Hi sis,  I also have dermoid cyst but its 1cm its been like that ang size and thankfully
it hasnt increased. How about you sis? I've also tried to change my lifestyle, diet and exercise

i have facial dermoid cyst (sa right eye), have it since birth and ive been to so many doctors and all of them said dermoid cyst, well thats until last august when i decided to have it removed, results ng biopsy? LIPOMA!!

even after the operation meron p ring natira, my optha is scared na ubusin dahil baka madeform naman daw ang mata ko.

kahit naging mali ang diagnosis sa akin, all procedure was done as if dermoid cyst nga ang nasa mata ko... s st lukes ako nag paopera, out patient lang, after ng operation uwi n din agad

Just wanna share my experience. I was diagnosed with a dermoid cyst i think about a year ago. I was so scraed. I thought it was something so serious, considering that it involves the ovary. I had no symptoms at all since this kind of cyst is asymptomatic. My periods are regular and I rarely experience dismenoria (forgive my spelling). It was just a fortunate accident how I found out I had the dermoid cyst. Let me give you little facts about it.

1. Dermoid cysts are inborn.
2. It's mostly composed of fat sebum, and/or hair shafts and sometimes teeth. YES, teeth.
3. It's asymptomatic.
4. It's not fatal. The cyst is BENIGN.
5. It is not an emergent case. Meaning you have all the time in the world to plan when you want to have the cyst removed from your body.

I am 24 years old. It was a fortunate accident I saw an OB GYN for a random check up. This was my first time to see an OB. My doctor was so good, she just pulpated my tummy area and she felt right away that there was somethin in my lower abdomen. She recommended a transvaginal ultra sound right away, and there it was..... I had the dermoid cyst nga.
I had it removedc April 2011. (7months ago) Ovaries are measured around 4cm. MY CYST WAS 11cm.... Triple the size of an ovary!!! It was huge! It was like a baby's head. Like i said, I had no symptoms at all, magaling [textspeak!] talag [textspeak!] OB gyn ko, she was able to detect immediately.

To answer your question regarding if you would need a surgery to have it removed, the answer is YES. Do you really have to get the cyst out? YES, because the cyst might grow bigger in size as it accumulates more body fluid from your body. It might also rapture inside your body and this will poison you. There are surgical ways to remove that cyst with minimal scars. Discuss these options with your doctor. Let me recommend my OB, Dr. ANA VISITACION CAYETANO of ST. LUKES E.rodriguez. She's a very good OB and she's very hands on and easy to talk to. She will explain to you everything you need to know, like how she explained things to me. She took care of me so well, to the point whereas i never felt that I had an operation done at all. That's how good she is in her profession. I love her like family! I thank God for making her an instrument to give me a renewed health.

got my dermoid cysts removed when i was 3 months pregnant.  sa sobrang laki nya, one of my ovaries had to be removed na kasi super nasira na and my other ovary nagtira ng 1/4 yung OB ko para magkababy pa uli.  suffice it to say, super galing ng OB ko because procedures like this on pregnant women are rare and very very difficult.  regular checkups with OBs are always best.

Thanks mga sisess... I had another tvs this month.. Oh well will go for the operation na tlaga. As per the doctor na nakausap ko eh pdi pa na laparoscopy ang procedure.. Il have it remove pr may leace of mind na ko.. Il chek out st lukes dra na recommended ni sis mas malapit sa hauz namin eh.

sis i had dermoid cyst din left and right ovaries both 7.2cm, natakot ako kasi wala pa kong baby yung first OB na pinuntahan ko [textspeak!] nya kailangan tangalin ng yung both ovaries, kaya natakot naman ako so nag 2nd opinion ako, so ayun aug. 2011 natangal na yung kambak kong dermoid cyst, para lang syang CS operation, sis ipatangal mo na yan kasi baka mag rapture pa yan or baka ma damage nya pa mabuti yung ovaries mo.

