Hi guys,

I just want to share and here the opinions of our gtalkers here.

I am a long time Canadian citizen who studied High School and University in Manila where I met my husband. we dated for over 6 years before tying the knot last May in Canada (civil wedding) as I moved back to Canada two years ago. I only submitted all of our papers to CIC last week of September/ first week of October because my husband would get some of them wrong and I would need to wait for the revised copy via dhl. We applied for outbound. me in Canada, him in ph.

I got approved as a sponsor last week of December and 4 days before our church ceremony in PH last January, they requested for an additional marriage certificate (very common apparently, coz my sis in law was asked the same thing. she never mentioned it so sayang.. if I knew, i would have prepped in advance). My mistake was, I didn't report the civil wedding to the DFA asap and now had to wait an additional 3 months for it to reflect sa NSO. Getting ready to submit this requirement to

now my next hurdle is, I got pregnant by accident and in order to maintain residency in Vancouver, I need to go back on or before the 6th month (by June 2016). I am afraid of giving birth in Canada without my husband but I can't imagine giving birth here in Manila as well. as I am having a difficult first trimester and couldn't go back by end of Feb as planned, I had to quit my job as well.

Our plan is I leave mid may (2nd trimester already) then he applies for a tourist visa by June 2016 so he can come over by Aug as I am giving birth in October. but if Embassy will get his passport and hold it for 3-4 months pending approval, how does that work?

My tips:

It is very important to get all papers done correctly first time around. Give them everything they want. add the marriage certificate as a bonus.

give them your email address. This way, you would not have a mailed application response getting lost in the mailing system.

Use a courier when its an option. Please don't save money over the stress of thinking if your application was received.

^wala pa rin. Yung friend ko ditto, she sponsored her sister. Nakapagpamedical na. Same time lang din nagsubmit dun sa pinsan ni hubby.

Hello guys! Who here recently migrated to Canada via spousal visa? From your experience, how long was the processing time? From the website it says 12 months but I read in canadavisa(dot)com, 6-9 months lang experience ng mga Pinoys. I need a rough estimate so I can properly schedule our civil and church wedding, and spousal visa application. Baka mag abot visa approval and church wedding eh haha:) Thank you!

^it's hard to make estimate. I think canadavisa forum gives a good ballpark na since mas maraming samples doon. I guess it is fine na mag abot. In my experience, I got my visa ng July and expiration is not until December.

hi sissies, which agencies did you use for your applications as family? and were they successful/ helpful? around how much are the fees of that agency for thei service?
Do you recommend them?

^I do not recommend agencies as you can definitely process the papers on your own.
