Activities during cocktail hour / before reception

our plans are:
1) cocktails
2) candy buffet
3) photobooth
4) jenga-blocks guestbook (we hope our guests will be very creative with their messages)
5) carnival games - throwing rings around bottles, knocking out a stack of cans, and throwing balls in a basket (winners get prizes)
6) bit trip/mario kart - our favorite video games

Pardon my ignorance pero ano yung jenga block thingy? Nag iisip din ako ng activities dyan and so far, photobooth, pica pica and few games din ang balak namin gawin suggested by other sissies din sa GT.

Our invits include customized bingo cards which also tell our invitee how many seats are reserved for them.  Obviously, they have to bring the card/s w them.  Ang walang card di kasali. Hehe.

hi f878, sure! i just got the idea from tumblr and it fits perfectly with our rustic theme :-)
hi yannuh, instead of a photo guestbook or a paper guestbook, we will ask our guests to write their wishes for us on jenga blocks; so every time we play with our jenga blocks later in life, we will remember our wedding day :-)
another idea i saw was the wooden puzzle guestbook; the guests were asked to write their wishes on the back of a wooden puzzle forming the photo of the couple. i like these ideas because we can play with them after. they don't get stuck on a shelf, gathering dust ^_^

hi yannuh, i just realized i wasn't able to explain what jenga blocks are - it's a stacking game using blocks of wood. first, you stack all the blocks so it looks like a tower then every player takes a turn in removing a block from the tower and you can't take a block from the top. the objective is to take a block without toppling the tower. the person who topples the tower, loses :-)

5. we had a slideshow of our photos para hindi sila masyadong ma-bore
6. then the instagram game

Hi ladies, I am STILL stumped haha I'm only about to really start planning for my program so im taking it seriously na. Good that some of you have candy buffets and such.. unfortunately for me this is all i have so far for my 1.5 hour cocktails:

- Cocktail food (hors d'oeuvres, savory pies and puffs)
- Beverage bar (brewed coffee, frappuccinos, 2 kinds of juice, water)
- Cushioned benches, wooden tables & chairs (latter comes with the venue)
- My band will be playing a relaxing set
- Guestbook to sign
- Photowall (?) - thinking of setting up one of the nice corners for this pero no idea pa

belle_v2g thank you for the suggestion, i checked the fb page, but kinda expensive 13k kasi their portfolio seems like a normal photobooth? Or it must be someone else..

My fiance thinks with good food and ambience baka dala na daw... what do you girls think?

^Kamusta crowd mo msdianne? May mga taong kahit may games kasi deadma lang haha nakakita na ako ng wedding na super daming games during cocktails pero dinedma lang ng guests. Guests who will be the same crowd as mine, so i know na hindi papatok to. Chika chika lang sila. Haha. May crowd din naman na game na game sa mga photobooth and games...

^sis if you know your guests i think ok na yung binanggit mo above for cocktail. Wag ka na mag games. For me ha ok na yung sinabi mo kasi chill chill lang sila chika chika pika pika i think ganon type guests mo eh.

^Di ko nga gets eh, they didnt even sit for like 1.5 hours.. in heels and all. Di ba sila na-bore? Haha. Kasi kami ng fiance ko medyo. Apart from stuffing ourselves and talking to relatives parang wala na magawa. I guess di rin kasi masyado photogenic the place, konti lang spots pero if madami photogenic areas we would have taken lots more pics. The couple followed to the cocktails and started playing some of the games, the bride in her gown and all. I guess yung hilig nya hindi nag rub off dun sa relatives and friends nila. Mabuti nga sis kung masaya na talaga sila sa chikahan nila at pica pica. I just dont wanna bore anybody.

sparklingjewel, i don't remember suggesting a 13k photobooth since mine is only thebasic one at 4,8k which is a gift from my moh. i remember mentioning about the full studio set up and thats 18k last year and they do portraits plus highquality photo frames to give the guests. this is a diff supplier though.

^ there's another mobile photo studio called Photo Popular by Ronly Perez. There will be a mini studio setup in your reception venue and your guests can have their portraits taken there. So if you have like 200 guests, then individual / per couple ang photo taking, siguro naman that is good enough to keep the guests preoccupied while waiting for the newly weds. It's far better than the photo booth and the last time I inquired it's around 13k.

Yes... I agree I guess I'll be adding more photobooths nalang I won't give souvenirs para busy na din sila sa cocktails. Then madami talaga na food and drinks while waiting. It would suffice na. Then acoustic session (friends) and my band will play na din.

^msdianne Is your photobooth special like onsite studio ba sy or something different? Ayaw pumayag my fiance sa normal photobooth..laos na daw in his eyes! So i suggested ok pwede bang photowall nalang (where guests will take pics of themselves para may magawa) pero wala naman akong alam na supplier. Am thinking kung onsite studio of some sort na unique baka pumayag naman sya haha hayy sana makahanap ako soon!
