US TV: Smash

It's getting critical praise. But the real test if it will stay, is when the ratings pick up, after pilot is aired on Feb. 6.

Smash's ratings down 26% on second episode. Hala!

Eto napansin ko --- walang expression si Katherine McPhee pag kumanta!!!! Hindi ko siya feel!

^i have the same observation. maski dati pa. medyo blah din yung acting niya for me.

gusto ko yung song nila na let me be your star.

i'm on the fence sa decision nila.

ivy lyn can be annoying sometimes. kasi siya yung tipong will do everything to be the star. pero no doubt naman that she is the more marilyn between the two. plus megan hilty is great (yay galinda!).

si karen naman underdog kasi and hindi siya typical marilyn type (kamusta naman yung mega push up dun sa dress niya diba?) plus it would be a nice story din for someone who is a total neophyte in a dog eat dog world, succeed. kaya, for me, ok din siya maging marilyn. para maiba naman kumbaga. but a lot of times, i can't get past my dislike for mcphee. haha.

i just don't like how they made Ivy seem self-entitled sa episode 2. parang nabawasan tuloy bilib ko sa kanya. so i'm rooting for Karen.

I think I'm slowly leaning towards Debra Messing's character as my favorite. =)

As an actress, Katherine McPhee is fine. It's when she's singing that I can't connect with her.

Megan Hilty reminds me of this Barbie doll I broke as a child --- bumaba yung ulo and nawalan ng leeg, tapos naging bilog ang mukha. LOL! Pretty, but something's really off with the face. She sings better than McPhee, though. Yung emotions, kuha.

The third episode was not as smashing as the pilot, but I'm really looking forward to what happens to the fourth episode coz those who have already seen the first six episodes say the 4th is the best. We'll see...

The show is really nice and pretty pa rin ni Katherine Mcphee. I just hope mas maging exciting pa ang mga susunod na episodes kasi baka kapag sobrang magdrop ang ratings baka hindi na magkaron ng season 2

Oo nga sana may mangyari namang maganda...nanghihinayang ako sa series kung hindi man marenew or bigla ipull...

Somehow the ivy-katherine reminds me of the characters of rachel ng glee and idina menzel, both talented vocalists but the other sings with emotion clearly portrayed kaya mas maganda pakinggan at panoorin compared to the other...dami pa kulang kay katherine pa or maybe thats their characters since ivy is the veteran nga.

^may barbie din akong ganyan, nasira ball ng neck kaya pagbilalik mo ulo parang nawala leeg...nostalgic lang...

Dropped another 18% in the ratings. Looks like this one's crashing. Sad.

No one daw in its audience (USA viewers, ibig sabihin) likes the fact that the show is not about the two lead girls specifically, kasi diba, yung production ang emphasis.

You have Anjelica Houston and Debra Messing and all those other people. Mas may intriga pa buhay nila, than the actual 2 girls. To that I say....nge! Gasgas na yung ganung kwento eh, ganda nga there's drama behind the scenes.

Fourth episode is the real test, let's see nga if people get into it!

Katherine McPhee is singing Adele this week. 4th episode na! Crossing fingers it's gonna be worth the time.

i really like this series also! sana wag naman macancel due to low ratings. i love the characters and the story line - what goes on sa paggawa ng isang musical.

Last night's episode was good and stable! Yay! Sana tuloy tuloy na.

Tama siguro yung nabasa kong review --- viewers would be a lot more interested if it's about the two lead girls. It was crossing on "Bituing Walang Ningning" territory kagabi.  Mas exciting pa siguro yan when Uma Thurman comes in and tries to steal the role of Marilyn.

Oh ivy is such a......toot! Lols. Parang musical version ni cherie gil. Kakagigil sa inis.

And it dosent help caroline either since a- ivy is sleeping with the director and b- looks like the composer guy has the high school crush on ivy....but wait is he gay ba?

And looks like caroline "karen" found a friendly group vaklas  .....with matching make over pa....

atleast episode 4 finally had slight ratings boost, hopefully so with the succeeding episodes

Yung dancing ni Karen (Katherine McPhee) in the first few instances, sadya yung pagka-awkward, right? Or pagka-exaggerated. Pero dun sa last part, she was supposed to get it done right, diba? Para sa akin, it made no difference. I dunno what's in her I find really off while she's dancing. No grace? I figured out the singing part. Katherine McPhee cannot connect, walang emotions ang mukha kahit maganda voice. Yung dancing...is it because she's so pretty?  So thin? Tall? Kaya hindi rin ako maka-connect?

I don't enjoy watching her perform, even if her voice is good, as much as Ivy Lyn. Pag si Ivy Lyn na the voice and the delivery, perfect.

i love this show. naiyak pako nung sinabi ni katherine na "You're just like me. You were all just beginners before" something like that. nung pinatalksik sya sa number. ang painful nung part na yun.
