Just my two cents. :) Saan pwede magpawax sa may makati ave? Anyone tried Pink Parlor? :D

Had my Brazilian waxing for the first time at The Strip last September. I think it's worth the price. :) Masakit pero tolerable. Plan to go back next month. :)

I wax my underarm and lower legs on my own. Sayang nga e, I wish I have discovered waxing noon pa. It was only in 2010 when I stopped shaving and plucking. Before, I went to different salons for waxing services. The worst experience was when the attendant has to pluck hairs pa from my lower leg kasi di sumasama sa wax yung hair. Ouch talaga! :'( Oftentimes, nagpapa-home service ako but sadly, nag-close na yung shop so I was forced to learn DIY waxing.

I used Strip It wax before. Ok nung una but sa 2nd or 3rd tub, ayoko na nung consistency nung wax. And di na kumakapit yung hair! And then I discovered here sa GT yung Nanny Rose wax! Love! Love! Love!  :)

Hot vs. cold wax? Sabi nung attendant sa The Strip, better daw ang hot wax kasi it will open up the hair follicles so easier sa pag-pull. ;)

Strip paper: Glam is way much better than Epilin. Sino-soak up lang ng Epilin yung wax. But the best is cutting your old denims into strips! Dito ko rin sa GT natutunan yun. :) Hairs come off easily and kahit yung small and thin hairs sumasama talaga. :)

What I do: Clean the area to be waxed with wet tissues then dust with talc or baby powder. Apply the wax then flatten the strips dun sa area. Pull against the direction of hair growth. Don't wet the area for at least 4 hours. I bought a cream from The Strip for post-Brazilian waxing care. I also used the same cream on my underarms and legs after ko mag-wax.  :)

Sanayan lang ang waxing. Sa una, masakit pero pag nasanay ka na (and your hair follicles), super carry na.  ;D

So far, happy ako sa DIY waxing ko. I have man-hair before sa lower legs (think curly and thick) pero ngayon, maninipis na lang yung tumutubo and mga once every 2 mos na lang ako kailangang mag-wax sa legs tapos on some areas na lang. So happy! :)

Just waxed my UA (for the first time!) earlier using Megan Papaya Facial (and underarm) Waxing Strips kasi it was the only available brand in Robinsons. For some reason, it didn't work and only few hairs came out, and it just made my skin bleed.

Any tips please?

@ meimei, try taking two capsules of pain relievers an hour before waxing to minimize the pain.  Sometimes I put ice on the area to be waxed to numb it.  Other times, I put a topical anesthesia minutes before the job.

@AliCole, did you put baby powder or talc powder on the area to be waxed?  This is what I do para mas kumapit yung wax doon sa hair.  I also make sure na mahaba na yung hair -- at least 1/4 of an inch para madala siya ng wax.  When you pull the strip in the opposite direction of the hair growth, pull it close to the skin and apply pressure thereafter para hindi siya ganoon kasakit.

Okay lang kaya to? Or trim ko? lol. ;D

Hindi nagwork yung strips even with baby powder :(( Tingin ko talaga na hindi effective yung strips. Can anyone recommend a different product?

You could try yung mga ready to use waxes.  In my case, I like my waxes heated.  It somehow alleviates the pain of hair pulling.

I bought the Nanny Rose's Queen Bee Honey Wax sa Watsons earlier. Its a hot and cold wax, but I think I'll heat it 'cause it's really gooey.

i had my legs waxed sa laybare more than a week ago. nag-try lang ako. first time. kasi kala ko pwede ulitin agad. 2-3 months pa daw dapat. kaya lang may lakad ako on nov 24th. medyo tubo na sya that time. parang ang panget naman ... :-\

Yun nga lang. That's why I always time my Lay Bare appointments just before an event or special occasions like Christmas para sulit. If you REALLY need to remove the hair from your legs, try threading. It's tedious work and it's not as thorough as a Lay Bare wax, but it will do as a temporary solution.
