Hi!

We have been using induction cooker since we transferred to a condominium kasi bawal ang LPG.
Here are the pros and cons
Pros

1) Its cheaper than LPG - why? kasi sobrang bilis uminit ng pinapakulo mo dahil reggulated ng heat yung voltage. Water can reach boilin temperature within 3mins.

2) Since magnetic contact siya, walang sunog. and when you remove the pots/pans sa induction stop na kaagad electricity bill unlike when you remove something from a gas range.

Cons

1) Mahirap maghanap ng induction ready pans - I suggest you bring yung magnet niyo sa ref to check if the pans you bought are induction ready.

2) Don't go for pans na mix stainless and aluminun - dahil nangangalawang pa din.

3) Wag iwanan pagnagluluto until sanay na kayo. Its not like gas na iwan mo for 3mins hindi pa luto yung isda mo. Its easy to burn your meals if left unattended.
Notes

1) Dont buy expensive units. - I suggest dowell. Super okay siya! and buy induction na you can control temperature as well not only wattage.

3) Always have a towel beside you- wipe the induction if may spill kasi nagiging less effective siya.

Overall

It was a tedious job to go around and look for induction ready pans kasi super mahal sa SM, Robinsons, SNR. Unexpectedly, we found most of what we have sa ....Shopwise! haha
We learned to love induction. sometimes we miss the gas range kasi hindi ka maka stir-fry although may wok na induction. Iba pa din talaga ang chinese cooking sa wok and high pressure gas.

I hope this helps!

Subscribing.

I bought an induction cooker for emergency purposes lang, like mawalan ng gasul. Im using it for more than 2 years na rin. Nakakatipid nga sya especially kung nagpapakulo ka ng tubig, it will only take 2 mins. Kaya lang you need to have a good cookware na pang induction lang talaga especially sa mga pinirito. Since walang function for rice cooking yung stove namin, ang hirap magluto ng kanin, laging sunog yung gitna. We use it din sa mga outing, maganda kasing gamitin panluto ng fishball, etc mabilis lang maluto at pwedeng dalhin as long may saksakan. Hehe

Mga sis, ang induction cooker nyo ba ay single or double burner? I am planning to give my mom an electrolux or philips induction cooker. Pero mas gusto nya ang double burner. Kindly suggest naman kung dalawang single burner para ma-try ko both brands o double burner na lang? Pano kaya ang consumption ng electricity nun?

I got a free induction cooker when I bought our washing machine. Dowell ang brand and may free na isang cookware. I will try to convert into cooking here para makatipid sa kuryente. Need ko lang to buy new cookware ready for induction nga lang.

I use induction cooker too in our home. Prefer ko to kesa sa gas stove. For me safe kasi and space efficient pa. White Westinghouse ang brand, single burner. 3k yata bili namin sa SM appliance. I have to buy pa magnetic cookware. Yun ang mahal, nasa 1k dn ang isa. Pero you can set the temp and may option sya like (fry/soup/hotpot).

hi mga sis, pa join :)  i bought a Dowell induction cooker last week after reading the suggestions here.  first try ko with eggs, super sunog, hehe.  So far I've tried cooking soup, fried chicken and sausages, and i tried cooking rice yesterday just to see how it fairs w/ the traditional rice cooker - again may sunog hehe - i still prefer the rice cooker.

i noticed na nasususunog lang yung food when i used the low quality pan that came with the cooker, so i only use that for boiling water na lang.
I already had a stainless pot and 1 pan before i bought the cooker but hindi compatible yung sunnex pan na stainless kasi hindi pala cya magnetic :( so before you go buy stainless pots, take the advice of sis ekaguerrero and bring a ref magnet with you.

i'll try cooking more stuff with this cooker and will post updates in a few weeks or so :)  hopefully hindi cya madaling masira *crossing fingers*

Sisses, may pressure cooker ba na pwede gamitin for induction stove? Ang hirap kasi magpalambot ng karne. Nakakahinayang magpakulo ng matagal sa induction stove.

We started using an induction cooker when we renovated our house. Not because it was planned; it was because we didn't allot space in our kitchen for an LPG tank. Haha. So induction na.

Like an old gas range stove, sanayan din ang paggamit ng induction cooker. You have to know its quirks -- how fast it heats up, it cooks food, and what pots/pans work with it. What I like about it is it doesn't have hot spots. The heat will always be evenly spread out so our food doesn't have burn marks on one particular side. So easy to clean pa. And buti na lang my husband is a wannabe chef, so we've always had quality pots and pans and didn't need to buy new ones for the induction cooker. I monitored our electricity bill and found out it only added P300 to our consumption. Definitely much cheaper than buying a P1000+ LPG tank every 5-6 weeks.

One downside is you can't cook some food that requires fire or burning, like tortang talong. And yung double burners, mahal. But last time we went shopping for induction cookers, I was surprised to see that they're much cheaper now ha. And ang dami nang new designs from different brands.

Ingat pala sa induction cooker that has plastic on its cooking surface -- malamang sa malamang, matatalsikan ng oil yan and mag-me-melt. Better to choose induction cookers that are 100% glass top.

im also planning to switch to induction cooking instead of the traditional gasul fire cooking. but I think the pots and pans are a little pricey but it can be set aside naman as long as napaka efficient siya...I have a question for all of you...

sa induction cooker diba may part na bilog where you will put your pot there? what if you need to cook more and you need a bigger pot than sa bilog noong induction cooker gagana parin naman iyon right? or hindi maluluto maige kasi need sakto....?

Im not sure if its a stupid question but hope masagot ninyo...thanks!
