Go to Libertad Market or ask the jeepney driver to drop you sa terminal nang Mambukal. The weather is good, sarap mag Mambukal. Try the dipping pool, nakakarelax so better bring your swimming attire. Sa dipping pool, d sila strict, so shorts and shirt lang oks na but sa swimming pools nila, required mag proper swimming attire.

no need for a tour guide sis. from the Bacolod cathedral, walk towards libertad market. 'shopping' tawag nila sa lugar na to. sa gilid ng market andyan yung mga jeep na may signboard 'murcia'. this is the town where mambukal is. inform the driver and the konduktor na ibaba kayo sa mambukal. pag paso nyo ng mambukal, may entrance fee tapos dun na kayo kumuha ng info sa office nila. Helpful naman sila. I'm not sure though kung may available map na sila. likewise ganun din pabalik ng Bacolod city, sakay lang ng 'Murcia-libertad shopping' jeep sis. May mga mini bus din na kung daredevil ka, pwedeng sumakay on top of the roof.

Btw, paano po pumunta sa Ruins from Go Hotel?

^mismong sa mambukal may guides kayo na makukuha at dapat kumuha kayo kasi baka maligaw kayo.

From go hotels sakay kayo jeep Libertad. Baba kayo sa Pepsi Bangga. May trykes dun,kontratahin nyo para balikan. Nasa P60/pax kame dati for 4pax.

in our case we didn't get a tour guide at di naman kami naligaw. there are so many signboards and there's a billboard of a map that serve as guide. we wall-climbed, swam in 2 pools, made paluto in their canteen and lunched at a tree house, took a private hot bath in a Japanese bath house, went boating in a lagoon, walked in the hanging bridge and climbed the falls (up to 3 falls lang kasi hingal na), steamed our faces in the sulphuric pool, dipped our feet in a dipping pool, had a relaxing spa, and took pictures of sleeping bats hanging upside down on trees. Ang di lang namin nagawa is mag zip line.

sorry sis cari I haven't been to the ruins yet. From marapara golf, we passed by a memorial park kaso nailgaw na kami hahaha.

Hi sisses! I'm going to Bacolod with a friend on Dec13-16. Can you please take a look at our itinerary? Pa-comment please kung impossible or hindi convenient yung timeline. This is our first time to go to Bacolod, just built this itinerary from backreading and blog posts.

9:30am Arrival at the airport
Brunch at Silay (Cafe1225/El ideal bakery)
Go straight to Punta Bulata

Check out from Punta Bulata
Check in at GoHotel
Food trip dinner

Day 3
Mambukal (9am-1pm: enough time na kaya ito to visit the 7 falls? 9am start assuming 7am kami aalis sa GoHotel)
Snacks and libot at The Ruins

Day 4
Silay/Talisay Tour
Lunch & Check out from go Hotels
City proper tour (Lagoon, Capitol, Negros Museum, Hall of Justice, old Provincial Jail, La Consolacion College, Cathedral, Public Plaza, Pope John Paul II Tower)

Do you know where is Don Salvador Benedicto and St.Joseph Parish Church aka Church of the Angry Christ? Saan day kaya okay isingit sila na puntahan?

^ok na to sis. my friends say maganda daw ang punta bulata resort though southern most part na to from bacolod. I've been to the town itself, cauayan (where the resort is), and it is almost 4 hours away from Bacolod. di lang ako sumama to punta bulata coz matagtag papasok from the highway and I went back to bacolod din kasi agad.

don salvador benedicto is farther from Murcia. papunta na ng san carlos, negros oriental ito. scenic ang view, parang baguio - hilly and pine trees everywhere and the climate is cool and the highway is kennon road's tamer version. going there, madadaanan mo ang magnetic hills nila.

the church of the angry Christ is inside the subdivision of victorias milling co. northern side naman ito ng Bacolod and nearer ang Victorias town from silay. alam mo pag dumating ka na ng Victorias kasi amoy asukal na. Sa day 2 nyo pwede isingit ang Victorias kasi eto ang mas malapit. As for don Salvador benedicto, you need a day.

