Breakfast buffet at l'fisher hotel
Tour guide at mambukal. We gave him 150 and he replied that tourists usually give him 300-400. This is after we paid the habal habal guys 150 for the three of us going down. I read in the net that people usually give 50 bucks. So i felt he was trying to rip me off.
Pendys napoleones - too sweet
Day 1
We took the shuttle from the airport and asked to be dropped off at sm bacolod north wing drop off (across manokan) P150 per head.
Purposely wanted to go down to Sm so that we could have brunch at Aida's Chicken. Maybe I expected too much because for me the inasal wasn't as good as i thought it was. I even saved my appetite for it. The garlic rice was good though maybe because it had chicken oil mixed in it.
After our disappointing lunch, we walked back to sm to get a taxi on the other side of the mall going to l'fisher hotel. The meter showed 70 bucks but I didn't hve the exact amount and the driver didn't have change so 100 it was.
Checked in at the hotel but it was too early so we walked across the street to eat at calea's. The latte was good with cinnamon but the imported choco cake wasn't moist anymore. The icing tasted yummy and not too sweet. Didn't try other cakes as we were still full from lunch.
We also walked around lacson street which is a very good location for the hotel. Lacson street offers a lot of stores and restos. You have pendys, 21, cafe bobs, felicia, calea, nena rose, trattoria uma, bongbongs, merczi etc. being on the main road, you can always find your way back to the hotel easily. Negros showroom can also be found in lacson
The hotel got us a taxi for 500 to bring us back and forth from the ruins. I loved how roger the tour guide shared his stories. Very funny guy. The 95 per head entrance was worth it. The other guide also took photos of us around the ruins. Out of everything in Bacolod, it was the ruins tour and visit that I enjoyed the most. As far as food is concerned, I can food trip in cebu or davao for seafoods too. There isn't a distinct taste from what other provinces can offer.
For dinner, had the driver drop us at 18th pala pala just walking distance from the hotel. Good seafood too and good customer service.
Day 2
Car rental through nyala tours 1800 for a self driven sedan 24 hours plus gas. They brought the car to the hotel 10.30am and picked up the car day 3 10.30 am. Spent 550 for the gas. We used the car mainly to mambukal and some city driving day 2. Day 3 we went to silay and also city driving in bacolod.
Mambukal - the hike was fun and tiring at the same time. Had to navigate using google map which was frustrating. Parang amazing race lang na adventure. It was a good experience though.
Also visited san sebastian cathedral when we got back.
We wanted to have dinner at aboy's sunday but didn't know that they were closed sundays so we ended up at Pendy's. Enjoyed their sinigang na tanigue and cheeseburger which i know was a weird combo. Haha. Ate gave a free taste of napoleones but I thought it was too sweet.
So instead, we tried felicia's dulce de leche cheesecake which was cute and yummy.
Day 3
Woke up early because we needed to return the car by 10.30am
Drove to silay to check balay negrense but it was closed so photo ops lang outside which was good enough
Saw hofilena place, el ideal bakery, and cafe 1925
Back in bacolod, visited the negros showroom in lacson street where you can find different local products.
Last stop was aboy's for lunch and virgie's shop for more pasalubong.
