When to Vaccinate your pets?

Sis Abu, yun nga kinatuwa ko ee pinastop na ni Doc Rachel yung vaccine ng bebe ko after second shot of 6 in 1 unlike sa unang vet na from VIP rin ee nirecommend na bigyan pa sya ng 2 shots of 6 in 1 and 2 shots of 5 in 1 kahit na may 5 in 1 shot na sya from previous vet of the breeder. According to Doc Rachel since 3mos na daw yung bebe ko okay na daw ang vaccine nya considering na healthy naman daw ang puppy. That time nagdalawang isip pa nga ako kasi all in all tatlo lang ang magiging vaccine ng alaga ko ( dalawang 6 in 1 at isang 5 in 1) pero after reading yung mga articles that you posted nakahinga ako ng maluwang. Less chemicals ang baby ko less pa ang gastos ko sa vaccines. 

^Sis 9 mos na ang fur baby mo tapos continuous pa rin ang vaccine nya? Nakailang vaccine na sya lahat-lahat? Regarding deworming our vet told me na every 6mos ang deworming if indoors ang pet and every 3 mos if outdoors naman.
Yung anti-rabbies I'm not sure pero ang sabi yearly daw. But when I search the net regarding the matter wala nman nakalagay na yearly dapat, as per PH law.

i think last na [textspeak!] 6 in 1 nya sis. hindi ko matandaan kung ilang shots na ang meron sya sa dami. check ko yung booklet nya bukas. complete naman lahat ng shots worry ko baka kasi na dodoble para lang kumita yung clinic tho marami naman nag papachek up dun. wala kasi talaga ako idea kung ano ba talagang mga shots ang kelangan espescially kapag puppies palang . kaya kung ano sabihin ng vet go kami. 10mos na yung baby ko ngayon AUG 1

^Sis I think sa nababasa ko dito iba iba nag protocol ng mga vets when it comes to vaccine. Pero most common na naencounter ko and ang nirecommend din ng first vet namin is dapat 3 consecutive shots ng vaccine with 2 weeks interval then yung pang apat is booster na lang. Tapos yung anti-rabbies is pwede na din ibigay on their third month. Yung anti-rabies diko muna binigay kasi may mga nag advice sakin na pagpahingahin ko muna yung baby ko from vaccine. Pero sis kahit ano irecommend ng vet nasaiyo pa rin naman ang desisyon. If tingin mo pineperahan ka na lang ng clinic I think it wont hurt naman to seek other opinions from other vets.

^ako din sis, 3rd 5in1 shot na ng pup ko today. he's 5months na. gusto na nila isabay kanina yong anti-rabies shot :-)

sabi ko wag muna, pahinga muna siya ulet ilang weeks. hehe

Sis Abu, yoo-hoo! Where are you? Hehe... December due kami for annual boosters. Hay, now palang iniisip ko na if pass ba or what. Like last year. Pero syempre panalo vet. 

Mga sis, sino na sa inyo nagpa titer test?  Mabilis ba results and how much does it cost?

I agree with all of you. Pag nasa vet ka na ang hirap to say No.

sis twelve, sorry busy-busyhan ang lola mo haha! inaatake ako ng sinusitis, wala akong gana magforum haha! Si Diego until now di ko pa binabalik for annual shots, last Feb and March pa dapat yun haha! so far okay pa naman sya.

Sis yung titer testing di ko sure kung same yung ginagamit abroad, di pako masyado nagresearch about this. ang natry lang namin is Canine Vaccicheck, test sya to determine the current antibodies. 2010 namin natry, 800 sya that time. Kailangan lang ng blood sample tapos within 1-2hours malalaman na results.

Guys have you read the latest study on Rabies Vaccine, it is effective daw until the 3rd year, pero during the 4th year-5th yr medyo nawawala na effectiveness nya.

I will ask VIP if they have the test. Will also discuss it with doc Gina. I'm curious din what her opinion is about skipping annual booster shots.

Walang titer test sa VIP. I was surprised to learn that a clinic their size and supposedly modern (vs other small and local clinics) dont have it.

Sis abu, pwede malaman which clinic/s have it? Sana accessible samin.

this is about Vaccicheck, ito yung ginamit namin to test the antibodies for distemper, pero applicable din sa parvo. ask your vet baka meron sila nito. pwede syang alternative for titer testing, sa US lang kasi ata meron nun eh.

altheabride, yup iba yung 6in1 sa 5in1, usually 5in1 muna ang ibibigay for the first shot, tapos magiging 6in1 na. 5in1 or DHPP (Distemper,Hepatitis,Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus type 2), Parainfluenza, & Parvovirus) 6in1-DHLPP same din nadagdagan lang ng L for leptospirosis. check mo yung vet record nya, nakasulat sa stickers yung ginamit na vaccines

Parang ayoko maniwala sa 6in1 shots na ya. Yan kasi yung last na ininject sa shihtzu namin
 Tapos nun nicheck ko yung sticker na dinikit sa booklet, nye pareho lang nakasulat eh darker lang yung kulay ng sticker.