leihin, we've been to Punta Bulata by public bus and took us 5 very long hours from Bacolod City. overnight lang din kame dun, mas mahirap pabalik ng city proper kasi 2nd o 3rd town sya mula sa dulo na inaabot ng bus. so pagdating sa hinobaan madami ng sakay yung bus, nakatayo kame for almost an hour until we reached kabankalan where we transferred to another bus na aircon naman. ang ginawa namin kasi hinobaan to kabankalan then another bus from kabankalan to bacolod city, pabalik almost 3hrs lang ang byahe kasi mas mabilis pag aircon bus. siguro dahil mas mahal sya eh konti lang ang sumasakay, kumbaga yung mas nakaka-afford lang. mula sa babaan sasakay pa kayo ng tryke, 30mins pa uli ata at matagtag talaga ang last few roads? kung may private car kayo mas mabilis at kumportable. maganda sa punta bulata, mahal nga lang ang food. if weather permits nagtour kame sa danjugan island, around P1500/pax ata with food na.

yung mambukal tour nyo try nyo pa agahan ang alis, para mas mahaba ang time nyo dun. almost 1.5hrs ang byahe by bus to murcia. hanggang 3pm ata ang bus going back to bacolod city. walang diretsong byahe pero upon arriving sa city proper, pwede na kayo dumiretso sa talisay by jeep tapos balik by jeep uli at baba kayo sa Pepsi/Bangga papunta sa The Ruins.

sa Day 4 nyo mas ok siguro kung city tour muna at isabay nyo na ang pagbili ng pasalubong. upon checkout saka kayo dumiretso sa silay tour, magkakalapit lang halos yung houses. papunta sa airport pwede na kayo mag-tryke malapit sa Cafe 1925, 15 mins lang ang byahe sa tryke from silay.

Cari,shirt at shorts pwede pero kung maliligo ka bring proper swimming attire at pamalit na damit kasi baka mabasa ka sa falls.

^since aakyatin nyo ang falls and as the trail becomes steeper and slippery, dapat yung sturdy rubber slippers or trekking shoes like teva, Columbia or north face.

mga sis, question naman about mambukal. kailangan ba magrent ng picnic hut/cottage. 2 lang kasi kami and we don't intend to stay that long. baka swimming sandali ang picture-picture. may naka-try na ba na hindi magcottage? meron bang pwedeng pagiwanan ng gamit? thanks.

^well they don't have a locker where you could safe-keep your things. If you don't want to rent a cottage,  there are picnic tables naman. mura lang naman sis, parang 50 or 100 lang ata ang rental.

Thanks ss. Safe ba pumunta sa bacolod ngayon kasi alam ko naalektuhan din sila ng bagyong yolanda?

^safe naman sis. Bacolod city is not as badly hit as that of Leyte and Samar. in fact, normal naman sila hours after the typhoon struck. yung coastal towns outside of Bacolod city suffered destruction (uprooted trees, public buildings and houses nawalan ng bubong).

^^nasa gitna ata banda ng negros ang bacolod eh? Even during past typhoons na nagbaha sa ibang provinces, hindi apektado ang bacolod.

^no sis. Ang nasa gitna ng negros occidental are Murcia, eb Magalona, canlaon, la castellana, don Salvador benedicto, etc. Bacolod city is a part of negros occidental. coastal ang Bacolod city. nakaharap ito sa guimaras and Iloilo city. but the beaches nga lang are not really conducive for swimming kasi maraming nakatirik na squatter, in short, polluted. if iloilo city is affected, then expect bacolod city to be affected too. this time, good thing these two cities are only slightly devastated by Yolanda.

but I've been to one resort hotel pala in the city that is fronting the beach kaso bawal ang swimming sa beach. sa mga pools lang allowed. I like this place too kasi cozy ang duplex cabana na nakuha namin and there's a jacuzzi nearby. the resort's name is palmas del mar and it is near the old airport, gaisano mall and Araneta street, singcang.

@sis Cari....it was business as usual the day after the typhoon struck here in Bacolod.  Even on the day of the typhoon itself fast food chains were still open. We were spared from the wrath of Yolanda.  Although some northern towns like Cadiz and Sagay were badly hit but i heard zero casualty sila. We're blessed lang kase di nag storm surge.
