^xxIcePrincessxx, hehe sa isang events tent in Manila ba yung wedding ng kilala mo? Actually it was a nice wedding naman. Just didnt expect the place to look so empty an hour after food was served. And the venue was huge, and so it was really noticeable once the guests started leaving.  As in, eat and run more than half of the guests. I hope this doesn't happen to me =(

oo! events tent in Manila :-P Le Pavillion ba sis hehe no expense spared sa wedding nila and ginastusan talaga :D

ako inisip ko na lang, even if it does happen to me (waah wag naman sana) i will try to enjoy the moment pa din and still try to make the wedding fun for those who will stay :)

Hi sis j.adore, wala silang contract as far as I know. Ang HMUA kasi nila ay from the parlor near their place since hindi uso sa probinsya namin na gastusan ang HMUA. Nalaman ni HMUA kay bride mismo a day before the wedding.

Sis deathwatchspider, I agree, very unprofessional nga ang hindi pagsipot.

Just want to share:

Kwento ng Mil to be ko, na experience nila sa isang wedding na inattend nila.

The program starts with grand entrance of the couple next is  Money dance. Then nagtataka sila lang lahat bakit after ng money dance wala nang next program nor food.. They waited more than an hour. Then the host daw ata announce, na tapos na ang event..

After few weeks, they found out na after pala ng money dance, dumaretso yung couple sa office ng event place, to count the money na nakuha nila, unfortunately, malaki pa ang kulang nila kaya dinala sa prisinto...

Sabi ni Mil to be, akala ata ng couple malaki ang makukuha nila pera, kasi sobrang bigatin at super dami nilang ninong at ninang (base sa invitation card) kaya medyo ginawang bonga daw [textspeak!] wedding(para sa province nila)

^^ ano ba yan! Tsk tsk..

sis BabyAnnisha, this is so sad :( kaya din two years ang prep time namin to ensure that we will have all the needed funds for the wedding.

I was supposed to help him plan his wedding, from searching for suppliers, to budgeting etc, but he can be a real jerk and threw a lot of words at me, pressuring me, telling me that it's his big day and I better not screw it up kasi sila (ng fiancee niya) ang mapapahiya. I was appalled. First time ako nakaencounter ng groomzilla, tas kapatid ko pa. Anyway, I bailed out of being their planner, and they found one who was supposed to just be the caterer, but offered to plan the whole affair at a budget of 60K.

Please take note that this is a province wedding, so a 60K wedding budget is not unheard of. My brother asked me to be in a couple of meetings with the planner, and after 2 meetings where the planner took almost an hour to arrive, I was beginning to have my doubts about her 'expertise'.

When the big day came, it was a disaster. The reception venue, which was supposed to already be designed and prepped since the night before, was not yet ready, even at noon. The planner kept making excuses, saying it was the venue's issue, since there was another event the night before. Like really? She could've started in the morning, but her people didn't start work until 2 hours before the reception! Also, the planner came in late for the wedding preparation! She only arrived after the bride had already been made up (thank goodness for competent photogs and videographers who worked without the planner, that was the only bright spot during the day). Then, come to learn na yung nirequest nila na smoke machine, di pala nakuha ng planner.  Yung planner suggested na she'll just get incense from the church and fan it. LIKE WHATDAFUQ???!!! Thankfully, we had resourcesful bridesmaids (na nasuper stress din dahil sa katangahan ni planner) and managed to acquire the smoke machine last minute.

Di pa tapos. Oh no, di pa. During the wedding itself, there was no bible bearer. Why? Because the planner insisted there was no need for a bible bearer in a church wedding!! She insisted, kaya wala!

Also, muntikan nang nagkasunog, kasi yung bouquets sa aisles, nilagyan niya ng mga kandila...sure, it looks pretty, but she placed the candles UNDER the bouquets. We had to stamp out the flames while the ceremony was ongoing!

When we got to the reception, the food god damn AWFUL! The cake looked decent, but nothing special, and tasted like nothing special. Also, the bride and groom requested, and VEHEMENTLY requested months before na ayaw nila ng program (both are rather shy about that, and they just want dinner, then uwi) but the planner comes out and does and entire night's program, complete with dances, garter toss, bouquet toss, etc. Sure, almost all weddings have that, but the couple had told her even before hand NOT TO HOLD A FRIGGIN PROGRAM! Then, after the wedding, marami pa tirang food kasi di nga masyado masarap. Still, my mom thought to take home some, and of course she asked permission from my brother and sis in law, who insisted she do just that. Pero nakita ng planner si mama and BLOCKED HER WAY, ASKING HER WHY SHE WAS TAKING FOOD!!!??! My mom had to reminder her that she was the mother of the groom adn she was allowed to take food. As soon as my mom was done, and no sooner had she turned her back, the planner ordered her people to hide the food!!! MY GOD ANG BABOY NI ATE!

Ang ending? My bro and sis in law filed charges against her (the 60k had apparently ballooned to over 100K because she kept asking for more and more money as the days progressed). Luckily yung isang ninong eh lawyer and helped them at least gain a bit of refund. Not much, but enough to settle things.

That woman, I forgot her name na, and her catering business, had apparently chosen to have my brother's wedding as her first try in full wedding coordination. I learned through some sleuthing that she used to be an underling for a wedding planning and catering business, but split to launch her own catering business.

Guys, I urge you that if you're gonna get a planner, get a reputable one. Wag niyong isakripisyo yung big day para makamura kayo especially if wala pang magandang portfolio yung planner. I learned from my brother's mistake and my planner made sure my day was amazing.

sis gm_icon7885, very unfortunate ang nangyari sa wedding ng brother mo :( It really pays to have a very good and trusted coordinator for the wedding. This is why this is the first supplier I have booked kahit na malayo pa ang wedding date.

grabe ang sad ng stories dito. although hindi maiiwasan na may glitches, i am hoping na minimal lang ang ma experience naten na future brides. we have prepared so much for this and ang saket naman if may di ma execute nang maayos and kung eat and run ang mga guests.

my cousin's wedding.  di ganon ka-ok yong organizer sa reception.  tapos it was only scheduled until 3pm.  kaya as in saktong 3pm, pinatay ang AC.  di man lang inextend kahit papano.  no choice but to cut the program short.

^^ yong Pavilion Hall sa Oasis Manila sis.  I'm not really sure kung sinabihan ang pinsan ko, pero kahit na, it was a disaster to just shut down the A/C while program is ongoing (although medyo patapos na) and guests are still there.  di na rin masyadong nagpicturan after reception with the bride and groom kasi nga super init na at pinatay na din ilaw.

No extension .

^ yes worst yan nakakahiya sa bisita. ako i got the genset na lang from my l/s supplier. and will make sure my AE will inform us before mag end un time para makapag advise kung mag extend. mahal din kasi ng extension, 8k per hour.

Hi, mga sis.

This is 2nd hand info na but from one who was there. It was a bag - can't recall kung attache case kasi or not.  Iniwan sa kotse and inside that bag yun regalo - na pera.  As in one bag of money.  That was why I commented na i-factor rin ninyo yun parking at safety in such an area.

My worst experience was simply 6pm kami pinasisipot sa reception but had to wait until 8pm to be served.  Tapos first na inihain was mani.  Yun sa table namin yun bago pa lang - as in first day pa lang niya - maging waiter.

Aw, pag malaking pera dapat manager's check or the usual cheque talaga..
Even if you check/confirm that it's safe in the area, kung may nakatunog na merong taong may dalang bag of money, di ba sinusundan yun? Ok maybe I watch too much movies pero parang drug deal lang ang peg :o