Anyways.. Pinapabalik pa kame ulit natapos na kasi yung 4 shots ng 5in1 at isang 6in1 .. For kennel cough daw. Need pa ba yun? Kasi kung hindi  naman sya ganun kaimportante di ko na babalik pet ko

Hi sissies ask ko lang po, first time kasi namin mag-alaga ng dog, toy poddle po last march namin nabili. 3months na this month pero never pa namin navaccine. Twice deworm, milk, vitamins and dog food everday lang talaga kami mula nang mabili siya.  Pero masigla naman po, though minsan uma-aching siya. May friend kasi ako na namatayan ng dogs dahil sa vaccine kaya natakot ako pavaccine dog ko. Kelangan na po ba talaga ipavaccine at anti-rabies 3 mos toy poddle ko? Im kinda worried po kasi eh. Tia

Re vaccines sis I think malaki ang naitutulong nyan to keep our babies from being sick. Nagiging delikado lang yan if na overdose or mali ang pag administer. Just be mindful and observant sa mga binibigay ng vet mo sa pet mo. Meron kasing mga vet na namemera at sobra sobra kung magbigay ng gamot, although marami pa rin naman ang mapagkakatiwalaan. Kaya very important na you consult a reliable vet.

Btw, accdg to my vet ang vaccines like 5in1 or 6in1 ay binibigay starting 6-week old pup tapos every two weeks na yun until maka three vaccine tapos booster na lang. Ang anti rabies naman is two weeks after ng huling 5in1 or 6in1 tapos yearly na. Pero recently nabasa ko yung research ni sis abu na effective pa ang anti rabies until maka 3 years so hindi ko yearly pinapa anti-rabies ang pet ko so tipid din. Kaso pala sis in your case 3 mos na sya wala pa syang vaccine? I remember din doc rachel, my vet from VIP, na if three months naman na ang pet mo and healthy sya binibigyan nya na lang ng 1 shot ng 5in1 or 6 in1 then booster tapos anti rabies and deworm na lang. Kawawa naman sila dba kung puro chemicals ang tinuturok sa kanila.

Also research lang ng researh, para kung may irecommend man sayo ang vet mo hindi ka lang oo ng oo. It'd be a big help kung may idea ka sa pinagsasabi ng vet mo. Back read and browse ka lang sis ng mga threads about pets madami ka matutunan from sis Abu and other pet owners.

Mukang magaling yung napuntang vet sayo sa vip sis. Namatayan kasi kame ng puppy dyan last year, napunta samin na doctor bago lang sya.

Anyways, nakakadismaya pala yung vet namin kasi minsan pinag sasabay nila yung shot ng antirabies at 5in1. Tsk!

Hi sis @solepurplelife Thanks much sa info. Actually before pa talaga namin plano ipavaccine baby ko kaso natatakot ako sa kwento ni neighbor na nadeads alaga nila after vaccine. Nadeworm na 2x baby ko, vaccine nlng talaga wala. By the way po, ilan months ba required para sa anti rubbies? At ano po mas mabuti 5in1 or 6in1? Hehe la talaga ako idea :-)

jodainess, ang mga vaccines may mga side effects sila, di lang sinasabi satin ng mga vets. yung death ng dog ng neighbor mo pwedeng dahil din sa vaccine, healthy dogs lang dapat yung binibigyan ng shots. tsaka merong cases na nagaactivate yung virus instead maging immune sila, ito yung delikado pag nangyare. so be very careful with vaccines, kumpletuhin nyo lang yung first series nadiscuss na natin to backread lang, lifetime immunity na yan. kahit nga anti-rabies hindi naman pala kailangan yearly. may mga ongoing studies about this, i hope iupdate ng mga vets natin yung vaccine protocol. let's be informed at banggitin natin sa kanila para mapush sila to do more research. may mga seminars sila feeling ko nadidiscuss naman yan eh, may mga matigas lang ang ulo at pinupush yung nakagawian hehe.

anti-rabies--3mos up
kennel cough/pneumonia-this is not a core vaccine, i think may mga links na din dito backread lang. maraming factors ang cause nito, and para lang siyang common cough and colds, nakukuha sya sa antibiotics, there's no need to vaccinate our dogs for this. yung mga dogs ko nagkaron pa rin kahit may bakuna sila, i don't recommend this vaccine, waste of money lang, spend it on real food instead to boos their immunity.
