Bacolod-Silay-Talisay (Negros Occidental) Thread 2

mga sis mga 6am dating namin ng bacolod. if ever ba na we decide to straight to saltimboca, how do we commute papuntang ancestral house and the ruins? jeep jeep lang ba?

we will be in bacolod next week (coming from iloilo/guimaras)... should we rent a jeep ba when touring the city (my friend suggested an itinerary starting from manapla town, then going to canetown, silay yhen bacolod city) or can we commute?

would all jeepney drivers know these areas well? ang worry ko kasi... baka mag-rent nga kami jeep pero mawawala lang din kami half the time kasi they're not familiar with the tourist sights (though malamang naman din hindi, if taga-dun sila)

how far is manapla town? and would you know the day rate if we hire a jeep?


KENOY... saltimboca na rin kami. I computed kasi, even if we stayed in L'Fisher Chalet, mas mura pa rin ang family room sa Saltimboca (and we can get another room pa, kung sikip kami, for the price we're going to pay at L'Fisher chalet). I read nga kasi from michi's blog na Circle Inn was far from the restos and we'd rather we're able to do things on foot din... and not rely on tricycles all the time just to be able to eat or shop for some emergency whatever (like cakes for a sudden sweet tooth, haha)

^manapla is 1 and 1/2 hours away from bacolod. you will pass by talisay, silay, and victorias pa. it's very easy to commute in bacolod as there are only two popular streets where the happenings are - lacson st. and aquino drive. the taxi drivers are accommodating naman.

Kababalik lang namin from bacolod. This is supposed to be our last stop after going to bohol and cebu but we ended up going to iloilo as well as our side trip. This ws our iti:
Day 1 -Arrived in bacolod-silay airport by 8:30am from cebu city
           mambukal resort - went up to the 3rd falls lang, di namin kaya up to 6th
           Lunch at Bob's resto
           Dinner at Kubo sa Lawn
Day 2- mambukal resort - sulfur dipping pool
           The ruins
           Lunch at Aboy's - love their pangat and squid fat And grilled scallops
           Dinner at Chicken House, dessert at Calea
Day 3 - went to iloilo by ferry at 6:30am
            Bought pasalubong at biscocho haus
            La paz batchoy at Ted's
           Back to bacolod by 2:30
            Late lunch at 21 resto
            More pasalubong shopping at Pendy's
            Back to manila by 8:30pm

^from murcia, you still have to go back to lacson st. and from there, to talisay naman where ruins is. i think one sis here detailed her itinerary to and from ruins. pa backread na lang sis.

nakakamiss ang food sa bacolod!  try mo din yung pangat and squid fat, sarap sarap!

ang dami ko pa rin gusto itry na cake sa Calea pero wala ng time.   babalik talaga ako sa bacolod!!!

sis, bus from murcia ang sasakyan namin? ano landmark ng babaan sa libertad? nakarating na ko ng bacolod pero mahaba kasi yung lacson kaya di ko alam kung saan dun banda yung babaan. ang naaalala ko meron dumadaang libertad-bata jeep sa harap ng l'fisher, abot yun hanggang pepsi bangga. anywhere along lacson ba yung libertad?

pasensya na sis medyo hindi ko kabisado ang sasakyan from murcia either bus or jeep yung sasakyan basta sabihin mo na lang sa KUNDUKTOR or DRIVER na e transfer na lang kayo sa BATA na jeep. sa harap din mismo ng lfisher lacson my dumadaan jan na BATA papuntang bangga pepsi. tanong tanong lang kayo sa mga driver siguradong tutulongan kayo nila kung [textspeak!] sasakyan nio.

just got back from our iloilo-bacolod trip


we sort of travelled in comfort since we have kids so we hired na an Avanza taxi for our Mambukal day, and our Sightseeing Day (from Manapla nga)... sadness lang, the minute we arrived at Saltimboca, it started raining!!! so we couldn't hike up to the 7th falls at mambukal... and it was raining when we were at the ruins


BUT

super we had the privilege of a tour of the house of Monsignor Gaston... the house where the filmed Oro Plata Mata (the one near Chapel of the Cartwheels)... amazing talaga!!! Loved all the little trivia I learned from the ancestral house visits... and we went home with 5 different butterscotch brands (and wala pa dun yung supposedly the best)


food wise though.... the best for us yung sa Manokan Country (Nena's beth).... second yung sa d' breakers bar and restaurant sa victorias city... the rest were okay lang

and definitely... the manapla puto sold at deco's is soooooooooooo far from the real thing, coz the real thing is soooo light and once-you-pop-you-cant-stop

isa pa pala... super I loved going to VMC and smelling brown sugar in the air. Parang ansarap to live in a community that smells like that, haha

Hello sisses! I'm going to BCD for a conference on Apr 25-28. I've got some time to waste and I wanna go around, kahit yung must-see places lang, like The Ruins and Mambukal Resort. Baka may girltalker na andun or pupunta na pwede ako sumama?

beforeiturn25, you definitely  have to try Bob's Cafe (chicken sate or sate babe), Calea for their cakes, Bacolod Chicken House/Aida's Manukan for the inasal.

beforeiturn25... mambukal would require at least a whole day, para hindi sayang yung travel time and fare mo   better nga if you can hook up with other people kasi there are so many things to do there

hi who knows how to go to la carlota? specifically, azucarera de la carlota, i want to see old trains, are outsiders allowed to enter inside only to take pics? thanks to those who will reply.

may mini bus na pumupunta sa La Carlota. usually sa Sambok Terminal or sa Libertad market.

Sis, just want to ask meron na kaming air fare for Bacolod san kaya pwede pumunta 2 nights and 3days ... Meron ba kayong alam kung saan pwede mag ayos ng landtrips.. Thanks.
