To DIY or celebrate at a restaurant/ fastfood? Which is more practical?

Sa mga sis na nakapag-organize na ng party, saan ba makakamura?

I originally planned a DIY party for my baby pero habang tumatagal, parang lumalaki na ang expenses. Mas maganda kayang nagparty na lang ako sa isang resto/ fastfood?

kapag DIY kasi:
rent ng venue
caterer / food plus rent chairs and tables
you can decorate everything
host/ activity of your choice

kapag resto/ fastfood naman:
so usual naman ng food (lalo na kung mcdo or jollibee)
you will be charged per head
no hassle - sit back and relax na lang
mas more likely na walang palpak

your thoughts please mga sis? TIA

Hi sis,

If DIY ka kasi tama the more expensive sya kasi you have to rent pa a venue, caterer and sound system compare sa fastfood/resto na andun na so if ang per head sa Jollibee at 172 per head yun na yun plus amenities fee nalang. Mas matipid talaga.

Now ang cons ng fastfood/resto ay madami silang restrictions on themes and things/food you want to bring in. If madami ka details mahihirapan ka. Unless pagkabook mo nun theme nila seat back and relax ka nalang. Add ka nalang ng separate supplier for balloon decorator mo and photo/video and you are done.

Yun palpak thing me some resto/fastfood na di rin OK me unting glitches. Pero yun nga mas relax sa kanila.

If you dont like Jollibee or Mcdo then why not check on Congo grille, Max's, Shakey's.
Though mas mahal ang per head nila compare to mcdo/jollibee. Shakeys naman same lang sa mcdo/jobe pero iba ang ambiance. Me mascot din naman sila.

We had our two parties at shakey's masaya naman ako sa result. Me mga napasok pako mga food.

Thanks sis! Actually, kagabi nagcompute and compare ako... kapag DIY talagang stress ka na, mas mahal pa!

Nakita ko nga post mo sa Shakeys thread - i was inspired! kanina i visited tomas morato branch -- aba! swak! masarap food dun and maganda ang branches nila. kaya decided na ako!

I don't like Barney theme kasi I planned on a rainbow theme... pero ganun na lang, magdadagdag na lang ako ng rainbows!

i agree with mistiqshannen..  may pro's and cons pareho...  since ang question mo eh saan ka ba makakamura, i must say that the question is quite vague

madaling sabihin na mas mura sa fastfood but there are also some moms napapagkasya 10k sa birthday all in na DIY sila...  so i guess, you need to elaborate kung ano ba gusto mong meron sa party niyo and your budget...


FASTFOOD  (jollibee/mcdo)

-almost worry free, specially kung hindi ka naman choosy sa theme, food, cake etc..
-restrictions on many things... though pwede ka naman nakipagnegotiate sa kanila... be sure nga lang to put it in writing
-IMO, bitin yung 2 hours party time
-no side entertainment


DIY

-matrabaho obviously...
-on the day itself, mahirap maacomplish lahat kung wala kang support group
-unique
-iba yung fulfillment after  kapag napuri yung DIY mo
-initial investment ang madugo pero afterwards, sulit na sulit naman.. like yung chocolate fountain and candy bar set-up, 5 times na nagamit mula nung binili ko yun

Kahit naman you decided sa shakey's sis you can still customize things like you bring your own balloon decorator to make the venue has this party party thing mode. Tapos buy mga lootbags related to rainbow or make one. Mga kung ano anong DIY para mas mapaganda mo ang venue at party sis.

For me kasi, sa kadalasan napupuntahang party ng mga kilala natin lalo na pag fastfood or resto is plain as it is walang pinagkaiba sa regular resto visits nila aside sa me program nga pero yun feeling na you put effort on decors mga details is far different na at super matutuwa pa sila.

You can also bring in like candy buffet if allowed ito or sorbetes/nestle ice cream

Faice paint also, chocolate fountain or even photobooth if papayag sila.

This coming august house party naman ang plan ko pero not an ordinary kiddie party uli na napupuntahan ng mga kapit bahay namin and some friends when they attend house party. Feeling party party talaga! from decor to pica pica bar to the juice to the cups they will use to the souvenirs and loot bags lahat themed.

And i want to get this time magician or puppet hehe.. Para masaya.. Mas mahal ng unti compare sa mga fastfood parties namin kasi wala naman ako ng photobooth, magician nun e just ice cream and candy bar nun..

Depends sa type ng party na gusto mo sis.

Like sa Bpatismal ng anak ko, dahil hindi lahat ng relatives invited and mga ninongs, ninangs and close family members lang ang invited, nag eat all you can kami. Yung main goal kasi namin is ma baptized na si Aidan. So walang party talaga. Since wala namang bata na invited (aside sa families) nag enjoy sila sa food. =) Sa Tramway pala kami.

On Aidan's first birthday naman, dahil may mga kids and lahat ng relatives and friends e invited, DIY na kami. Almost a year din yung preparations kasi ako gumawa lahat. Kaya malaki talaga yung tipid namin. Food and entertainment lang yung hindi DIY. =)

Chinese and Kung fu Panda yung theme. =)

The res DIY na. AVP, loot bags, decorations, balloon arch, invitations, etc. Yung photographer hindi narin kami kumuha kasi sister in law ko and husband niya marunong sa photography. Pati na yung isang pinsan ni hubby.

Sa pamilya namin, palagi kaming DIY party, kasi malawak ang lawn namin, so doon na rin ang venue palagi, sa food lang catering, pero siyempre lahat ng detail , eh aasikasuhin mo yun, ng ikaw lang.

Sa fastfood naman, first time naming nag fastfood noong binyag ng bunso ko sa Max's, at sa first birthday naman niya sa Sept. eh fastfood din, sa Shakeys.

Ang maganda lang sa fastfood, magbayad ka, tapos, wala ka ng iintindihin.


Difference lang, sa DIY, pagod ako, pero masaya naman, mas mahaba ang time na makakasama mo mga bisita mo, mas mahaba ang kwentuhan.. Unlike sa fastfood, may oras lang na pwede kayong mag party, fast pacing din.


So depende na rin kung ano ang mas kaya mo, fastfood or DIY.

For me, practicality hindi mababase sa kung resto, fastfood or DIY.. Nasa details yan ng party, ilan bisita, sino suppliers, ano food? etc..

kahit fast food kung bobonggahan ibang details e magastos din..

kapag DIY naman kung sisimplehan lang details eh baka mas mura pa..

so it all boils down sa details ng party.. especially ilan ang guests and yung food (cheapest or most expensive menu?)..

i agree with izabelle. but aside from what she has mentioned, i also think yung practicality would depend on the amount of time you can spend for the party preps. for a working mommy na time pressured and stressed at work, it will be more practical na mag bday sa fastfood. pero if you have tons of time pa naman for preparation, i think more practical na mag DIY.