Hi chubbycheeks_918! i just want to know if ur ob really removed both of your ovaries? i currently  have a cyst pero my ob cannot really say if it's again, another dermoid cyst (i had one on my right ovary 2 years ago, the right ovary was removed)or endometrioma. i'm ttc and i'm worried na baka tanggalin na naman [textspeak!] ovary ko...

Hi mga Sis, I just had my surgery for the removal of a dermoid cyst..it was first thought of a endo cyst pro win i was opened...it was a dermoid cyst..my ovaries are both ok, even my uterus is ok. the only problem was na stretch nya and fallopian tube ko on the left side..pero still we don't loose hope to have a baby..ivf n and choice namin. Have at least a  2nd opinion or a 3rd to be sure..pero ako since kapa ko n sya i just had 1 opinion pa..then after that we planned the surgery na.. GOd bless mga sis!

          Sis..GOLDY  may i know how big ang dermoid cyst mo? Sabi ni OB me dermoid cyst din daw ako..2.5 cm...I asked her kung me dapat ba ikabahala...not cancerous naman daw...monitor na lang daw nia....kaya pala after baby making namin ni hubby..sumasakit left side abdomen ko...gawa pala ng cyst yun...pero nawawala din naman yung pain after mga ilang araw...Plan ko magdetox ng katawan at puro fruits and veggies na lang kainin ko( sana makacomply ako dito sa diet na ito)..Nabasa ko kc eating meats,dairy products and processed foods....mga purely acidic yan...at dian nagfefeed mga tumor kaya lumalaki..

Hi Sis purpleangel11, nako sis baka lumaki kas siya ng 15cm..na trigger siya nung bingyan ako ng dati kong ob ng clomid kasi ttc kami ni hubby..alm ko kapg nasa 2.5cm is bnbgyan ng pills to help shrink..you might want to have a 2nd opinion first kasi ako b4 gnyan din kaliit pnatnggal ko agd.. tpos ndi maayos yung png ask ko ng 2nd opinion, e dapt ndi ko pla dapt pnatnggal agd..dhil makukuha pa pala sa pills..hopefully sis all of us gets better.. balitaan mo kami sis ha!

^^ Hello! I just had a ~12cm dermoid cyst removed from my right ovary. I'm a little over 3 weeks in recovery na. Compared to my cysts and the others I've read here sa forum, chicken yung sayo for now purpleangel11. However, if dermoid yan, the only solution is operation talaga. Di yan natatangal ng gamot gaya ng ibang ovarian cysts kasi di yan hormone-related. Natatanggal daw pag nabuntis ka? Baka endometriosis siya and not dermoid?

Kahit operation naman siya, hindi urgent for your size. Ang risk lang kasi pag lumaki is the complications (kahit benign pa siya) like destroying your ovaries at pag nagtwist yan, masakit na masakit din daw. Ako medyo sinwerte kasi kahit malaki siya, di pag nagtwist and nasave pa yung ovary ko.

I had open surgery (pelvic lap) but for smaller cysts, laparoscopy is a better alternative. May thread dito na all about laparoscopy lang. Check it out. Yun yung isa sa mga binabasa ko prior to my operation. Haha.

Also, read about the Magna Carta for Women. You are entitled to up to 60 days special leave (paid) for undergoing a surgery related to a gynecological disease. This will not be charged to your regular sick leave and SSS benefit. Parang maternity leave.

Hi sis, actually tam a si Sis monbla, the only way to take it out is to have a lap or an open surgery..but what my ob did was she gave me a med to shrink it down so we can have a lap procedure sna para has less invasive, less adhesions but unfortunately mine was big na talaga but what it did was it just maintained its size and made it a little softer..you can always have a second opinion like what i did God bless sis! Baby dust to all! Sis, endo and lam ko ng va-vanish when your pregnant kasi when you have your period ng grow siya or nagiging active..hope this helps you
