What is the difference between a facial serum and a moisturizer? Based on what i've read here, serum is for skin brightening and that it is more potent than a moisturizer. Other than that ano pa ba pagkakaiba?
Gusto ko sana mag try nang serum kaya lang parang pareho lang ang effect sa moisturizer. Naalala ko kasi before my derma advise me to use vitamin c serum pero sabi nya wag na daw ako mag moisturizer kasi yun na daw ang moisturizer ko.

Serums are usually more potent. Whether hydrating or not depends on the serum and its formulation.

Note lang on vitamin c serums, it has to be potent and properly formulated as the oxidized formulations can be more damaging to the skin, so hindi porket sinabing vitamin c serum, solved ka na. Research muna.

Thanks sis. I'm considering to try avalon vit. c serum based on the reviews here. Ask ko lang kung mag vitamin c serum ba ako pwedeng hindi na ako mag moisturizer nabasa ko kasi dito they still put moisturizer on top of the serum.

^^I've tried Avalon Organics before and ok lang soya. It is moisturizing so no need na for a moisturiser, pero in terms of effectivity as a C-serum, hindi ako masyado sold.

Thanks a lot sis. Na view naman yung link. Maganda sana yung description nya nang Jason Ester-C very low nga lang ang conc. yung mychelle and La Roche mukhang maganda rin kaya lang meron kaya binebenta dito. Yung Jason kasi mukhang meron sa healthy options.

^may limited selection of MyChelle products na in Healthy Options, although I havent checked to confirm if the c-serum is one of them. For La Roche Posay, I think you can find it online or join pre-orders. i really think mas sulit if you use the right product, rather than waste your time and money on something that claims to be something but doesn't have the science to back it up.

Sorry sis but I have no knowledge of skinstation or any of its products. If there's a brand other than "skinstation" do post it here so those who know can give reviews.

To be honest, I'm a bit iffy about locally-compounded products, lalo na yung hindi naglilist ng full ingredients on the packaging. My derma has advised me -for which she earned my trust and respect - that if I'm going to use anything on my face, make sure  it's US FDA approved. Because that would mean the product has undergone proper testing by experts in the field. Random products can easily claim results, lalo na dito, because consumer protection laws are either non-existent or too loosely applied.

^googled dermax professional, made by the owner of skinstation. I have no personal experience with the product kaya cant say much about it. And the owner is obviously ansuccessful dermatologistmand would know more than I could ever claim about skincare, hehe. Up to you sis, but I still stand by choosing US FDA approved over locally compounded.

^ Sis Caren, thanks sa link. Super useful yung comparison. I'm now using the anti-oxidant serum of Juice Beauty. although wala sya dun sa list, mukhang ok naman effect sa skin ko so far. pag naubos to, will try to order yung la Roche na Vit C serum.

I used the body shop facial serum yung green ang bottle parang wala naman ako na notice na effect kaya hindi na ako ulit ako gumamit.

First 2 months of using Olay Regenerist, rosy ng cheeks ko. Ngayon parang nawawala na ang effect na ganun.

So this is what I do,

Initailly booster muna ang ginagamit ko. It boosts up the effectiveness of the serum. What I use is the
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster. Then IOPE Whitegen Ampoule Essence pinagaalternate
ko with Trouble Finish Essence (this one is the only serum in the market na I know has
Vitamin B & K which is very beneficial for the skin) The Ole Henriksen is about $48
but it's all worth it. IOPE naman is a high end skin care brand in Korea which works really well for me.
