my sis was diagnosed with pancreatic ca..she dont like to be operated thinking that her condition my get worst..we went to dr, tam mateo clinic, hoping alternative med will work..today is the start of her all veggie and fruit diet with Livegreen, Miracle tea and organic chemo..she also started eating blended guyabano fruit and drink boiled guyabano leaves

I would strongly suggest that she consult a Medical oncologist for her condition. How old is your sister? Where ist he tumor exactly located? What does she feels? Any abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin?

agree with DocShe.  pardon my skepticism but alternative medicine alone would not be enough for pancreatic cancer.

Best to be open to all types of treatment, double prong approach kumbaga. My dad was diagnosed with a rare cancer (hemangiopericytoma) and he has started the guyabano approach too. He was also looking at going to Fuda Cancer Hospital in China, but having second thoughts now due to negative feedback on the efficacy of the treatment there. Next steps will be for papa to check with different doctors in Pinas to see the appropriate treatment for his case. Ang sabi kasi ng isa amputation agad. He was taken aback with this, so getting a third opinion...

acc to the ct scan result the mass is in the head of the pancreas 2.8 cm..without metastasis..yes her eyes and skin are yellow.. her doctors want to operate and perform the WHIPPLE procedure..shes really not open to the idea of operation.... its her 5th day taking the diet protocol hopefully there will be improvement..she also drink guyabano tea and eat blended guyabano fruit..
but on tuesday we wil also go to an oncologist in st luke for 2nd opinion..FUDA i think is out of the question because its very expensive..

is there any pancreatic survivor here please share your thoughts and experience and also doctors

Tue pancreatic head mass is pushing the 2nd part of the duodenum (small intestine) and the common bile duct causing the yellowing of the skin and eyes. Pain and vomittimg may also be experienced. I still suggest that only surgery can be of help to the condition of your sister.

I suggest consulting a GI or gastroenterologist capable of doing an endoscopic ultrasound, there are consultants in PGH and st lukes global who do this. It will more accurately stage ur sisters Ca and can also do biopsy. Not really recommending alternative treatment have had patients with poor results. I hope this helps.

2 loved ones had pancreatic cancer both by accident nakita. yung isa early stages pa he got operated on,  did chemo and therapy, he's all better now. cancer nya was the same as what steve jobs had--idol pa naman nya si pareng steve so at some point happy sya he had another thing in common with him.  i read in one article sa yahoo na he tried battling it out through alternative medicine but  he later regretted not taking the operation as suggested siguro  too late the hero na when he opted for it. most likely this was before he had the transplant.

the other loved one mas complicated it started as a dull back ache na di pinansin. later na discover she had other things going on and she had an aggressive kind of cancer and stubborn after the treatments and surgeries. so if there's something unusual happening  such as any abnormal pain better go get a check up and not ignore.

if going through the procedure gives her a better chance might as well go forward with it if it all looks promising.  marami kayo mapagdadaanan emotionally and as long as she keeps a strong constitution  and if the whole family remains positive in your daily dealings with a loved one being stricken with cancer your whole family and  sister may just about overcomes this.

^awwe welcome dasal lang para maguide kayo whatever she decides on respect her wishes nalang importante rin is to do all you can do to make everything easy for her and para no regrets on your part. update us nalang how she's doing and what her plans are.

ay ito i asked kasi kung whipple surgery yung ginawa dun sa brother in law ko, he's the one who had it it was detected when he had a mild stroke and by accident.  his was a neuroendocrine tumor after that hindi na pala sya nagchemo kasi they took it out. after a year na rin  now he's all cancer free. as per my sissy she said look for a really good surgeon who's done numerous whipple procedures dyan rin kayo maging vigilant when it comes to the treatment and when finding a surgeon or a doctor.

i hope we can find a good surgeon if ever pumayag syang magpa opera. its one of the reason also thats why she didnt like to be operated.
doctors should really be experienced and expert in whipple

Hi. Endoscopic ultrasound is relatively noninvasive  its like an endoscopy lang can even be done outpatient .
