it's nice to see lots of good reviews of Bacolod. The city i love and live in.  Let me know if any of you girls need any help or info. I'd be more than happy to help you girls out.

Sis hoopchick, question lang po. Overnight lang kasi kami sa bacolod this November, mga 6am yung dating namin sa airport kaya balak sana namin dumiretso na sa mambukal. Need ba namin mag rent pa ng car going there? or pwedeng i-commute? Thanks!

^sis  sa port na mismo. maraming trips naman sila in a day and there are 3 ferry companies yata.

Day 3 - Mambukal Resort at 6-10am almost 2hrs bus travel from and to Mambukal. pwede kayo umalis sa hotel ng 4-5am kung gusto nyo makabalik ng lunch time sa city proper.
           Balay Negrense, Fountain of Justice and some suggestion naman po, please ang napuntahan namin sa pagkakasunod-sunod sa paglalakad namin sa lacson: Lagoon, Provincial Capitol, Negros Museum, Hall of Justice, old Provincial Jail, La Consolacion College, Cathedral, Public Plaza (tapat ng Cathedral), Pope John Paul II Tower (nasa labas ng SM)
           
Sis Ayionick, naconfuse lang po ako. From domestic airport, 2 hours bus ride po going to Mambukal? land travel lang po going there? Sorry, first time ko lang sa Bacolod kung sakali on November. Thanks!

Thanks sis! Commute lang kami going to Mambukal.  Excited na ako sis, kaya lang balak sana namin sa L Fisher magstay kaso wala ng available budget rooms sa date ng trip namin. Second option ko yung siguro Planta Hotel.

^sis, yung sagot ko na yan galing sa hotel sa bacolod city proper yung nagtanong. kung galing kayo sa airport, add ka ng 30-45 mins travel time from airport to bus station. then the 2 hrs from bus station to mambukal, another 2 hrs from mambukal to bacolod city proper uli. posibleng kayanin sa 1.5 hrs depende sa oras ng byahe nyo, kung before 6am mabilis ang byahe pero kung beyond that since madami ng pasahero eh matatagalan/hahaba ang byahe nyo.

first time ko manood ng masskara festival last week, and nakakatuwa pala manood...
kahit umuulan ng saturday tuloy parin iyong contest, sobrang bilib ako sa mga students na kasali kasi parang hindi sila napapagod, nagparade and dance na sila sa street tapos pagdating sa plaza when its performance time na eh inulan sila...

^i just got back from Bacolod trip also and first time din to experience Masskara Festival, grabe nga yung mga participants.  Enjoyed it so much, sobrang bait at maasikaso ng host namin.  Though ruins lang napuntahan ko, ang dami ko naman nakainan.

^sis parehas tayo ruins lang din napuntahan namin kasi 2 days lang kami and we really allot our time for the masskara festival... Its really enjoying to watch... And puro kain lang din nagawa namin, masarap nga magfoodtrip sa bacolod...

We went here last January 2012 pero day trip lang. Galing kami Iloilo tapos nilibot namin buong Bacolod the whole day. We were able to stroll around Silay ancestral houses and Talisay Ruins. Medyo bitin nga yung day tour namin kasi hindi namin na-try mag Mambukal and I want to try their restos especially yung Calea.

Ano pa ba masarap na restos in Bacolod city? I definitely want to go back after few months when I give birth.

halos lahat ng kainan dun masasarap kainan at mura compared dito sa manila. kaya binabalik-balikan namin ang bacolod. mapa-fine dining o carinderia-like na kainan for sure masasarapan kayo sa food nila.

^ I agree sis. May kinainan kami near Silay town proper na masarap yung chicken inasal and to think parang canteen type lang sya. Super limited kasi ng time namin for day tour kaya kung ano lang yung makita namin na nearest kainan dun kami pumunta. But from my friends' testimonies marami daw talaga masarap kainan sa Bacolod.

^not sure kung El Ideal yan, pero isa pa sa masarap na kainan sa Silay yung Cafe 1925. mura at madami ang serving nila, 1 order pwede na sharing for 2-3 pax.

^ sis san yang Cafe 1925 sa Silay? Gusto ko try yan kasi next babalik kami ni hubby kasi yung isa namin friend magpapakasal sa Bacolod, so after the wedding explore namin ang Bacolod

^sis, kung galing kayo sa airport sakay kayo ng tricycle sa labas. ibababa kayo sa sakayan ng jeep papuntang Pepsi Bangga (yung papuntang The Ruins) kasi yun ang parang main terminal ng jeep going around Silay, Talisay, at Bacolod. Not sure kung part yun ng Talisay o Bacolod na. Anyway, yung Cafe 1925 dun banda sa sakayan ng jeep papuntang Pepsi Bangga nga. Likod ata yun ng BPI, pag di nyo nakita agad kasi mukha syang bahay lang eh ipagtanong nyo lang dun kasi kilala naman sya. dinadayo pa yun ng mga taga-Bacolod.

^thanks sis. Medyo familiar ako sa area ng Pepsi Bangga. Yan yung bababaan going to Ruins or Pa-silay city. Bangga kasi in Ilonggo/Bacolod is kanto (if I'm not mistaken). Try namin to pagbalik namin ng Bacolod. Bitin kasi sobra yung tour namin at least kahit 3 days man lang para makapunta din kami Mambukal resort.

^kame bitin pa din kahit 3 days, 5 days hehe...dami kasi pwede puntahan though babyahe lang talaga. pero for us kasi ayos yung nagbabyahe lalo na pag sariwa yung hangin at maganda yung view.

Yehey! Thank you sa thread na to at nasulit namin yung over night stay namin sa Bacolod. Hehe. Umulan nung early morning pagdating namin pero the rest of the day hanggang kinabukasan, ok na yung weather. Masarap nga and super affordable yung food! Na-exceed din ng Go Hotels yung expectations ko sa itsura ng room, first time ko kasi i -try yung Go Hotels.
