susme nagpaikot ng white envelope for cash!!! nakakabaliw kasi parang donation lang ang peg. as in forced every table na lagyan yung envelope at nakabantay si groom. kahit na ba tropa it was so off..

tapos yung program ayayay talaga parang palengke..

===============
breakfast wedding poolside reception

==============
relatives wedding

groom side kami.. wow the whole time from their ceremony (protestant) to the reception nag concert si ate ni bride! ok sana kung singer eh kaso hindi.. naglolokohan na nga kami ng mga pinsan ko tabihan na namin kumanta para tumama sa tono..

================
out of town wedding

wedding 1
it rained at open yung reception. me tents pero ang heels namin kahit me nilagay na cardboard going to the buffet nagkalusot lusot kasi basa na din yung sapin.. madami AVP at back to manila pa kami.. nakakaaliw when we got the give away 3 pcs crinkles cookies.. pare pareho reaction namin na bongga ng set up anyare??

wedding 2
emcee nya pinsan ng bride.. kaso nung time to eat iniwan pag emcee...coord to the rescue...tapos eto na nung speeches ng ninangs di nagpatalbog ang ninang.. instead mag wish sa couple nag issue ng invite sa mansion nya kasi bday nya daw the next day!! lahat kami ay [textspeak!] daw yun..

naiyak si bride after kasi hanggang sa huli daw eh umeksena ang relatives nya nung kausap ko after the wedding..

regarding dun sa 3 pcs choco crinkles, baka hindi lang talaga priority ng couple yung mga giveaways. sabi mo nga bongga yung set up. baka naman bumawi din sila sa reception? kahit ako, we will be serving candy bar buffet at for me enough na siguro yun for giveaways.

LOL kaya ako Id rather not give any souvenir kaysa to give a souvenir na bitin or kulang. For me its all or nothing. Either I do it right or wag na lang.

^palagay ko pwede naman daanin sa presentation. simple tokens can turn into something special with a cute packaging. :)

as for the white envelope thingy, there are better ways to ask for monetary gifts. i agree, nakakaloka nga yun. it's either do a money dance or indicate in your invitation that you prefer monetary gift. there are creative ways to state it on your invite without sounding too imposing.

Di ko sinasabing masaya na ako sa 3 pcs choco crinkles or cookies or macarons or whatever but if it tasted good i would honestly be happier with that than a useless figurine with the couple's names and wedding date. Saan ko naman gagamitin yon?? Daming ganyan sa Tabora/ Divi for like 20-50php each. Labo talaga bakit uso. Haha. Sayang ang pera ng couple.

Just an advice to those considering giving away food as souvenirs. Kindly check the expiration dates. Our best man shared that in a wedding that he recently attended, the souvenirs the couple gave away were already expired! I don't know if the couple being based overseas was a factor in the oversight. Sayang and weird because it seemed like they had a nice wedding --- nice church, venue and a good roster of suppliers din ata.

Chili1113: dear just out of curiosity, what constitutes as bitin or kulang na wedding favours? Napaisip ako about mine eh hahaha

For me its kulang or bitin like when I got this giveaway before that was in a nice container but only had like 4 pieces of chocolate covered almonds inside hehe. Although there was a note explaining what each of those 4 almonds represent to the couple i.e. one for prosperity, one for love, etc. Maybe it would have been better if the couple placed those chocolates on the tables nalang so that they would be more like a small snack during the reception instead of a giveaway. Weird kasi 4 pcs of almonds parang the container looked so empty.

But I agree with sparklingjewel! The worst ones are those figurines with the name of the couple and wedding date. LOL Although, matagal na matagal na I havent seen one of those. Thank goodness!

Hehe on a side note, I am actually one of those people who like receiving plants especially low maintenance ones as a souvenir. Only thing stopping me is that my mom told me that giving away a cactus/succulent plant is bad luck as it will make the marriage "dry" daw. I don't think thats true, but still...

Oh dear, that's one of the no no's, to give away expired goods.  I'm hoping that this was a lapse and not an intended act. I know that there are some Pinoys who even sends boxes of sweets even if they knew that the sweets are expiring within a month. And they are well aware that it will take a minimum of a month or 2 for those boxes to  get to their recipients. So by the time na makuha na nila, expired na yung mga sweets.  As a person who is based overseas, that is one of the things that we always check whenever we buy goods which we intend to send home.

Same with sparklingjewel, I would rather receive goods no matter how few they are than receive a figurine or a ballerina of some sort. :)  :)

Sis, I don't think they intended it naman. Hehe. Could be because they're busy (transporting stuff?) or somebody just "sponsored" it for them. We really don't know the circumstances. Just sharing so couples would take time to check. Minsan kasi because of everything that needs to be done, we tend to neglect these small details that can nonetheless adversely affect the outcome of our respective weddings :)

^Chili1113 and bonzaigirl, the last time i received a figurine souvenir was 2012 ata. And it's a bad thing really bec i still remember til now hahaha! I remember the bride was proud that it was personalized pa aka engraved with their name and wedding date. Errr no one needs your details on something they plan to use in the future. Mas mahihiya lalo sila gamitin if may ganon.

I'm sure not everyone agrees, but personal opinion ko lang, anything you 'personalise' and brand with your name wedding date is an unnecessary vanity and makes the item less usable by the guest. So on napkins, fine. On your venue, fine. Not on guest souvenirs if you actually want guests to keep and use them. Unless it's in a removable gift tag then ok lang. :p

On a diff note, some cultures consider succulents as malas nga pag alagaan sa house. Up to you if iaavoid or not. But to be given one as a souvenir, i dont know sinong mamalasin hehe how can you avoid it if you were given one sa wedding, maybe di nalang kukunin?
